Seriously, guys. I don't see the point of spending 2000 pounds/dollars to get a high end guitar when you can afford this 1000 pound/dollar guitar. I have 3 Hellraiser Hybrids at home , 2 of them are 7 string guitars and the other one is an 8 string, and I am soooo happy with them because they have everything I need in terms of sound, neck, comfort, recording ... Everything !!! I highly recommend it
Ya also I'd rather see minivans racing gt what's with these porches and Ferraris? 90% perfect is easy 95% twice as hard and 99% is almost impossible. 90% is generous for schecter you want 99? Schecter sucks? Dumbest thing i heard. These are the best value for money guitars today. I got the hellraiser hybrid c1 fr and c8 and a Banshee elite 7. All amazingly built, great sound and super comfortable. And all full of features no one provides today in the same price range. Ltd left behind
@@striven82 hellraiser hybrid because i prefer mahagony body. It sounds fuller and more oldschool metal.and the emgs on it are insane. The banshee is a superb build and comfortable but sounds too thin for me, more for prog and djent and stuff i dont listen to or play. I put dimarzios on it so it sounds better but still im gonna sell it and get a different 7 string. Too bad most of the the new models are swamp ash. It doesnt fit death metal for me.
Same....just got a Schecter Hellraiser Hybrid Ultraviolet and it is every bit equal, if not better quality than my Ibanez Prestiges. Very well made and sounds great....chromatic paint is bitchin....actual carbon fiber binding....ebony fretboard....EMG pickups...hell, the top fret markers freaking glow in the dark....whats not to love? I think people forget that Schecter is owned by the same guy who owns ESP. You can compare them with any other brand in the same price range.
I just picked up a Hellraiser Hybrid. The same on in your video open box for $679. Not a scratch on it. What is the difference between the hybrid and just the regular hellraiser. I really wanted to black cherry finish but I could not pass up the deal on the hybrid. Thank you
The hybrid has the thinner, faster neck from the SLS. I can't recall what other differences there are but I know that the neck is the main thing. Basically took one guitar's body and the other's neck. Hence "hybrid". For under $700 you can't go wrong. Great guitar. Hope you're digging it!
I’ve had a demon 7, Damien 6, hellraiser C1 and now I have my one and only hellraiser V1. Each of these and schecter as a whole are amazing and have the capabilities of every sound in one guitar that you’d ever need. If your friend thinks schecter sucks, he’s either never played one or jealous that you’re getting one lol
I have have a schecter, and the distortion sounds terrible,(could be the amp, but YOU WISH my schecter would sustain in distortion like you’res does! How in the world do you get it to RInG like that in high gain????
The Marshall JCM900 is a pretty bright amp in general and really helps with the "ring". Also, does your Schecter have active pickups? This guitar is definitely the easiest of all of mine to coax that nice chime out of.
I am an Ibanez addict. I absolutely love RG series. So I ended up buying a brand new Schecter Hellraiser Hybrid PT ultra violet. First of all I was absolutely blown away by the craftmanship. Although I had to do a setup on it and intonate and adjust the truss rod I do that with every new guitar I get. The guitar is flawless and the fact that there was absolutely no sharp fret edges. Ibanez guitars at this price point just do not compare and it hurts me to say that but it is true. It is a high quality instrument and is more like a MIJ Ibanez that I would have to pay about 3 to 4 K for or higher. Just awesome.
I am very much an ibanez guy as well. Nothing else compares with the neck feel of the higher end ibanez. I have been going around trying lots of guitars to maby get something different. I picked up a hellraiser hybrid c1 fr-s and I was in love immediately! I have never looked at schecter in a serious manner and after feeling the ultra thin neck it's almost the same as my rg550. I almost bought the dam thing on the spot lol. Now I'm sitting around trying to reason with myself why I shouldn't go back tomorrow and puck it up lol. Excellent guitar
It definitely was lol. I own 2 Agiles and 7 Schecters. There is a reason why I own those numbers of each lol. Agile's are super sick for an under the radar brand, but Schecter is the best more "mainstream" company for the money with LTD being a very close second.
Its easy to put both pickups on one volume control and I always disconnect the tone knob. These are simple modifications. I even build a complete new electronic system if I have different ideas than the manufacturer, its not that difficult.
You’re right about that it is an absolutely gorgeous guitar. I have had a Schecter diamond series along time ago and I just bought the Hellraiser hybrid in the same finish as yours except mine has a sustainiac in the neck position.
I'm not that big of a fan of the lower budget schecter models but everything above 599€ is definitely useable. I bought a pretty old hellraiser c1 on the used market for 450'ish € and that thing runs like a beast. It's the only guitar I owned which is still completely stock.
I have a schecter Diamond series flying V, it's the best sounding and best feeling guitar I own, But it's definitely not for beginners such as me because of the shape, but they sound awesome, it sounds and feels better than my Fender Strat, and my Oscar Scmidt, Thinking about getting me a Hellraiser, that's why I am here, checking reviews
Schecter has multiple factories , Schecter and ESP have the same ownership , the Korean models seem to be a step above the Indonesian models though, but I personally would probably prefer their Indonesian model over a Chinese model from some of the other "leaders" . But I have really really liked the Korean models I have seen.
i have to admit i never though much of Schecter guitars, I WAS WRONG ... my wife picked up a schecter hellraiser DLX FR at a pawn shop for 200 dollars for me (great gift!) It is amazing! i am amazed at the craftmanship and attention to detail. and the electronics on the guitar. I have to say it gos toe to toe with my Charvel or any of my other guitars. i recently bought a Reaper 6 with the sustainiac and am now a Schecter guitar believer.
tried the tempest version (which should be basically the same) and I was tempted to buy it even though I didn't look for a metal(ish) guitar. especially the connection between neck and body is ultra smooth. I bet there's no more comfortable guitar like that
A little compression, flanger, reverb... The usual sort of stuff that most people have readily available. These pickups are very hot and compressed on their own though. Great guitar.
My complaint was that it had sharp, unlevel frets. Setup is always expected, but that is something i find unexceptable. Its not something that you should have to do to a new guitar even at the mid price level. Part of why i no longer buy ibanez, either. Ive had a hard time finding a better guitars than the prs lines in the same price range.
Where are you buying the Hybrid thats running $1300?? These are 1k tops. I used to have one that I threw some Fishman Fluences in and I absolutely loved that guitar, fantastic stuff. Should have never gotten rid of it but yea...they're not 1.3k lol
A lot of retailers actually have them for around $1300. That's the MSRP on them. I actually only paid $600 for mine. The title is kinda intentionally misleading. But yes, I agree. They can easily be had for under a grand. However, even at MSRP I think it wouldn't be a terrible buy. Great guitar with some solid specs for sure!
@@OutLoudStudios Definitely, really really solid guitars. Schecter has been making fantastic stuff for about the last like 5 or 6 years but they're often overlooked, nice to see them getting the recognition they deserve. :)
Schecter might be good guitars, but $1300 for a Korean axe is crazy. I remember when Schecter first came out, and they were super cheap, and you can buy a goos used USA made guitar for that kind of coin. If this is the guitar of your dreams, more power to you, I just think for where it is manufactured the price should be a way lower.
I agree with that. I never would've paid the $1300. I put that in the title cuz that is the MSRP. These can be had all day for under a grand. I believe for the sub $1000 range they are good guitars. In my opinion certainly a better option than the PRS SE, made in Mexico strats or Epiphone guitars. I appreciate the feedback! Rock on!!
Except korean made instruments have actually way stepped up their quality last few years. Korean made is just fine, ESP, PRSs are made there too. Indonesia is a different story
@Tactical Trex I get where you’re coming from, but this isn’t just a thing with Schecter. Pretty much all companies who offer Korean-made models have increased the prices on them. I’ve seen Korean LTD and PRS SE models priced in the $1000-$1500 range, too. Just saying it’s not fair to only call Schecter out when other companies are doing the same thing.
@@Pundit07 you are right there. It was just a Schecter video, and they do it a lot. But they are definitly not alone. Does Schecter make any USA guitars anymore, or are they all outsourced?
@@tacticaltrex6490 Thanks for clearing that up and being civil. It just irks me how a good number of people within the guitar community are clearly biased and hypocritical when it comes to things like that and hardly anyone else calls that out. It really affects their credibility to me. But that's a rant for another day and I won't get into it right now. Sorry if it came off like I was accusing you, there. Anyway, the answer to your question: Absolutely! The Schecter USA Custom Shop is still active to this day and in my honest opinion, they are doing better than ever. Not only do they offer the classic models from their old days, they started offering more 'modern" guitars for Rock & Metal players. You can even use the configurator to "semi-customize" their USA production models to your liking. Here's a link: www.schecterguitars.com/custom/usa-production/configurator# You can also find some used USA Schecters in good condition for decent prices if you search Reverb and eBay. If you want brand new ones, then Drum City-Guitar Land is the place to go. I know I may sound like a Schecter employee posting an advertisement here, but I assure you I'm just a fan who hopes to have my own USA Custom model someday. They really are an under-appreciated and misunderstood guitar brand in my view.
I have an RG652FX prestige and a PRS Dustie Waring... My old schecter banshee 8 was on par with both of them to be honest as far as construction and lack of flaws, and I just ordered a hellraiser hybrid c-8 that I'm super excited for! Schecter is honestly amazing to me for the quality you get.
I have a decent-sized guitar collection with six Schecters in it. They're all 6 or 7-string models and I bought them all new except one (a Synyster Gates Custom I had to have because it was in that purple/green "Joker" paint scheme). They are, easily, some of my best guitars. I have a Gibson that was nearly $5,000 and a $3,700 PRS that are absolute trash compared to my $1,000 Schecters. Of course, every player is going to be different and every guitar company can make a lemon but, over all, they are great quality and value with good consistency. I bought Japanese-made Ibanez guitars all through the '80s and '90s and they were (I still have them) fantastic. Back around 2012 I was hunting for a new one and had my local shop order a Premium and a Prestige model so I could compare them. I actually thought I would buy them both. The quality was complete sh*t! The fretwork was abysmal, the DiMarzio pickups sounded like mud (I figured out it was cheap pots), and the "satin" neck finish was so raw it made the maple feel like Balsa wood. I thought I was going to get a damn splinter playing them. I returned both and ordered a beautiful Ibanez J Custom instead. That guitar was much better but still not perfect. I played it for a few days and decided I should be more impressed with a guitar costing me more than $3,000. My point is that companies ebb and flow and what is hot and great now is garbage next year but might be epic after that. Go out and play guitars of every brand and buy the one that "feels" right. You're a guitar player. Trust me, your hands and ears will tell you if it's the right guitar. Cheers.
I have a good size pile of guitars including several schecters. I have that guitar and I LOVE IT. I bought it new for $1150 several years ago. Sounds awesome plays even better. No finish issues with mine. I will say the neck did take on a little curve after a year or so and the bridge was slightly high. The neck almost scared me because it was so curved. I gave it a litt tweek ans it straightened right out. I adjusted the bridge too. It's such a fast and smooth playing guitar. I love the pickups too. (Same pick ups in Jeff Loomis schecter guitar btw.)
For an affordable production instrument I really don’t think you can ask for much more. I mean look at the guitar, is it missing any bells or whistles?? It’s “fully equipped” and any guitar is going to need setup for the players individual preferences.
Krispy As Fk I’m thinking between that one, the sls elite evil twin FR S, and Sweetwater exclusive apocalypse c-1 fr s purple reign but I dunno which one. The fish men are some amazing pickups, but I’m kinda leaning more to the Apocalyps :/
I got my Hellraiser from Guitar Center for $250 (used of course). It was in the back and they didn't want to show it because it had broken saddles and 1 string, and was covered in grime and missing a few knobs. I talked them into it. I figured worst case I could get my money out of the pick ups alone. Well, some elbow grease, replacing the broken bits, and re-conditioning the fret board/frets with Gorgomyte, then dropping it off at the luthier for a proper set up for $70 since I'm unfamiliar with a Floyd, it is a nearly new guitar. Deal of the century I tell my wife every time I take it out of the case. Perhaps to the elitists it sucks, but this is a really fine guitar that punchs well above it's price point, let alone what I paid for it.
I spent a number of years playing guitars from a wide range of manufacturer, from the big names to the little names. The first Schecter I played was a Demon-7. It was also, essentially, my first 7-string guitar. I made the decision to buy it after playing it for less than five minutes. I ultimately changed the pickups, but not because the stock pickups were bad. They were actually pretty good. I just wanted to tighten up the bottom end a bit more, so I put EMGs on it, with a 707 in the neck position and an 81-7 in the bridge position. (That 81-7 hits like a precision sledgehammer.) I have had a number of Schecter 6-strings since then, at the various price levels, and the decision to buy those was made about as quickly as with the Demon-7. I then decided to get another 7-string, one with passive pickups, and I found a beautiful black cherry Omen Extreme-7 at a great price. It was awesome with the stock pickups, but when I threw the Seymour Duncan Alpha and Omega set on there, it because an absolute beast. There's nothing passive about the sound coming from those passive pickups! Most recently, I found a good price on a Jeff Loomis 7-string (the first Loomis signature model that Schecter made; essentially a Hellraiser modified to Jeff's specifications) that I had been wanting for a while, but the price was always more than I could afford. It was in excellent (like-new) condition for about half of what it cost new. It came stock with EMG 707s in the neck and bridge, and that combination immediately became my combination of choice. The construction of the guitar is so solid that even before I plugged it into an amp the strings rang out strong and clear. Now, most of my playing is on one of those three Schecter 7-string guitars (and I'm typically playing for anywhere from three to eight hours a day), with a significant portion of my 6-string playing on a Schecter Damien. I've sold or given away most of my other guitars. My next guitar purchase will most likely be a C-7 Hellraiser Hybrid (with a Sustainiac neck pickup, an 81-7 in the bridge, and a Floyd Rose tremolo bridge). I look around searching for guitars that are the best fit for the specifications that I want, and it always comes back around to Schecter. Now, I really don't want anything other than a Schecter. Any time I talk to someone looking to buy a guitar, I say "You can never go wrong with a Schecter." And I mean it. They're beautiful, well-designed, and well-constructed guitars that even the peasantry like me can afford. Anyone who could seriously say that "every Schecter sucks" probably hasn't ever played one that has been properly set up, or, as is frequently the case, is a brand snob who values name prestige over quality. No serious guitarist is going to say that "every Schecter sucks," even if they don't like Schecters for whatever reason (e.g., prefer a different neck radius, prefer a different body design, etc.). Did I mention that I really, really like Schecter guitars?
probably ordering the 7 string version of this in the summer. my buddy has the tele shape 7 string version in the blue purplish color and it sounded and plays amazing
hey man i bought a damien 6 fr and it was poorly set up i had to set up every thing the neck the action the floyd, i even had to shim up the nut omg...
If your friend thinks every schecter sucks then he mustve picked up a C-6SGR and not even tried the omen series. The two cheapest styles in their line up and its a HUGE quality jump. Even the SGR types are pretty great. Kinda like an epiphone les paul 100
People hate Schecter because they can't fathom the fact that the build quality is almost as good as their Jackson and ESP Custom Shop for a dramatic fraction of the price
Some of them do have design/construction flaws which makes them impossible to set up properly. Ex: the fretboard is installed too tall, which doesn't allow you to get the bridge low enough to play well and sound good.
Well, I'm sure Jeff Loomis would disagree with your buddy. After all, he had signature models with Schecter for a decade. Lol As for me, hoping to order my first Schecter this week. So I guess I'll see for myself what they're like.
Ok I need to ask. Are you regular sized and bought a small guitar or is that a regular size guitar and you are just a giant? Your forearm is as long as the base!
Its one of those moments where subjectivity is a moot point. Whether or not something sucks, is like saying you like cold juice. It's all on you and nothing else. In the studio all that matters is the tool and that it nails what you want. There is nothing wrong with the Hellraiser for its sound profile. But thats the thing, components have their cost. If I need the SD's N/S combo, or I need the customs in my ESP then I use it. And its a 4 grand guitar. But price is really irrelevant. You pay for what you need. Dont need something only because of its price.
I think I have a very different concept of metal. I'm doing research about those guitars but despite the explanation (helped, so thanks for that) I wasn't understanding sh** about what I was listening. With so many effects I think my first Phil Pro sounds good also.
Heck. Your buddy is on some "real good stuff". Schecter doesn't suck. I have a bass from them. I got it second hand, and even then, it was THE BEST bass I've played in a while. Better than any of my Ibanez basses.
I got the same exact guitar for Christmas with the sustainiac, at first compared to my other, guitars, which none have active pickups, this was a first for me too with active, youre right,it has to be set up,mines goin Monday to get set up with new strings,so far I love it,but youre right, playing active pickups for the first time vs years of passive, its like going from a domesticated cat to plugging into a raging tiger, but with time ill get used to it ,love it and it doesn't suck
From my experience, Schecter has some of the best guitars I've played. Sure there are better guitars, but for people to brush off Schecter as a bad guitar shows that they don't really know what they're talking about, or they're just on this absurd bandwagon. I'll admit, Schecter can get pretty gaudy with the flashy colors (an example being the Hellraiser series and that quilted red finish many of them have, or the abalone inlays that are sometimes WAY too big, like those bats in the Damien Platinum guitars - which some people don't know that those bats are still in the correct position and can still be used as fretboard markers) but overall, I've found Schecter guitars to be pretty damn comfortable. (I also like their guitars that have thinner necks, like this one in this video)
Dont let the origin of manufacture deter you from considering its quality. South Korea makes outstanding guitars and pickups. Thats considered a high end guitar.
I'm not gonna say Schecter sucks, but since they're the icon of 7-8string players and Djent folks, it's not my thing. Different style of music for me entirely and I wouldn't have a reason to own or play one. Yes, I know, they make 6string obviously but I'm a Gibson guy, that's my thing. ( Yeah cue up the Gibson sucks/they're overrated people, like I haven't heard this before)
Dude...we are all amateurs...learning everyday. Sounds good. I'm looking into these guitars but I'm looking for an 80s screamer..to jam out my guilty hair band pleasure riffs.😁
Schecter’s guitars are really nice. Their tech support however , is total dogshit. I bought an E1-FRS with the Sustainiac in the neck and the apocalypse vi in the bridge. I wanted to convert it to a Jake Pitts model. Which is essentially the exact same guitar except it has an EMG in the bridge position. I ask the tech (Eric) if he had a schematic of the Jake Pitts E1 so that I could make the conversion. Or if he could just let me know what I needed to do. He said “the guy that has all the schematics quit and took them with him” . WTF?! Then he goes on stonewalling me for 3 more emails . Explaining that it’s a completely different guitar and he didn’t think it could be done easily. Its the exact same guitar. Just a different pickup in the bridge. They just didn’t care. No answers to any of my questions. I even asked if I could send it to their custom shop and pay out of pocket for postage and labor for the conversion (pickup swap) . He said, “oh, we don’t do that”. This guy was a real ray of sunshine. No help whatsoever. Didn’t care to try to answer any questions. His attitude was horrible. This guy is a tech and couldn’t answer a single question about a pickup swap? He wasn’t even familiar with Schecter’s product line. How in the world is this guy a tech? Anyways, horrible tech/customer service. Nice guitars for the money though.
Dang bro. That sounds like a circus for nothing. Always sucks when the companies don't seem to care once the product is sold. They are solid guitars for sure though. I think most tech support is just BS anyway. The conversion sounds cool though .I'm sure a local tech could wire it for ya?
A poor craftsman blames his tools. That model is unbelievably good for the price. Not sure if something weird happened to that one before you got it. Schecter makes some of the best guitars I have ever played. Kind of feels like a PRS that floated down the river Styx for a few eons. Should have gotten the Floyd Rose on it too.
I absolutely love this guitar. I have 2 guitars with floating bridges already and I wanted something for drop tunings which is why I went fixed bridge. I think the setup issue was from the previous owner just letting it sit. After I gave it a full setup it was perfect. For the price I would say it's almost unbeatable. I would recommend this guitar to anyone.
Anyone else getting anxiety from him grabbing the body like that? Theres nothing wrong with that, but from someone who hates finger prints on my guitars it just plays with my head 😂
I always give them a good wipe down after the videos so they ain't all printed up later. But yeah, I should probably hold it a little more lovingly haha
I've owned many schecters and even the low end guitars are made pretty good. But if your not used to shecter guitars it's about the same as playing ibanez guitars. You either like or hate them. 👍👍
Schecter offers the best value for the dollar. Their Solo II Custom is what a Gibson Les Paul should be, for half the price. Excellent craftsmanship. High quality, great attention to detail. Best locking tuners on the market.
Ya because every les Paul owner thinks one thing... Wish I had an entry level instrument this les Paul is not shitty enough I need something cheap and insufficient
Who makes better guitars than schecter around the 1k mark. Idk about their cheaper guitars, but the KM7 JL series etc are as well built as a korean guitar can be. Nvm the fact that they gave SS frets when NOBODY would give you SS frets.
I played this guitar today , nice but a bit over priced also schecter needs to do something about there headstock , 95% of the models have that exact headstock.
"every schecter sucks" they probably have the best craftmanship in the industry right now

Everything else i had felt like it was fighting against me. I have a warmoth s-style ⅞(slightly smaller strat with 24¾" scale and 24 frets) build that my luthier is nearly done building. i had him put tru-oil on the roasted maple neck and it takes while to cure. It was just under 4 months to get hear and my lutheirs had it for 2½ weeks so far...its felt a hell of a lot longer too.
i dont know what your buddy is talking about i love mine one of the best ive played
I love mine too. It needed a setup but I would do that to any guitar anyway. Solid guitar for sure.
Schecter makes some damn good guitars, especially for the money
Les Paul custom shop. Takes 5 times as long for an actual luthier to craft not the new kid from schecter putting in some hours to get a new tattoo.
Schecter sucks? Dumbest thing i heard. These are the best value for money guitars today.
I got the hellraiser hybrid c1 fr and c8
and a Banshee elite 7. All amazingly built, great sound and super comfortable. And all full of features no one provides today in the same price range. Ltd left behind
I agree for sure. That's what I told my buddy. Lots of high end specs at a mid range price point. Great value for money.
I have a lower mid range, its awesome !! My ibanez just sits in the corner
@oren om between the hellraiser hybrid and the banshee elite, which do you prefer and why?
@@striven82 hellraiser hybrid because i prefer mahagony body. It sounds fuller and more oldschool metal.and the emgs on it are insane. The banshee is a superb build and comfortable but sounds too thin for me, more for prog and djent and stuff i dont listen to or play. I put dimarzios on it so it sounds better but still im gonna sell it and get a different 7 string. Too bad most of the the new models are swamp ash. It doesnt fit death metal for me.
@@orenom6704 Awesome. Thanks for the reply. There aren't a lot of axe shops around here, and it's hard to judge tone by utube vids. Much appreciated.
I have 5 Japanese Ibanez Prestiges. Just got the Schecter C1 SLS Elite Evil Twin. I think I'm turnt. Thing is stunning and badass.
"Shecters suck man", *plays his agile*.... smhhhhhhh
Right? Haha
@@OutLoudStudios haha wtf right
@@HoldMyBeerFam agile is hit or miss. Ive seen some amazing agiles but also some horrible ones
Your buddy smokes pole. Schecter's are great guitars.
🤘
Gayyyyy
I have a C1 classic and a low end diamond c6? And both play excellent.
How do you run your sound through computer and make recordings? I grew up in the 80's with cassette tapes for recording.I am not up on the new tech.
I've done previous videos on that but I'll do a new one soon!
Funny thing is, his Agile was probably made in the same factory as your Schecter.
It definitely was lol. I own 2 Agiles and 7 Schecters. There is a reason why I own those numbers of each lol. Agile's are super sick for an under the radar brand, but Schecter is the best more "mainstream" company for the money with LTD being a very close second.
Thanks for the review. Would you buy one new at full price?
Me too 😀
Schecter has multiple factories , Schecter and ESP have the same ownership , the Korean models seem to be a step above the Indonesian models though, but I personally would probably prefer their Indonesian model over a Chinese model from some of the other "leaders" .
Love mine straight out of the box. Really well made
No big issues with mine either after I got it set up. Great guitar
I have the PT version of this, and it's the love of my life I've been missing since birth
tried the tempest version (which should be basically the same) and I was tempted to buy it even though I didn't look for a metal(ish) guitar. especially the connection between neck and body is ultra smooth. I bet there's no more comfortable guitar like that
What effects were you using? Or was in just the bridge with a lot of gain?
@Tactical Trex
I get where you’re coming from, but this isn’t just a thing with Schecter.
@@tacticaltrex6490
Thanks for clearing that up and being civil.
Here's a link: www.schecterguitars.com/custom/usa-production/configurator#
You can also find some used USA Schecters in good condition for decent prices if you search Reverb and eBay.
Yes sir. It is fantastic. It needed quite a bit of fine tuning on the set up but that's not Schecter's fault.
Should have bought the Evil Twin with the Fishman moderns. The guitar is amazing.
Perhaps to the elitists it sucks, but this is a really fine guitar that punchs well above it's price point, let alone what I paid for it.
what?!I have the hellraiser c1 in black and its the best sounding and comfortable guitar i ve ever played!!
(That 81-7 hits like a precision sledgehammer.)
I have had a number of Schecter 6-strings since then, at the various price levels, and the decision to buy those was made about as quickly as with the Demon-7.
Sounds fantastic.
probably ordering the 7 string version of this in the summer. my buddy has the tele shape 7 string version in the blue purplish color and it sounded and plays amazing
hey man i bought a damien 6 fr and it was poorly set up
i had to set up every thing the neck the action the floyd, i even had to shim up the nut omg...
I have a C-1 platinum I picked up new for 399 on sale. Definitely looking at this model to add to my collection.
If your friend thinks every schecter sucks then he mustve picked up a C-6SGR and not even tried the omen series. The two cheapest styles in their line up and its a HUGE quality jump. Even the SGR types are pretty great. Kinda like an epiphone les paul 100
Agreed. Every brand has a low end and then the good stuff. Not every Schecter is great, but very few are bad.
The c1 sls with fishman pickups is nasty
Want to play one eventually. Heard awesome things about them!
@@OutLoudStudios to be fair anything with fishman pickups sounds good to me. It was hard to pick between the schecter sls and the esp ec-1000 line
Schecter is the best guitar tone I've ever heard.
People hate Schecter because they can't fathom the fact that the build quality is almost as good as their Jackson and ESP Custom Shop for a dramatic fraction of the price
mine was great out of the box
Mine came set up impeccably
I love Schecters but I don’t have high expectations even for Gibson custom shop. If you keep your expectations up, there’s nowhere to go but down.
Schecter is my personal favorite tbh i mean they're fucking amazing
Schecters are Fantastic guitars!! build quality is great! Yours is a beauty my friend! sounds great
Schecters are one of the best brands I’ve played, if not THE best, and I was a straight up PRS guy lol
Some of them do have design/construction flaws which makes them impossible to set up properly. Ex: the fretboard is installed too tall, which doesn't allow you to get the bridge low enough to play well and sound good.
The PT version only has one volume and one tone. Give that beauty a shot.
Well, I'm sure Jeff Loomis would disagree with your buddy. After all, he had signature models with Schecter for a decade. Lol As for me, hoping to order my first Schecter this week. So I guess I'll see for myself what they're like.
I think you'll like it. Great guitars
@@OutLoudStudios thanks. I can only afford a cheap one, but have fallen in love with the Omen Extreme-7 (lefthanded).
Schecter makes great budget guitars. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
@@OutLoudStudios cool. Well, it's on order, so we shall see.
Would be a better review if the signal chain was drier, hard to tell what it sounds like
Ok I need to ask. Are you regular sized and bought a small guitar or is that a regular size guitar and you are just a giant? Your forearm is as long as the base!
I love this comment so much. Haha
It's definitely a regular sized guitar. I'm a pretty big dude.
Tim Mackey Music haha it’s all in good fun man! Thanks for the video, looking at getting one of these myself at some point so glad to see it in action
Still working on getting around to a demo with no effects. Sorry it wasn't more helpful.
Hey, are you like 7 feet tall? Your guitars look miniature in you hands.
I’m 6’3” 285 so I’m not ripping on you.
6'4 245 haha
Just got the c-1 FR s SLS Elite it’s incredible
Brand new will run ya about $948 and totally worth it. Schecter has some of the best guitars in their price range and even some higher too
Great job dude! I’m thinking about getting one but I need to know if I can get the same low action you can get on the other model with the Floyd rose?
Heck. Your buddy is on some "real good stuff". Schecter doesn't suck. I have a bass from them. I got it second hand, and even then, it was THE BEST bass I've played in a while. Better than any of my Ibanez basses.
I still love this guitar and his opinion (in my opinion) is still wrong. Schecter is great!
If you really want a treat just try literally anything from Schecter Japan. They pound-for-pound can go against any of my Ibanez Prestige guitars.
Best bang for your buck by far. You’re buddy is a tool hung up on overpriced brands.
The guy who says "schecter sucks" just doesn't want you to have better guitar than he owns, it's that simple
What's the scale length?
Schecter definitely doesn't suck !
Dont let the origin of manufacture deter you from considering its quality. South Korea makes outstanding guitars and pickups. Thats considered a high end guitar.
schecter really is pretty good. for the money they're some of the best
( Yeah cue up the Gibson sucks/they're overrated people, like I haven't heard this before)
Yeah, you should lay the "smack-down" on your buddy...haha
Does it play good music too?
With a good guitarist, probably. Not an amateur like me.
🥰😘
@@OutLoudStudios just joking.
I have the same one for sale if you want to shoot me some offers.
I'm loyal to Schecter, and you could probably say I'm a fanboy.
I have a c7 SLS it’s a great instrument.
5:40 :)
Their guitar bones are amazing. Their pickups are terrible.
Change for seymour duncan?
Schecter are amazing I own 2 of them
I've owned many schecters and even the low end guitars are made pretty good. But if your not used to shecter guitars it's about the same as playing ibanez guitars. You either like or hate them. 👍👍
REVV G3 distortion pedal makes Schecters sound MEAN!
Every time ive been handed a schecter i was disappointed. Yes the answer is yes
What was that horse shit u started playing? Was it metal?
Uh oh, someone on the internet was mean. My feelers are hurt...
😘
I'm always impressed by schecter.
Korea guitars are freakin awesome especially Schecters.
Haters gonna hate
if a schecter sucks you’re playing it wrong
My schecter arrive perfect, probably the place you bought it send it in bad conditions
Yep. Once I set it up it was awesome!
This is a bunch of people that bought a schecter and are trying to convince themselves its good😂
I played this guitar today , nice but a bit over priced also schecter needs to do something about there headstock , 95% of the models have that exact headstock.
Should've gone to sweetwater. Straight outta box
