Great video! FYI anyone with a gen1 Outland 400 the primary clutch bolt is a left-hand thread! I just broke mine by accidentally turning too far left thinking I was loosening. Now in a world of shat trying to fix it
@@coreygilmore7073 I had to take it to a mechanic - they got it out no problem. I wound up with too much money in the whole project and sold it once completed to break even
Thanks for the video. Going to replace one way bearings in my father in laws 05 can am/ bombardier outlander 400. Haven’t looked at it yet to see if it’s similar setup. I’ll be finding out soon.
i dont mean to be off topic but does someone know a tool to log back into an Instagram account..? I somehow lost the account password. I would appreciate any tricks you can offer me.
@Luca Hugh Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site on google and im in the hacking process now. Seems to take a while so I will reply here later with my results.
Thanks for the video! I have an older 2004 Outlander 330 and can't seem to find anyone that sells the M12 bolt for primary. The oem or upgraded bolt, I have been unable to find one where it says it fits my ATV. Everything but mine it seems...lol. If you know where might have one, please let me know. If you happen to know the size that would be great too. Thanks in advance.
Putting the one-way back on isn't typically when they launch. It's when you remove the one-way. But yes as long as the band slides off the cups and can then be removed its all good .
how did you block the pulley when you unscrewed and turned the primary screw, was it possible to damage something inside from the pressure, rollers or weights or roller shafts or weights
Amel Šahman that round stock is 1/2” I think. And no it fits in through the hole in the governor cup and just binds the two sides . Plenty of aluminum to get it loose or tighten it with any damage. At least I haven’t ran into any issues and have done that one in video at least 6 times . Not to mention all the others .
roadrnnr2008 Only reason for backing off primary bolt would be for bolt stretch. I have had several of these off with no issues. Not saying it wouldn't be a good idea. But for me I don't find it is needed.
Thinking of sending my 2013 commander clutch to get the lock up mod. Since your install, have you had any issues? Also, what other parts (besides the sealed bearings) would you recommend I upgrade while I got the clutch assembly apart?
The factory bearings are only sealed on one side. The skf bearings are sealed both side. Run them till the go out then replace. I have ran the skf bearing for 4000 miles no issues.
Ok I have got a couple email notifications recently of question being asked but they aren’t showing up here in UA-cam. So if still needing answers email me directly at . Acefirearms@gmail.com thanks
I'm new to UTV's and wanted to service the one way bearing. This showed me everything I needed, thanks for the great video

If it’s left hand thread a standard right hand drill bit may possibly spin it out while drilling it .
@tiddnmichelle did you get your bolt off I just did the same thing on mine....🤬

I did the same thing. But was able to get the broken thread out of the threaded hole with my finger some how

Thanks so much you saved my ass!
@Gordon Cullen glad I could help xD
My can am 450 spins the opposite direction. Uses a left thread bolt to tighten. Learned that the hard way
@@wallyyuriy8912 we've all been there a time or two!!
@@TheAcefirearms yep. I had it apart since March. Parts came this week finally. Lol. Got it back together last night. Your video helped. Thanks
@wallyyuriy8912 glad the video helped out. Kinda sucks the machine was down for so long.

@dgmenace73 get a hold of Ed at uatv-tech.com he may be able to help you out.
Beware the 400 engine has a left thread on the primary clutch retainer bolt
How about using a fat rubber band to hold the cups and springs in place while you push the one way back on? 🤔

Dalton clutch kit with low engagement spring. And a 212 Maverick belt.
What is the lenght bolts of clutch please
Not sure and I don't have any laying around to measure them or I would. Sorry I couldn't help.
Where does the LUBE go??

does this mod work for the 2013 maverick?
Jason Adkins no the hp is to high. You might look into the Mav turbo clutch.
