- Schecter's manufacturing and design impresses me once again! So much so, that it has changed my opinion on 8 string guitars. This is the Schecter Hellraiser Hybrid C-8. I borrowed this guitar for a music video shoot and now I don't want to give it back! What's one guitar, am i right?
Yes, I'm not much of a djent player, so I'm using this extended range guitar in a more traditional way. Lots of musical fun to be had though!

That ultraviolet finish is so damn good, I've had my eyes on a 6-string with the same color. Also those dark chrome covers on the pickups really give it the perfect finishing touch.

for me as a drummer, 8 string is an incredible tool, especially for tapping, I don't get why many guitarist hate it so much. It's not like it's made for people who can't play 6 strings, it gives you soo much more sounds and possibilities to play
Many just hate extra strings. I get rebuked often online when talking about the 6 string bass I play. I'm like its art, like it or move along?
@@brianw.359 I’ve always wanted an extended range guitar/bass, But I’ve only played for two years on guitar. (I mainly play slipknot so I have most except for on of my guitars in either drop b or drop a.) Since I feel like I should get a bit better (even though I can fluently play Eeyore) I shall quote mick Thomson. “ Why get a seven string if you haven’t mastered six?”
I think most people don’t like 8 strings just because of the fact that the tuning is so disgustingly close to 4 string bass tuning. Why don’t we play bass? You can do more with an 8 string. More strings = more possibilities. I think it might also be the fact that a lot of people who use 8 string guitars don’t even use all of the strings, which is something I try my very best to avoid doing
I have this guitar and I absolutely love it! When playing an 8-string for the first time it takes a minute to get used to the picking, it just doesn't feel right at first, but once you get used to it the sky is the limit with this thing. It opened up so many more possibilities for song writing

Schecter is just a damn good company. My first 7string is a banshee elite 7. And its still my favorite guitar the supercharger pickups are amazing. Half bass quarter treb and max mids! Crushes!

If you like looks of this guitar, but don't want an 8-string, then Schecter already did a 6-string version of this. And also a 7-string PT Hybrid. Both in this gorgeous UV finish

If you ever want to do another 8 string review I recommend the DKAF8 MS by Jackson. Picked up a gloss black one earlier this year for $660 new.
I want one! Sadly, it's hard to find knowledgeable dealers here.

These are my favorite guitars form schecter. Buying a 6 string model in pt form soon. Have a solo -ii model of one of these and it’s hands down the best mid range guitar I’ve played.

My main two guitars right now are my Kiesel 6 string and my Ibanez RG 8 strings. I barely ever use the 8th string yet I'm happy that it's there so I don't feel limited. If I ever want to accentuate a chord or riff and play it an octave lower, I CAN! And that feeling is amazing, knowing that I can always do more.

I love Schecter. I have 3 of them, but my favorite is a used Damien-6 with the passive EMG's/string thru and those batwing inlays. It sounds so awesome thru tube amps. I want one more: a PT special with the P90. I am not worthy of that crazy 8-string heh.
Those pinch harmonics you were doing sounded insane Max! This is a more advanced playing instrument so not for me yet, the for the great demo.

I bought me a Left Handed Schecter C-8 Diamond Series Hell Raiser for 400$ In perfect Condition with case on Offer Up and I never played a 8 string guitar and I always wanted to own a Schecter due to there awesome Tone. well looking at there reviews and playing it , I definitely got a deal If I may say so. love the video ! your playing is greatness. *When I owned my Agile 8-string… what I did was set it up so I had one lower string and one higher string compared to a more traditional 6-string guitar. 🍀🏆👑🎧 I think that’s best for the industrial music I create.*

I've always just played a 6 string myself. I have only ever owed & played one 7 string. A Chris Garza signature by Schecter. Same with an 8 string guitar. It was a Agile Interseptor ( I think it was that model ) I had each guitar for a few months. And got rid of them...
For me being a lefty , I never have had a chance to play others. At some point I'd like to. Play one by
Schecter again , also Ibanez , esp.

My Hellraiser Hybrid is the 6 string FR version in that exact same color.
OH MAN I'M DYING FOR THIS GUITAR!!! I Have the classic Hellraiser C8 black cherry and I love it. But since this once came out I'm getting desperate for one. Question, are the pickups splitable?
Not splitable. Want a single pickup sound? Get a fender style, this is not gonna sound good on this kind of guitars.
Is Max endorsed by Schecter now? I love schecter and glad to see the videos recently highlighting how cool they are

I just got my first one yesterday and it feels about the same as my Jackson Mick Thomson sig, And I absolutely love both so much. I threw my Schecter into drop A while I have my Jackson in drop B, Love them so much they feel so good to play on.

How is the scale length? It's 28" so it would definitely affect play all over the neck.
Just lower your string gauge on the high strings to compensate.

Wondering about some clean chord sounds? I see 9 and even ten string guitars out there, where the fattest strings are as fat as the fatter ones on my four string bass. This is really tempting to try.

I used to own a 7- string demon by schecter wasnt a bad guitar but could've done better on the pickups. Ended up trading it in for a 7- string Fernandes which was like an upgrade. But would so get this 8 string.
Epic Guitar only Thing is it Needs to Have Fanned Frets once it Get to 8 Strings Still Super Epic Tho.
