I WORE THE SAME OUTFIT FOR 30 DAYS AND IT FELT LIKE 100 DAYS 😂 ________________________________________ VIDEO MENTIONED ⬇️ EXTREME MINIMALIST 3L Life | Living w/ Just a BUM BAG![14 POSSESSIONS] ua-cam.com/video/EpdbI2t35qQ/v-deo.html ________________________________________ You can subscribe to my youtube channel for FREE below ⬇️or: MY UA-cam SUBSCRIBE LINK ua-cam.com/users/SagelifeMinimalism
I told no one and wore the same black dress for 100 days. It was an interesting social experiment. Nobody noticed or cared. This included my husband, family, and closest friends. It did take them all by surprise when I told them, and now, every so often, they will ask, "Didn't you wear that yesterday?" They kind of express it as a joke and reflect on the experiment they were unknown players in.
There's a woman in Canada that documented wearing a black dress for an entire year. She intentionally bought a sleeveless dress, below the knee, so she could wear a t-shirt or tights and turtleneck with it and cover our seasons (-30°C-+30°C). It was very interesting!♥️🍂
@@amandazplace5663I did Withey's one year one dress for a year in 2023. I started getting bored around month 9. 😂 I made the dress from a linen cotton blend and lined it with Bemberg so it would withstand the stress of wearing it every day and have more breathability. Plain charcoal gray. It was not a knit fabric, I'm not sure it would have held up, although Withey did it with a bamboo knit unlined dress. Not my style but a year is a LONG time in the same thing every day. 😅
The Uniform Project, the 365 Day Dress Project, Project 333, 7 Item Wardrobe Challenge... these were all happening 10-20 yrs ago, now... always fascinated me. I enjoy seeing new versions and people's choice of clothing. I myself did the 7 Item challenge for 40 days and found I'd made good choices that I enjoyed but not sure I'd be so successful with my current wardrobe! But it's absolutely true, nobody notices, nobody is really interested in what we wear and most of all, we waste way too much energy on worrying about what we wear!! I know I do, too, and have to keep reminding myself.
I had a friend that traveled to India years ago. She met a man that was helpful to her. She wanted to gift him with a new shirt. He said no thank you because he already owned two shirts and felt he was very rich, and didn’t need more clothing.
Love that. I think we have forgotten the real purpose of our clothing and got caught up in aesthetics. How much more simple life could be. That is something to reflect and learn from
I wore the same dress for a year. I worked in an office so I also wore a blazer over it. One to keep warm but also look office appropriate. I ended up buying 3 of the same dress in the same color so they wouldn't wear out as fast.
Once again I think this makes a lot of sense! I've rotated through about 4 dresses for the past 8 years. I did change the dresses this year once I understood that wearing colours that suited me made a big difference, but I bought those on Vinted and now rotate through this different set of 4 dresses. I must say, I love the colours now more than I ever liked my mostly navy (and later also dark green) "uniform" previously, which I had started to wear to simplify my wardrobe in 2011. I'm now a huge fan of Carol Brailley's colour analysis videos on UA-cam. I can really see the difference it made when I changed my "uniform" colours. I have so much more joy than I did before. The reason I started rotating through 4 dresses was mostly laziness and not wanting to buy a lot of clothes when I gained weight. I feel like 4 is a good amount for me, but I could go up to 6 or 7 and still feel good, I think. When I travel I just bring 2. Even just one dress in my new colour scheme makes me so happy because I can see how it enlivens my skin. I will often wear the same dress for most of the week and maybe switch it over the weekend. I will never doubt the power of wearing the best colours for me! None of this would have been possible if not for finding a deodorant that works and doesn’t bleach the pits with baking soda/sodium bicarbonate (I love Esca and Chapel is my second fave), and also figuring out that garlic was responsible for the odour all along! When I was young I ate soooo much garlic and suffered a lot until I found the combo of baking soda and rock salt that got rid of the odour. But of course the baking soda bleaches clothes! Love your videos - I always learn something new! (American living in the UK, which is why I spell the UK way but still use American words)
I love the idea of variety each day. Even a fresh tshirt with same pants second day in a row. It feels like a fresh start each day. That and clothes worn more than a few days in a row do get a stale feel. For me at least.
That's very interesting! I like when you said it's like spices if you put too much you dont know what's inside. I love capsules wardrobes, to have a little choice but if I stay at home I don't mind wearing same outfit as long as it's clean 😁♥️
Definitely a interesting social experiment, I could wear the same pants and only have to wash them a couple of times a week, but think I'd want small variety in tops. I find it interesting as well the difference between men's wardrobes and women's. For years business men have gotten away with only owning a couple of suits and just changing their shirts and ties daily and everyone considers it completely normal, whereas I don't think a business woman would be able to do that and not have others in the office notice, so there's that aspect to it as well.
I like having a very small wardrobe for the same reason. 33 items for everything. Across all 4 seasons. But 1 outfit was abit too restrictive for myself 😂
This would be too annoying for me as I wouldn't want to have to wash my clothes every day. I only do 1 load of washing a week for my clothes so I need a week's worth. I often wear the same outfit for several days as at my work we have a set uniform. Its convenient I guess and because everyone wears it no one is feeling embarassed wearing the same thing every day. But even then I have multiples of the same shirt because I just don't want to have to wash every night!
You don't have to wash your clothes after every wear! Sounds very wasteful and irrational in general. If you don't sweat too much and don't work in a garden or something like that, then you don't have to (and even shouldn't) wash your clothes THAT often. It just doesn't get dirty that fast, and it wears out much more quickly if you wash it too often. I'm autistic and care a lot (like, A LOT) about hygiene, so I've done a lot of research and have observed my own sensations throughout a couple of years, and that's why I decided to reply and share this :) You should look at your clothes and smell it, and wash it only if it is actually dirty. Usually it takes 3-6 wears for my T-shirts to get dirty, and for pants it's more like 7-15 wears. If you change your underwear daily and shower regularly, of course :)
@@aelyndorren yes I don't wash my trousers after every wear, but after a day at work my shirt feels kinda dirty and smelly 😝 I feel better in a clean one the next day.
@@aelyndorren I agree, I am happy you did such research. For me unfortunately I can wear tops with sleeves just 2x, it usually stinks a lot after second wear, but other clothes I don´t wash that often, I want them to serve me longer too.
@aelyndorren Not sure if your comment relates to the video or Krissy k but… I do personally sweat a lot and also I wash my clothes on cold wash in an economical washer on a short wash
