You can immediately tell this is a film that was 10 years in the script process, and that it was influenced by the post-irony political landscape of 2016+. Daniels talked about injecting 'empathy tests' (the hotdog fingers universe) that the audience will either fail to pass or be able to pass with applied empathy. Its a film that separates those who understand postmodern, post-irony, meta-memetic media and the ones who are incapable of coming up to the brink of nihilism and chaos and finding a way through to accepting the simple message of "be kind, especially when we dont know what's going on". Its a litmus test, and people who get it get it, and people who dont get it shouldn't be trusted to talk about art.
I just watched it after having heard you two talk about it. A totally different experience than what the mainstream has to offer. I'm still trying to figure out how to interpret what I saw. Being a long time after effects artist myself, having supervised and produced VFX for a range of contents I must admit that I didn't see any "errors" of any kind, because I was totally concentrating on the story - and that's all that counts for me. The shallow tsunami of meaningless superhero, star wars or whatever else franchises leave me completely unimpressed but this thing moved me quite a bit. Thanks for the recommendation!
@@HugosDesk You're very welcome! :-) And also thanks for your great videos about Nuke, I'm currently getting deeper into it after several years of pause and they're extremely helpful!
I can't listen to any episodes on either Google Podcasts or Pocket Casts. I can see the notes for each episode, but get an error when trying to play them.
Just watched it once. Don't have the patience to watch it a second time. It felt like they just put 1000s of photographs together. "EEAO" movie is the "Cats" movie of 2022. Both bizarre. Both are aneurysm-inducing. In "Every garbage Everywhere Else," literally they put whatever meaningless surrealistic garbage on there. Sticky notes, donut holes, hot dog limbs, moving stones! Embarrassingly bizarre!
@@cinekane2992 They also gave a man, woman of the year award. What's your point? They give Oscars to people for being black for crying out loud. Oscars suffer from inflation almost as much as US dollars. Somehow they are everywhere all at once. That is what happens when you don't respect merit, you give things away for political or ideological reasons. Academy Awards were always shifty but these days they are absurd. I suppose its only appropriate to give academy awards to absurd films.

Sorry, but we only have the Podcast available on UA-cam now. It will not be available on any other platforms anymore. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.
