You convinced me. I went straight to my closet and got my blue Birkenstock’s out because they never molded to my feet right. Straight to the garage sale pile.
It's a bummer that the donation centers are all closed. Once I decide to declutter something, I want it out of the house. I like those shoes bins for the closet. Very nice.
Thank you Samantha, I agree it feels great to get the donation items out right away. I am actually putting some of my donations in my car since we aren't driving anywhere at the moment. It has become a good storage area LOL.
One thing I did was to join a facebook group about donating/giving away items in my neighborhood. I have already given away my maternity clothing and a baby noise machine.
Hi Shannon.. I am playing catchup on both channels. We just moved to another State from CA. I have put off for now my spring seasonal declutter; as all of the donations places are closed. I didn't want any bags of items in the garage until I can take them. My family and I are all healthy; and from catching up; yours is too. Take care.
It's so nice to hear from you Jan! I hope your move went smoothly and I know how that feels to not want a bunch of stuff sitting in the garage. It's great to hear you are healthy. I hope you are enjoying your new place. 💛
Tips: Determine how often you are wearing your shoes. Based on mileage, shoe materials loose integrity, hence why it is recommended you have 2 pairs of running shoes if you exercise regularly. The running shoes should be rotated every other day to allow the shoe to recover its support capacity for your next exercise session. Flip flops, flat sandals(think jelly shoes) and mules have foot health implications (search online). Lifespan of a flip flop is typically 3-4 months (because of daily use and mileage). Especially cheap foam rubber flip flops should not be a daily footwear. They are best as shower shoes if using public showers. Better quality and shoes with a heel strap will provide better back and foot health. Man made materials such as polyurethane will degenerate with humid conditions and will lose integrity. Shoes will be tacky, heels break off, foam dry rots, etc. So it is a very good idea to keep minimal shoes for each season and get rid of 'cheap fast fashion trends' on a yearly basis because fast fashion isn't high quality versus Allegria or Dansko brands. Look at materials and know lifespan on many man made materials are 1 year. If shoes are worn daily for 6, 8, 10 hours or more, toss and replace every 4 to 8 months depending on mileage for best health effects.
I have those IKEA boxes to : ) I use them for t-shirts, tanktops, yoga clothes and beachwear. I have a shelf in my closet, under my hangingrack (only hanging tops or folded short things). Since I don´t need all the length of the rack for hanging items I have a stack of the IKEA shoeboxes on one side of the the shelf for "small clothes" . They are quite handy and I don´t have and drawers in the bedroom.
I’ve been trying to find a pair of boots like that forever! I wore out my last brown pair and haven’t had luck for the last 2 years - not online either. Not sure what you mean by “come back in style” lol I think boots are a classy/classic look 😎
I was thinking that the comment I made about them not being in style might not have made sense, but when I have these boots on they are really really tall and they sort of look like pirate boots. Not that it matters what is in style, but I guess I don't see a lot of people where I live wearing them. I hope you are having a nice week.
Normally I donate everything almost immediately because we have a charity shop right around the corner from our home, so typically I will just stick everything in a bag and put it in my car right away. Since everything is shut right now with the Quarantine I am just putting everything in a bag and sticking it in the garage for now.
I like the shoes declutter task you posted but I feel cringey at the thought of keeping my shoes in the closet above my clean clothes. Lol! In our future home, there will be a shoe cabinet (yes from IKEA haha) by the entrance/exit. Kon Marie touched on that subject too. :)
Definitely do what works for you. I would never put dirty shoes in my closet. I don't like seeing shoes by the door, so we just put them away after we take them off. 😁
Great work! But know that shoes should NEVER be thrown away! The ones that are too worn out, broken, etc to donate because they simply cannot be worn anymore, can be RECYCLED instead! There are materials in some shoes, sneakers especially, that won't disintegrate for thousands of years! But they can be recycled! Never ever throw shoes in the trash!
Nice methods for decluttering, but wow, that shoe collection is birth control. 🙈 How about some elegant ballet flats, or a simple low heel pump for going out? 🤯
That’s a little harsh. Not everyone’s looking for a booty call. Depending on your lifestyle and also being a mother can really change your entire wardrobe, especially shoes when you’re running after children. Luckily there are all types of shoes for all types of women.😊

OmG, tkssss I am doing this today! You are such an inspiration 🙌🏼😘
Thank you! So happy you were inspired and I hope you have a nice day. 😍
I love Bear Traps too!
Lety🌟
Thank you for watching Lety and I hope you are doing well.
How do you store tons of flip flops?
Very helpful the video thanks a lot 😊
Glad it was helpful!
I go through my shoes every time I purchase a new pair. I also go for comfort. My goal is to have shoes that don't feel lile I'm wearing any ha ha
I love that level of comfort! I am the same way, I hope you have a nice day.
Do you keep your any of your shoes in the original boxes?

Where do you store the items as you gather them up and save them to donate?

Good video and declutter.
Thank You! I hope you are doing well.
Shannon Torrens Welcome! I am doing well.
What you do with The Boots
If I remember right I think I decluttered them LOL
@@shannontorrens1 the Boots in trash ?
I just started decluttering. I cannot beleive I have 80 pairs 🤯🤯🤯... I want to get it down to 40 or less(hopefully less)
💖
I take pictures of my shoes and place a picture on the outside of the shoe box. It is a no cost way to keep shoes organized.
Great idea!

I want to declutter again but I don’t have space to gather everything. I need those donations locations open!!!! 😂
It does make it hard when there is no where to take donations. I hope you have a nice day.
I'll take the low heel boots from you. Good job clearing out your shoes. Love MOM
They are yours!!!

I *so* need to do this! #newsub
Thank you for joining us. I hope you have a great weekend.

To each their own.
