- After a long delay I am back with another video as requested by an awesome viewer. Today we are removing the Center Fascia Trim (Radio/Air Vent Trim) and also removing the Side Air Vent trim in my 2012 NA Hyundai Veloster.
Thanks for the love and patience while I was away. I hope to be cranking some videos out a little more quickly now that things have slowed down.
Enjoy.

I just completed this on my 2013 veloster. It literally took me 20 minutes to replace it. I used two flathead screw drivers. Once you pry in the two spots at the bottom with the indentions, you can hold it with one hand, pry up and you can see the location of the remaining yellow clips on the side. Use the screwdriver and pry from the side while pulling up from the bottom. Mine popped right off. I did not tape off. Could not get any tape to stick. My scuffing is not even noticeable. Saved $500 from what a dealer would charge. Bought my part for $180 online. Thanks or the video!!
You make it sound easy. Ours is quite secure. Tried with screwdriver and plastic trim tools. Hard to get it to release and not sure where to grab it.
Everyone else makes this look so easy, this is why I dislike fake reality stuff because when I try it....5 hours later, blood, sweat, tears and call my mechanic bro for help 😂😭🏃
I’m having hard time opening up my 2015 RAV4’s AC panel as well
Thank you for making this video
Have to replace the head unit as the touch screen doesnt work anymore. I know this is a dead account but thanks for uploading.
Did you ever get it removed because the same thing happened to mine
Hi Rodney, my air vent wheel is stuck. So I plan to follow your removal video but once off do you have any tips on how to free it?
Hi did you paint the parts blue if so what paint or vinyl did you use?
Thanks for the video needed this
There seem to be trim tool indentations on the center trim where the clips are. Around the sides, they do not become visible until the bottom ones are popped, I think a flat head with pressure on those indentations with a trim tool applying outward pressure would decrease the force and fiddling required to pop the clips. I will give it a try and update.
hi mate i have 1 question i have only 1 tooth broken and can i just pull it out and replace it from the front? What in your video 21 It's in a minute. If for this I have to break up like you remove the page???
would love a vid on removing the usb from the veloster rodney because you have to take the trim off
Are the inserts all painted blue or covered with film?
This pairs well with your typical repair site toolkit with various plastic picks and separaters for plastic parts.
Helpful video. I appreciate you!
Very helpful bro 👍🏼
Awesome video and great quality man. Sorry bout the finger trying to get the vent out
You sir have earned a sub! I haven't done anything to my Veloster yet. But this inspires some confidence lol. I have a request, how to remove and replace the shift knob in the dct Veloster. That's the one thing I really want to do but I can't find a vid on it. Please and thank you!
+Vito E Haha, I enjoy comments like this. I plan on doing a video on the shift knob. It's coming soon, just gotta find a shift knob I like
Veloster Rodney that's also another problem. I haven't found one yet that I like. Ok thanks and I can't wait for the video.
+Vito E The shift knob video is up on my channel

Vito E this guy is very awesome all about veloter thats why i subscibred to him. always watching his videos
When unplugging the connectors, do you disconnect the battery? I'm in need of replacing the head unit. Thanks for the video.
+Stephen Rao No you don't have to unplug the battery when disconnecting those connectors. I'm sure it couldn't hurt but it seems unnecessary.
Jamaica is notorious for having tuners, Yardie mi seh!!!!🇯🇲😁
hello, could you happen to post a video on removing the A/C Heat Control Module? Painter's is a great idea, and when i have time to fix my A/C will definitely use some.
+Joel Merritt I sold the car but once you remove the trim, all it takes is removing screws to take the ac module out. The module will come out with the center fascia trim when it is removed.
You've inspired a weekend project!!!
But I have a question, what did you use for paint? did you sand first?
Do those clips break easily?
+raechel braley I used Krylon Color Maxx Brilliant Blue Gloss paint. Found it at Walmart. Yes I sanded the parts I painted. More recently I only used Scott Brite pads and soapy water to remove factory paint and anything that would prevent the new paint from sticking. As for clips, I haven't been able to break any clips yet. Either I've been lucky or they are strong enough lol.
Veloster Rodney
Thanks for being so prompt! What courseness for sandpaper? I'm making a shopping list.....
Oh! What was that little tool called you used with the screwdrivers?
+raechel braley I usee something like a 400 followed by 600, 800 if you can find it, and finish with 1000/1500 wet sand. You might have similar results using just Scott Brite pads to pull factory paint off and then paint.
The tool I was using is just a trim pulling tool. You can find them at most automotive parts stores or places like harbor freight.
+raechel braley I gave the wrong paint name, it's Krylon Color Maxx "True Blue", not brilliant blue.
+raechel braley Also, I'd watch a few videos on trim painting prior to doing it so you get a feel for it. Don't just go off of my advice lol.
Where did you get this blue accessory?
have u found it yet? if so please send me a link
i have a question have you ever done bumper removal the front bumper lip? because im plannig to install red bumper lip.
+Jorge I I have a rear bumper removal video coming up. I could do front bumper removal as well.
Veloster Rodney cool, that be great. i've been looking for videos how to install a front bumper lip in veloster on youtube and i can't find one. good to hear that looking forward, thanks in advance :)
Hi, my friend, I'm from Brazil and I really liked your videos, I have a Veloster and I'm interested in pinatr the internal parts as you painted, do you have any video showing how to disassemble the pieces? Here the professionals are not very careful and end up spoiling the pieces, so I want to withdraw and put myself. Thanks for the real attention and congratulations to the videos.
The disassembly of these pieces is pretty easy. Its just screws that have to be removed once you've got the trim pieces out.
Are the parts in the case of snap-in ones on the other types joined by latches?
+Edinho Oliveira I'm not sure what you mean here but the trim pieces either have clips or screws or plasti-welds. There are various things holding them together. I try to show their removal as best as I can in the videos but only in a couple of the videos do I actually fully disassemble them.
can you do a vid o. removing the steering wheel trim!?
+Zac Maltese Sure thing :)
+Zac Maltese The video is ready ua-cam.com/video/3BZtBRX62QY/v-deo.html
Thanks!
Guess I ordered a defective ac unit because my fan doesn't run nor the max air portion.
I need help!!!!
I wished he get to the point OMG
If you use the right tool there is no scuffing
100 percent agree!! Couldn't believe he used a screwdriver ARRRRGHHH!!! I have a kit full of plastic leverage tools (all shapes and sizes), designed specifically for these type of jobs.
Probably wouldn't stick as much if you didn't paint the clips.
People talk to much just get into the damn project.
