"This whole film is a fun expression of untapped potential."
Love this movie so much, just wanna hear these guys talk for hours.
Daniel Kwan felt like he had to explain why it took so long, but I love hearing that an art piece took a long time. I wish more people would take longer on their scripts / art. Like what literally do not be embarrassed about that. This is one of the first new movies in a while that I really enjoyed.
I just gotta say it was great to see asian actors getting to be in these kind of roles saying these kind of things. Been a long time coming and hope there's more to come. Thanks Daniels! Keep it going!
this is how you make your own concepts and create your own movies without changing the race of a character as some other companies do... ahem disney
Respect these guys so much not selling out to the greedy emotionless marvel franchise to direct loki and created this masterpiece and one of the best and most meaningful movie ever. Especially when nothing matters.
In this interview, they literally say that comments like this are stupid, specifically at 12:30
They literally make fun of ppl like you in the vid ☠️
This is missing a lot of the point they're making.
My left ear loves this!
6 years! Now I know why lines were so good!
It's interesting how their approach to this movie was different from Swiss Army Man, which started as a collection of things they didn't like (fart jokes, acapella) so they could provide their unique spin on it and make sure they liked it. I thought they were doing the same with multiverse movies, but it sounds like this was deliberate to put their best foot forward.
Wow!! I loved this movie and saw it 3 times in theaters. I also really enjoyed Swiss Army Man, although that one isn’t admittedly fit everyone. I have long pointed to SAM as the only example of a time where I laughed at fart jokes. I also don’t like acapella. I didn’t know that was their approach and love it.
I understand that the blockbuster elements were important to the formula, the martial arts energy and visuals, but all of that so beautifully slides into the background in the crucial moments, when the movie slows down, the magical realism goes into pause mode, and the emotions are finally front, center and naked. Amazing amazing film.
Only one ear was needed to recieve all that love - thank you guys for a wonderful film and thank you That Shelf for being awesome.
Swiss Army Man was great. Everything Everywhere All At Once was a masterpiece. These guys have proven themselves, I'll be tuning in for whatever is to come because they are brilliant.
Absolutely fantastic question
12:25 FUCK YES so nice to hear this.
Loved this interview! I never knew about how awesome these guys are. Great questions and fun following this conversation
I’d love to read the script, so curious to see how they put this magic on paper!
Can't wrap my head on how one writes a movie like this.
@@andresbarriga5305same it blows me away
SUCH AN AWESOME FILM EXPERIENCE, YOU GET SO MANY MOVIES IN ONE!!
Talented guys, looking forward to more.
This movie was amazing and restored my faith in cinema. Please guys don’t do what the Donny Darko director did for his follow on: he went too weird and stuck too much to the same “bizarre” energy and it didn’t work. I can also think of the Drive director where he did that gangster movie in Thailand but again just relied more on energy and feeling too much and it didn’t work either.
Would love to see the storyboard to this movie lol
I need to read the script
Magnolia! 🫶🏻🫶🏻🥺🥺
