I’m not through the video yet but I find it funny I was just discussing this same topic with family. So I got curious yesterday and was counting the amount of clothes my husband and I own each. We literally each own 4 pairs of shoes. I was discussing this with my mom last night because recently she was saying she “needs” to get another pair of shoes. My mom owns at least 23 pairs of shoes the last time I was helping her organize her closet. She does not “need” another pair of shoes. 😂 My mom’s sister/my aunt literally owns over 100 pairs of shoes. I have near understood why some people have such a shoe obsession. 😮
UK too. Water proof boots, gym trainers and uggs. Sometimes sandals and slippers. I hope to combine ugg boots and water proof boots in the future. I would love to own roller skates or ice skates but where I live that isnt possible. I think I need snow boots for the weather we are about to endure. Great hack, fluffy insoles for winter shoes that might be too big on you!
I live in a four season climate too, but we have a much colder winter than you… and way too much snow. I couldn’t get by with the rubber things to cover my shoes. We’ve sometimes had 8 feet of snow. My feet would freeze. 🥶 If it wasn’t for this I could probably get my shoe collection down to about 5 or 6. Right now (with winter boots) I think I have 12 pairs. I’ll be decluttering 2-4 pairs as soon as they wear out. Not planning on replacing them.
Lydia how do you get away with out having a pr of rain boots in England also make sure you get cork protector for your Birkenstocks I have the same pair as you I put the cork protector on at least once per yr your Birkenstocks look like it has worn off already
I’m always looking for a good waterproof shoe that can be winter, hiking, sneaker, smart enough to look good going out - the waterproofing is usually the tricky bit (Australian retailers like to pretend it doesn’t rain here) I have a goretex Salomon pair that tick most of the boxes, but I wish they were more barefoot. Shoes are hard!
That’s an interesting one 😂 I think we do just hide in the winter in my town. I suppose that is when something like a Chelsea boot may well be a better option than an Ugg boot. I do like my shoes to be pull on 😂 Quick and easy for nipping out. 😊
What happens if the uggs get wet in the rain? Are they waterproof? And for those who are considering to get a pair of the barefoot style, know that you need a period of adaptation. If you go and run in those shoes and have never worn them before the pain can be terrible 😢
The uggs are waterproof yes although, they would start to look quite tarnished if you wore them in the rain a lot. So I tend to wear my barefoot ones in the rain as they have an even more waterproof, wipeable outer. 😊
I own 2 pairs of shoes that I wear year round. Sneakers/trainers and indoor slippers. I used to have a pair of flip-flops/thongs for summer use but in October of 2023 I fell down some basement stairs and broke both of my feet. I believe shoes should be practical and safe...
I thought a lot about this especially since I've been decluttering shoes for a while. I've got it down to about 40 pair and I've got my eye on 3 or 4 pairs that I know I can let go of but #1 I already bought these shoes before I started a minimalist journey. So getting rid of them is a waste of money even if I hold on to them and don't wear them until 5 years from now they will eventually be worn. But more importantly I actually do all my shoes. There is medical evidence it is very unhealthy for the ' to wear this same shoes everyday. I like to change up my shoes because I do have some football problems. I also have numerous periods of running shoes. For the same reason because My ' shouldn't be in the same running shoes everyday. So I say if you've already got the shoes and there's something that you will wear if not now in the future hang on to them. That is a total 0 waste stop If you never gonna wear that yeah give them to somebody else so be great. But over overall only having a couple pairs of shoes is probably not healthy for your ' in the long run
I meant if someone was going to live in one pair, possibly hypothetically. Because they really like a certain shoe, that they feel ticks all the boxes for them 😊
I mention that at the end of the video, that my intentions are to customise it after all. I had a change of heart just after filming the previous video.
Favourite Shoe that you’d live in, if you could only have one pair ⬇️ 👟 👡 🥿 👞 👠 🩴

I know 😂 it’s insane 🤯 who tells us we ‘need’ all these different types. In different colours 🙄 😂.

Yes I can imagine that amount of snow is difficult ❄️ 🧊 😊

I just get wet 😂 the barefoot trail shoes are quite waterproof 😊

Shoes are very hard. 😊
Any suggestions what to wear if you had to dress up in the cooler fall and winter months?

Good point… I personally don’t do too much in the winter months that I need to get dressed up either. I do like the idea of a Chelsea boot… Thanks.
Would love to see a coats/jackets one!
That may be very short 😂 as I only have 1 coat and 2 jackets. I am doing an updated wardrobe tour soon. So I’ll feature everything in that 😊 🧥
I don't understand shoes obsession neither as I always wear the same pair 🤣
Ufff 😮💨 you keep the Uggs 🙌🏻😂♥️♥️♥️
😂 😂 yes the uggs are like winter slippers for me 😂 ♥️
