Just happened to me tonight, after taking apart the console I found that the cable was off and that was why I was having problems shifting/starting the car. But after your video, I have decided to install the bushing myself instead of going to the dealer. Many thanks guy!!!
Bro you are the best. I watched your video and man everything that you said to do I did and now the car runs again. You saved me a towing fee and a lot of money from Hyundai.
Had this issue today, took the center console out and sure enough the shifting cable slipped off and the bushing was broke. Saved me big time thank you so much.
dammm you save my day, i was as cemetery granma funeral and stuck in park, but the shifter move up and down. my uncle put in drive via direct tran. now i found your video an i remove the console 8pm and see exactly that problem. ufff THANX
Happened to me last night and I got lucky my car was at home. Until I found this video, any kit I could find for Hyundai Veloster was at least 2 days out (nothing at local auto parts store) and Hyundai only sells the whole cable kit and not just the bushing and that was 4 days out. Got this kit and it worked perfectly. Thanks!
My daughter’s veloster experienced the shifter locked in R. I managed to push the shifter back to park by going under the hood and pushing the shifter lever(located below the battery) to the left and it popped the gear to park. Also the shifter was able to shift and again and was able to drive the car home. After watching this video I will look into whether the bushing is shot and try to replace it
I give credit where credit is due, thank you very much, thanks to you, you saved me the tow bill and repair bill. However i had to use a little grease to slide the bushing on.. Many thanks 🙋🏽♂️
Thanks, man 🤗 ...same thing happened to me yesterday , before watching this video i counsult with the local mechanic he said " have to change enterire Shift cable" ( too costly + Labour Charge) and lot of balhalablhh balh ... 😅😅 ... i opened center console myself and noticed its was off from the clip module , luckly those bushing not broken in visual check , i just tighten using Thin Iron Wire and its worksss !!!!😍😍😍 any way i will order same parts for feature touble shoot ! thanks alot again ......

If it is the electrical plug from the center console. I think it has a clip on its side that you have to press before pulling it out. But Im not completely sure, its been a while since I removed that panel. Let me know your results.
@@javonpage5776 I just installed without lub and the use of tools. If it is to hard to install, I would use a little of soap instead of oil to prevent bushing deterioration. But it is preferable to do dry install.
It is an aftermarket replacement I found at Autozone. It is made by Dorman and its part number is 14055. I think you cand buy it straight from Dorman web site too.
Hey man i got a problem with my car I hve a 2013 model its an automatic gear box But when i put it in manual and try to give it gear with the + and - nothing happens it dose even show on the dash that it went to manual . What is the problem. And do u think ur same solution will work with me . I hope u reply to me and help me ill be thankful to u man
I havent seen this problem yet but Im pretty sure when you select to go sports it should be a switch at the shifting lever for that selection. I would start checking it to see if it is ok.

A guy had the same problem and the same car model as me and he fixed it he said its the gear controller thingy you knwo the one when u put it in sport mode + - He even sent pic of the part . I’ve been pressing the shift/lock release for months now. I’m gonna give the a try and see if that’s the issue or not. This weekend thanks
It can be a bad brake pedal switch too.

Same thing is happening to me right now! Thanks

@@mundothefixitallguy4687 yah unfortunately when i go to sports nothing happens idk why even when i try to give it gears
When doing troubleshooting I like check the fuses first or loose connections. But I have a feeling your problem is at the shift lever.
