those guys on social media forget that sometimes people don't want the most expensive to run option. I use my e53 as a daily, over 700km of fuel range and comfortable set up. You can't do that as easy in a 63. The GTR gives me backpain

But then I thought to myself, for twice the price of the e53, is it twice as different? Both large no b pillar coupes. So I guess I'm skipping on my dream Mercedes coupe, keeping the e for comfort and getting something really sporty instead. The SL63 doesn't charm me enough, then I'd rather take the 2020 S63 cab. The 2020 GTR is a sweet spot, costs around 50 grand less than a Turbo S here, is just as fast as the regular Turbo and has a V8 transaxle set up.

It's a bit too pricey, but other than that a really good form of transportation, with a glorious V8. We can be thankful 2 door coupes are still a thing and not only suvs. 3.0 seconds dead to 60 seems like plenty of performance to me, considering it's a versatile gran turismo

Have had mine for a month. This car really shines when pushing it in curvy mountain roads. Around town comfort mode works best. And for cleaning those wheels, just pay for a wash! Great video guys, very enjoyable to watch.

Thats one thing people dont realize when these expensive cars get cheap… the parts cost basically the same as when the car was new.
Actually this car has no competition of you look at the mix of the price, technology, quality, design and performance. Reason is simple. Almost everyone else was stupid enough to focus on disposable junk EVs and forgot how great cars should be like.
I bought this car a few days ago, black on black as a commuter to and from work. I own a '23 Range Rover SV that I had been using as my daily, but I was putting too many miles on it, so I bought this to split some of the miles. My CLE 53 has the Forged Cross Spoke wheels in Black (a little different than the car featured in the video, and I like mine better as they have a little more space between the spokes and they look more aggressive to me), black interior with the yellow stitching which is 🔥🔥. It's a damn thrill to drive. So much car for the price. I've owned an Audi R8 V10, and while this car obviously doesn't hold a candle to that car when it comes to power, it's still quite thrilling to drive, and the daily useable power is still there. The torque and power are available across the rev range as well. No turbo lag whatsoever. The interior of the car is also phenomenal. No one does interior ambient lighting quite like Mercedes-Benz. The quality of the interior is quite nice as well. Driving it, everything feels super solid, and the car feels extremely planted, and rigid, without feeling harsh. It's a car you can drive aggressively, and it's not going to beat you to death like some sports cars will. I'm really happy with my purchase.
Love mine. Nice balance. Really all the performance you require, nice feature set and great looks. Glad you liked the wheels too. Some don’t and they cite cleaning difficulties. I’ll be fine. Ceramic coated the wheels which should aid in washing them.
I think it's a beautiful car, I6's are almost always highly tunable and reliable while still sounding great, and I'm really looking forward to seeing the 4.0 TT V8 in this beautiful widebody coupe.

@@fubu45 That 4 cylinder that you are talking about is a missile. 0 to 60 in 2.9 seconds per Car and Driver. Yes the sound is not as good as the V8 but it still has good sound and it is faster than the V8 and that is what is more important to me. Also the 4 cylinder gets a lot better gas mileage than the V8.
Years ahead, but look back in 20 years and see which looks better and timeless. Maybe we don’t notice it now… but bmw knows what they’re doing with their odd design choices.

I just got an allocation for the LCI m440i convertible. Basically a fully loaded spec and its MSRP is less than a midspec cle53. Ive seen a few on the road already and they look great, but with my personal experience with Mercedes, BMW has a superior driving feel. Any Mercedes below 80k feels like a tractor to me with its clunkiness. Definitely test drive before you pull the trigger

Looks better than a beamer for sure. I have mixed feelings on any car that has an unnecessary huge grill. The LC500 did it beautifully because it feels well integrated, the Lexus IS350/IS500 grill makes it look like John Wick's beard. The GR86 is very moderate and just right. BMW and Mercedes seem to stretch the front to fit the grill like an oversized denture but its more a BMW problem. The taillights on this Mercedes also look like an Infiniti Q60 but not as good. Overall, still looks nice.
Would not make sense for a bigger model to have a smaller engine, that would be an insanely bad look for AMG. Maybe this same engine but with a heavy hybrid?

Thats 15 000$ less than the model you reviewed and a base M4 coupe will start at 95 000$ giving you 5k of options to get to this CLE price point lol..... The base M4 wont be xdrive at this price so I understand the comparison with the M440i but that puts stuff in perspective... I would 100% go M4 for that kind of money !
It sure looks a lot better than the BMWs exterior design language, but it is basically the same price as a base M3, and very close to a base M4. Even though I hate the grille, I'd probably still go BMW just because I really don't like the Mercedes infotainment or interior design. Give me the CLE exterior design with BMW Green paint and BMW Tartufo interior and infotainment, but these new AMG wheels and the AMG toggleable AWD/RWD. That would be THE car!

I have been so impressed with my 2015 rwd E400 3.5 twin turbo coupe.....I bought it as a stopgap but it's superb....with only 53000 miles it's in great condition.... software map has turned it into a monster....now every bit as fast as my 2016 E63 wagon....and it does 28mpg.....finally got over the 8 cylinder obsession.....6 cylinders is enough

AMG GT63 was a massive disappointment. Wouldn't get ur hops up. AMG seems to be more of a badge these days then actual performance.

I currently drive M340 and was considering to switch to M440 soft top, but now you guys got me rethinking. This is going to be tough.

I have been so impressed with my 2015 rwd E400 3.5 twin turbo coupe.....I bought it as a stopgap but it's superb....with only 53000 miles it's in great condition.... software map has turned it into a monster....now every bit as fast as my 2016 E63 wagon....and it does 28mpg.....finally got over the 8 cylinder obsession.....6 cylinders is enough

Wait, why does the trunk badge pop up when you stop? Obviously a camera there, but I've never seen a car that auto shows 360 view at a stop sign for no reason.
This and the CLE 300 have been doing that for us
