This will help me tremendously. Great step by step. Easy to follow. I pulled the cover and found some tiny ball bearings and one of the pins for the one way clutch. After watching this video I am heading out to complete the inspection and repair. Thanks, Allan
It Just happened to me last night. I broke everything down today. Taking my time cleaning it . 2 things..1st I like to get a clutch upgrade 2022 450 Can Am Outlander DPS cause I will be getting bigger tires. can you send info on what you recommend? and #2 before you put on the box did you rotate secondary clutch 180* ? cause you didn't show it on video. thanks for the tips great video!!
Have you ever had a belt pop and when you replace it all gears are reverse? It was perfectly fine before now if you put it in high it’s reverse, low it’s reverse, and neutral and park same thing.
Enjoyed the video. Just picked up 2008 650 can am outlander. Thanks for sharing your video. I'll know what to look at for the early warning signs. Keep posting brother 🍻🎶🇨🇦
Thanks for posting this video. I think I'm experiencing this. I got some muddy water in the air intake and i seized up the secondary clutch. the bike wouldn't move. After I cleaned it up the bike started creeping so when I can I'm going to take apart and clean the primary clutch. Thanks Again I hope this works for me.
Was hoping you showed how to install the bolt on secondary clutch. My bolt on secondary clutch sheared off. Just taking it out of storage and getting it ready for the the summer I fixed it but did not have the right tool to hold the secondary clutch was gonna use a piece of wood but just had the dealer torque it for me 12 to 15 pounds than a 180゚. The tool to hold the secondary corlayeah it's looking very cool lunch is a $180 over here. Maybe I should invest in it just in case. Great video thank you for sharing
I this same thing happen to me, I actually had to pull the bushings out and clean the dirt that was behind them, the dirt was making then push out and cause friction not allowing the clutch to operate properly
What do you recommend for torquing them on and off? To keep it from spinning? I have to remove mine and clean it. I had a critter decide it was a good place to store food for winter 😢
They make a special tool to hold them in place while you tourqe them. In a pinch I've improvised using a piece of wood but I do not recommend doing that because It can damage the clutch if not careful
@@JPar9577 I’m trying to locate the tool.. I can’t hold it tight enough to get the factory nut off. Thoughts? The nut itself is 17mm... what size clutch socket do I need?
Tks for sharing. I have to fix a 650 that has the same issue. Tks for showing the little springs and pin bullshit set up 🤣. Tin Can waaay over rated imo. 🤙🏻
Should I let the parts sit over night or take em out of the water? I have the bearing in the water as well that you said be careful of because of the small springs which wasn't to bad they fell out in my hand. My clutch wouldn't even move at all, and so I have it all in a bin of dawn blue dish soap and cold water. I don't wanna ruin anything, and I couldn't get the other clutch off.
@@JPar9577 one more question is the primary clutch supposed to be hard putting back together? It was hard getting the spider part out and now it's fighting to go back together like the magnets are stopping it
At about 1000 miles, my belt started slipping so I figured it was time for a new belt anyways. So I went ahead and put a maverick belt on it. 300 miles later, it’s slipping again.
I have a can an renegade 1000 xxc and when its NOT started the gear shifter moves freely wen its started the shifter is stuck in park and i can only select reverse unless i turn it off and move it to another gear but then wen it starts it pulls forward or back depending on the gear im in ... any suggestions ? Do you think its worth doing what you did in this video ? Thanks with love from the uk
Cleaned the clutches today like in this video and also made sure the one way bearing moved freely and it does but still no change to my problem ... ive now got no idea and this lockdown of the uk isnt helping as there in no quad mechanics open and to top it off its due to snow tonight and my can am is broken 😭😭HELP PLEASE
Hey bro I might need your help with some My secondary clutch won’t come off I took the bolt out The spray ain’t push it out the spring is loose just hit me back up and I’ll send you a video for you to see what I’m talking about
Yeah sometimes they do that may need to spray some pb blaster on it and tap it with a rubber mallet don't hit it hard or it will break just need to work it loose
Yes I have I started the bike without clutch on left side n can still here noise almost like it's coming from shaft...is that shaft suppose to move a tiny bit like in n out cuz it does a tiny bit....any suggestions....

Yeah if you ever flood the belt box that dirt gets in everywhere
Thanks for the video. Did you need a special tool to hold both pulleys while torquing them back in place?
Yes you do need a tool to hold them still and torque them
Thanks
