The car I was waiting for you to review Nick and it is a stunning vehicle. I drive a C43 Coupe and love the shape. When the new C43 & C63 arrived without a Coupe, I wondered if MB had made an error. But clearly not with the launch of the CLE 53. Still can't accept the shiny "piano black" on a premium car (I went for the black Ash ), but other than that WOW! Oh and the wheels!! Love the fact that you can now open the boot so easily, rather than my swiping my foot dance moves, that only seem to work occasionally. Thanks as always Nick for a great review.

Nice video Nick, thank you for sharing! I like a lot the AMG coupe style, Mercedes truly nail it with that design. I currently own a 2019 C63s coupe featuring the new facelift, and they both appear remarkably similar. The Mercedes warranty is nearly expired, so I am considering the CLE AMG, but not sure yet because the V8 power and sound of the C63s are amazing. What would you do in my shoes, Nick? I know that AMG repairs can be costly, and while I have had no issues so far, it's common for problems to arise just after the warranty ends ;)

Sport+ normally will offer all of the pops and bangs that Race offers as the exhaust valves are open. Sadly couldn’t test race in this one as you need the Pro Performance Package. Would be curious to hear it though!
The interior is exactly the same as my new C43 saloon. Love this car unfortunately when I traded in my C43 coupe last year the new one was not available in the coupe, also the black edition was also not available.
Nick I love the new C43 it drives just as good as my previous C43 coupe. My only regret was the coupe model was not available. I'm very tempted by the CLE 53 it's everything I would want in a car
Don’t know you’ll have to ask them, haven’t visited for a while. Although I have some video ideas I’d like to film there again so I will have to pop back!
Nice as it is, when the AMG CLE 63 appears with a 4 litre V8 engine that will be the model to have. A separate point, why oh why do you not have the choice of opting for clear glass in the back window? The blacked out rear windows which most manufacturers seem to have as a no choice option truncates the car and ruins its profile
@@npoleary But of course if the CLE 63 does come out with the V8, as has been rumored, it will no doubt be well in excess of £100K. It does appear to be a particularly German thing that for the UK one has very few options to choose from. At least Glassman does offer a service for the number of UK people that do not like the darkened rear windows to exchange them for "normal" glass
@@npoleary My understanding they change the glass. He has recently charged the back glass on a 992 Targa which inexplicably was tinted and the back side windows on a new M2
@Happytruth yeah 👍🏼 There’s a few other bits too. I did actually record a piece talking about that but it felt like it dragged on too much almost like I was listing it all so I cut it out 😅
Lovely car, but not for me using it to do motorway miles every week :( I have a C300D that I love for that but will probably change to a CLE when they come onto the second hand market next year. The paint looks amazing but is a nightmare if it gets marked or chipped, such a shame.
Hey Nick on this car it’s been reported that the exhaust button on the steering wheel dial isn’t present on uk versions of this car so it doesn’t sound as good as the European cars which have the exhaust button function. My question is are Mercedes going to give UK purchasers the option of having this important feature or are uk buyers going to get a worse deal? I’ve not seen anywhere on Mercedes build options where you can add this feature which is standard abroad but not only that standard on the previous CLA 45s what is going on with MB?
It is, Remove Before Race another channel highlighted a piece on that. It is very quiet for the UK market. I watched his video after I made mine. Glad I wasn’t the only one who thought it was quiet! Not sure, we’ll have to see if they change anything!
Sadly I don’t know anyone at Mercedes who’s in charge of things like that. But I guess on the plus side, they do change specs several times throughout the year so we’ll see what they change on the next cycle. Usually they update their brochures at the start and end of the year. I hope they do as it’ll make this one a little more exciting!
@ I see, this model car needs that sound and for a top spec car costing nearly £90k the consumer should have the same choice as the European market let’s hope more people complain maybe then they’ll take onboard the consumers concerns otherwise they’ll no doubt lose sales to BMW and Audi.
Specs will never be the same across the different markets and countries that cars are sold in. Annoyingly they never will, they’ll always be different and offer different packages etc However I do think in this instance there should at least be the option to add a performance exhaust! Yeah let’s hope it changes! 🙏
Nick i noticed that when you left your foot from the gas the speed was dropping , and the charge indicatio was turning blue. Did you find this annoying at all whilst driving? That the car wont roll after accelerating?
Not at all, it’s only the same affect as engine braking so it depends what gear you’re in 🤓 just like a normal car without mild hybrid tech. Different though if you have a plug-in hybrid or electric car where you can adjust some very hard brake recuperation
No if the steering wheel vibrates at speed then that sounds like something needs looking at. This can be a number of different things such wheel weights for balancing the wheel or even more complicated things such as brake issues, wheel misalignment, or bearings and suspension or even tyre pressure. Best thing to do is get a mechanic to take a look. Could be something simple like a wheel weight. Let them know when it happens and at what speed, constant speed, accelerating or deceleration etc

Yeah defo! I covered the dashcam earlier this year so I presume it’s still the same. I’m working on covering some 3rd party dashcams so keep an eye out for that. That sort of thing will give more functionally and auto start etc. If I hear that Mercedes do offer auto start, I’ll make a video on it!
Yeah I think I remember reading on one of the Mercedes models about that It was dry enough though, I was quite lucky It was raining on and off but more of a drizzle so no surface water.
Might have to ask Mercedes staff at dealers on that one, they don’t provide that information on the brochures so the only place I can think to get that info is from them directly 🙏
I’ve heard rumours of one so that would be cool if one does come out. Yeah CLE is two door so no matter what the engine is, it’ll have two doors. If you’re after more doors then C-Class Saloon 🤓 that’ll give you 4 doors
It’s an AMG enhanced/body styling. True AMG are built by hand and that includes but not limited to the 63, 45, GT variants, 55, etc. aThe 53, 43 etc are not true AMG but Mercedes benz enhanced. Still a a heck of a car. You can’t review an AMG without popping the hood up. That’s the essence. Now a days you lot are carried away with the iPad screens and interior lights. Maybe because this isn’t an “AMG”. For all reviewers please stop reviewing coupes and siting in the back “there isn’t much space behind here” the car is a coupe and not meant for 4 adults.
Yes models like these won’t have the one man one engine that Mercedes offer but it is still an amazing car. Genuinely caught me by surprise with how fast it was and smooth its normal drive modes. I’m always open to feedback for making my videos better so I can pop the hood for sportier cars like AMG’s in future 🤓 On my channel I like to focus on a lot more of the tech side of things so naturally there will be more multimedia system stuff shown in the videos. And for the rear seats, I have to at least show them, otherwise it wouldn’t be a full review of the car, but I could shorten it possibly?
That is true. But this AMG-lite car is still phenomenal. I would prefer AMG label reserved for "1 man 1 engine". Mercedes needs an alternative designation for these vehicles.
I’d park on the other side of the car park 😅 For parking on the drive, security cameras, faraday porches and the works (just in case) Although I will add, modern Mercedes keys are pretty good where they turn off after a few mins 👍🏼
not sure why, but it looks ugly to me... I love the new E class, but this is a miss. I prefer the Audi's. RS5 sportback might be a different class, about 100k tricked out, but i love it.
The interior is absolutely awful. A friend's brother got a brand new s63 for almost 300k €, and it has the same stupid tablets I can't understand how you can get a 50k C class and a 300k S63 and have virtually identical looking dashboards and tablets.. 🤦🏻🤦🏻
Oh my God I can't stand you.. You don't stop talking, instead of just finally driving the car. Do a freaking pull already. I'm waiting and waiting and waiting.. What a nightmare
I was talking about when you were already driving... I'm all for getting information and your opinion about the cars features... But it dragged on and on and on and on while you were driving, And you were Not discussing the handling, the balance, the steering communication, the transmission, the throttle response, you were talking about nothing except broad strokes. I couldn't wait one more second for you to actually start taking the car on some curvy roads and discussing how it performed. Maybe you should rewatch and see what I'm talking about
@Daveboy_GolfR thanks for the feedback! My channel’s always been about the tech within and almost like walkthrough guides of the car’s interior so almost what it’s like on the inside if you were to own one. For car reviews and how they handle etc on the road there are many UA-cam Channels out there who can probably talk about car’s handling better than I can at higher speeds with dynamic driving etc. I like to focus on what the average person is probably going to want to look at, with the added tech stuff like driving modes, mild hybrid etc. However…I’m always looking at improving the videos especially now as I cover other brands rather than just the one so I’ll look to add that sort of stuff for the on the road parts.

No sadly don’t recall seeing any when I was there but the car was a pre-production vehicle for filming so check with Mercedes themselves to be sure 🤓
Wish it was 4 doors.
Good video as always Nick👌
Thank you! 🙏
CLE 63 will also be 2 door? @npoleary
I’ve heard rumours of one so that would be cool if one does come out. Yeah CLE is two door so no matter what the engine is, it’ll have two doors.
If you’re after more doors then C-Class Saloon 🤓 that’ll give you 4 doors
@npoleary I really love the look of CLE, so I'll just have to be okay with 2doors.this car is so beautiful it replaced my all time favorite CLA 45s
I’m always open to feedback for making my videos better so I can pop the hood for sportier cars like AMG’s in future 🤓
On my channel I like to focus on a lot more of the tech side of things so naturally there will be more multimedia system stuff shown in the videos.
And for the rear seats, I have to at least show them, otherwise it wouldn’t be a full review of the car, but I could shorten it possibly?
👌👌👌👌
I like it but it’s just too much C and not enough E.
If the engine is not hand built by one person , with the person signature on it , it not a true AMG PERIOD . Mercedes dealership would tell you that .
That is true. But this AMG-lite car is still phenomenal. I would prefer AMG label reserved for "1 man 1 engine". Mercedes needs an alternative designation for these vehicles.
One man one engine?
No not on the 53 engines that Mercedes offer, that's reserved for the 63's
Why are you driving on the wrong side of the road?
There’s been a couple of videos where I drive on the other side of the road but sadly not this one, I was in the UK! 🤓
How does this sound worse then a 2022 c43 amg. 💀
pronounced coooop..coupay..lol
Looks great but how long would you dare leave it on the drive un attended or some asshole in a car park parking that close to it
I’d park on the other side of the car park 😅
For parking on the drive, security cameras, faraday porches and the works (just in case)
Although I will add, modern Mercedes keys are pretty good where they turn off after a few mins 👍🏼
ppleease invert the image, the wheel is infornt of the passenger 🙈🙈🙈
Haha 😛
There’s been a couple of cars I’ve featured on video with the wheel on the other side 🤓
seats and stitching looks really cheap for that price. 10:15 not the first time I've notice this. :(
Perfect body for a V8…, that sound is just an insult to the brand.
Would you please kindly pick a pile for me.
This is the cut off! Anything with a 43 badge is just nonsense.
decent. The matte black is hideous, though. It would be nicer with convertible option.
I believe they’ve just announced the convertible version too
Sure is a lot of fake parts for a $60k car. What's is this a Hot Wheels?
Man that interior is hideous, old steering wheel and dashboard are so much nicer then this!
Which model did you prefer? The C-Class or E-Class?
@npoleary I had a 2020 e 53 but I did like the c class to
Fair enough 😊
not sure why, but it looks ugly to me... I love the new E class, but this is a miss. I prefer the Audi's. RS5 sportback might be a different class, about 100k tricked out, but i love it.
Un ecran en guise de compteurs .......moche ....
The interior is absolutely awful. A friend's brother got a brand new s63 for almost 300k €, and it has the same stupid tablets
I can't understand how you can get a 50k C class and a 300k S63 and have virtually identical looking dashboards and tablets.. 🤦🏻🤦🏻
Lose the ugly matte paintwork...why do they do that..???..needs a V8 also..
Yeah a V8! Would be cool 👌🏼
Oh my God I can't stand you.. You don't stop talking, instead of just finally driving the car. Do a freaking pull already. I'm waiting and waiting and waiting.. What a nightmare
I have chapters on my video so you can skip ahead if just want to get to the driving part 🤓
