      This is so encouraging, thanks for sharing. I've somehow got it in my mind I'm too sick and too big to be able to lose weight, again. I'm practically bedridden from multiple serious autoimmune diseases. Yet, I weight a little bit less than you weigh now. However, I'm almost bedridden with severe muscle weakness. So, I feel like I would have to consume almost no calories to lose weight. I cannot walk around enough to do my most basic ADLs if I don't eat something FAST, and bland, when I wake up in the morning. It's like being in a loop. I cannot figure this out. I also have an electrolyte wasting problem with chronic hypokalemia, hypomagnesemia, and I have to take rx potassium, along with otc potassium chloride and lots of magnesium. It's all so overwhelming and there are no medical doctors that will help. They suggested palliative care which means hospice in my state. I refused it. I truly believe if I could somehow handle being weak and sick the first few weeks somehow, I would eventually improve on a ketogenic diet. I can make it around my little apartment using my rollater. It's very difficult though. My muscles are basically destroyed from multiple diseases.

      I often fast with fat/broth. Just having that 'escape' hatch, I can fast without pressure. Knowing if I need to, I can have a fatty coffee, a knob of butter or a broth. The latter can trigger hunger, though, so I rarely do that unless it's just before I go to sleep

After keto eating for months it was 125 in the mornings on empty stomach! Fasting and Omad dis not help at all. I will now do exactly as you suggest in this video for 2 months! I'm so glad I watched this. Like so many people do with the new year, I was going to restart my plan to loose weight & I have been trying to keep within a small window of time, or fasting when really, I should should be working on the sort of food I should eat. Less carbs, more protien, and more fat.. Time to begin adapting first. Thankyou Dr Boz. Off for 8-12 weeks of adapting.. I say up to 12 since I'm over 60, I suspect it may take me a little longer to get there.

      try a "fat fast" first. Look up "Atkins fat fast" article they spell it all out. It's much easier then jumping into a water fast. Fat fast does not stress your body.
      this is 1000 calaries...Akins suggest 4-5 meals but, I just do 2 meals with maybe a snack. You do a fat fast for only 2-5 days. It works to get you into high ketosis and lose weight. You will lose some fat and some water weight. The article says you will gain 1/2 back which seems to be the case. When do you use a fat fast? when you hit a weight stall or want to get into ketosis quickly.

    • @jansmith3158
      @jansmith3158 Рік тому +1

      ps the most important thing is 80% of your caleries (1000) is from healthy fats.

    Over the past 2 years I’ve done 5-7 day water fasts and this time I wanted to extend it to 10 days. I have no problem getting into ketosis. After 2-3 days glucose range’s between 70-80 and ketones around 3. However this time glucose come down to the same range but my ketones steadily rose to the point that after 6 days they reached 6,5. Because this is getting in the danger zone, I decided to stop the fast. I had a light soup and the ketones fell back to 3. Do you have an explanation for this continuous increase in ketones. I really like your videos - they are very informative.
