It was funny to me when sound of silence came out and everyone was just blown away saying "holy shit this is disturbed?" Like yeah man obviously you never listened to darkness. This is my heart's favorite song. It helped me in so many ways. I really do owe you guys so much.
Facts
100% agree. I mentioned this song in a reaction video today and someone said that I meant the Sound of Silence.... no. Before that, there was this and it was magically beautiful. :D
@@BetterEveryDayUA-cam absolutely. And it's so underrated and almost unknown outside of the true fan circles. That's hilarious that someone tried to correct you.
These people are casuals. They'll never understand the sheer beauty of this song. So beautiful I like to look outside of my window at night time with cold winter winds blowing through my skin. This song & the album itself has a special place in my heart.
i don t think anyone dares disturb those 69 likes
This song was the song played when my father was buried when i was a kid ill never forget it
[LYRICS]
Don't turn away
I pray you've heard
The words I've spoken
Dare to believe
Oh, for one last time
Then I'll let the
Darkness cover me
Deny everything
Slowly walk away
To breathe again
On my own
Carry me away
I need your strength
To get me through this
Dare to believe
Oh, for one last time
Then I'll let the
Darkness cover me
Deny everything
Slowly walk away
To breathe again
On my own
On my own
On my own
On my own
On my own
Dare to believe
Oh, for one last time
Then I'll let the
Darkness cover me
Deny everything
Slowly walk away
To breathe again
On my own
On my own
It's "Oh for one last time". Not "over one last time" .
@@krodianax772 Thanks for info fixed :)
One of the best songs ever made by Disturbed and personally my favorite
same
Super underrated. David's voice is so beautiful here.
Word
Absolutely 100% without a shadow of doubt 🤙
The light is best
So nostalgic. I used to set this to repeat when having trouble sleeping back in my teens. Definitely one of my favorite songs of all time.
Yep, can relate to that
Wish I would have found this sooner. I typically can’t hardly fall asleep and this is working getting me to relax so I can sleep.
Why did you have problems with sleep?
I did the same thing man. I come from a troubled childhood, and have been a massive Disturbed fan since my early teens. I started listening to them when things took a turn for the worse, and I think that their heavier songs helped me develop my grit. This song, and Overburdened, still help me to understand my place in the world.
I still remember sitting on a bench near the waterfront at 10:00 at night in February when it was 30 degrees when I was 17 listening to this song. Full of heated anger, frustration and depression feeling so done with life and not having any friends, direction in life, family struggles. I can't undo that memory listening to this song no matter how hard I try.
This song should be so much more popular, it’s so somber and very relatable
Yes this song should you send it to all your friends and I'll do the same lol
I kinda like that it's not, because then it would get overplayed and lose its magic.
The only Disturbed ballad that's worth listening because of how beautiful it is. I cannot "Believe" this song doesn't nearly get enough recognition because people are WAY too focused on that Sound of Silence cover.
@Hylian Wolf Totally agree.
You cannot "belive?lol saw what you did there
@@killerbean5343 It ain't Disturbed "Enough" to not insert those puns basically.
To be fair, that was a freaking amazing Sound of Silence cover. Darkness needs more love though.
Heard it live 4 years ago in the show in Moscow and didn't even know that this song existed.
Makes me cry from time to time when I listen deeply to the words and melody and think about my past grandma whose gone a couple of years ago.
WE ALL ARE DISTURBED!
I just had a flashback to 15 years ago when this song was my anthem for a breakup. So many tears. One of my favorites from Disturbed. 🖤🖤🖤
I don't how but everytime I hear this, it hits me hard and completely breaks me down yet pushes me stronger. It's a message to fight back the troubles in my life. One of the most underrated yet best disturbed songs!!
Yes. Mam
This song breaks me down, and Reason To Fight pushes Mr stronger.
Beautiful song. Always loved it since I got the cd back in 2005. Always felt this song would’ve been perfect for Silent Hill.
For some reason the darkness and sad melody of this song seems to just hit home melodicaly.
One of the greatest songs ever written.... the heart and passion behind the guitar and vocals is so beautiful man 2002 was such a simpler time wish I can go back lol
I agree, the late 90s early 00s were the best! Used to play PS2 and listen to this album front to back. Definitely their most emotional song.
Believe and fists are still their best albums imo so glad they’re going back to that sound for divisive
my brother and i had this album playing in the background the entire time playing Chrono Cross back in the day. now any song from believe brings me back big time
How this isn't the most fawned over Disturbed song is beyond me
Still my favourite Disturbed song. The entire Believe album holds a special place with me. \m/
🖤🥀
Underrated but one of my absolute favourites.
This is a better ballad than The Sound Of Silence, There I said it.
The sound of silence is a cover of Simon and Garfunkel. There you go
@@jacobthomas4362 Yeah I know that.
This was the song I was listening to on the way to my dad's funeral when I was 17.
This just unlocked a memory. I had this on a mini speaker in my room back at my old house. I think I was having a nightmare, but this song somehow got into the dream. I think I woke up crying, but it was... Peaceful.
I cry everytime I hear this song. It is so beautiful, yet it breaks my soul. I used to dissappear into this song back in my teens
Disturb will always be one my favorite rock bands.
You're 14 you saved this on your original Xbox you're listening to it alone in your room, watching a visualizer...life is so different now but this still feels the same.
Best song of the album along with Prayer.
it was never a shift in character to be more soft and emotional and antidepressant.. it was always there.
to be honest, when I hear this song, it brings out a "Darkest hour in a series" sorta feel, The main protagonist is left to die and their friends save them, either the city, the love interest, or both end up being taken by the big bad. and the friends have to flee alongside the badly injured (maybe unconscious) protagonist, to a different area to lay low until' the protagonist is healed enough to gain enough strength to fight again
I wish this song had a music video.
And suddenly I'm into a Disturbed kick for another few days.
underrated song by them
defiently one of the most underrated songs ever made
Having heard David’s cover of The Sound of Silence, I would love to hear him sing this song in the same style, much lower. Still one of my hidden favorites
Wouldn't have that cry of anguish to it if he did.
Melody sounds like soundtrack to Dark Souls
Considering this was Disturbed’s first ballad track, I can imagine fans listening to this and say “Wait this is the same mf that sung the breakdown of DWTS?”
I be putting this onna repeat Happy new year 2020-21 ,,,Dec . 31 2020.
I'm on my own.
Can't believe this song doesn't have like 500M views by now.
This one hits all the way to the bone

At the beginning, and in a few other spots, you can hear the rhythm guitar part from Metallica's Fade to Black intro fit right in.
Yes it does sound pretty similar
Heard this when I was 8, had no idea who the artist was, I am So fucking grateful that this song exist.
The amount of times I listen to this song is incredible
I set this on repeat when Kratos smites down every demonic being.
this is a "stimulent" song to me for sparring, listening to it by itself without sparring, makese me reflect on myself.
This song makes me cry every time I hear it cause it’s beautiful and makes me remember the old times it has helped me in many ways I love listening to it this whole album is therapy one of the best
Hauntingly beautiful...
I love the haunting feel of this song.
This is one songs I listened to when my dog died yesterday 😢
This was among my first CD's ever and will remain a timeless track
This song helped me through 15 months in Iraq! I had the whole album on my iPod and listened to it over and over!
I wish this song got more loved
Anyone still listen to this song just to get through the day? This song alone is why i love these guys and why i have two disturbed tats 😅
For anyone in the future that may ask (not sure I'll get notifications) but the album cover for believe and "the guy" are the tattoos 👌
Ppl say Evolution is soft but they forget about this song.
i haven't listened to this for 10 years
I thought id heard ever disturbed song there was. Where has this gem been hiding?
Beautiful song!
They should make a music video for this song.
This is one of my favorites disturbed song
It's better than all these ballads from Evolution.
I've never related to a song more life is a rough roller coaster lights out volume up headphones in and watch all of the depression fade from my head enough I can move on with my day or actually sleep

Voice of an angel.
Still one of my favorite disturbed songs

This song is my favorite
2nd Middle School in 2002
When I'm 14yo learn to play guitar
Because this is the only Disturbed Slow Sad Song at that moment
☕🙄🚬
Disturbed: "You make some lighter songs and they say they are not Disturbed".
Slipknot: "You create "Snuff" and they say "It's not a Slipknot's song, it's a Stone Sour's song": listen to "Vermilion Pt.2", to "Dead Memories", to "XIX", to "The Circle", to "Goodbye" and then shut up! Fuck you all and don't you ever judge me!"
Metallica: "Since the Black Album was released, they say we are not longer metal, but pop, but you don't understand that just the soon as I belong, then It's time, I disappear".
Linkin Park: "Boys, please, we made two fantastic metal albums, after them, we started making some musical experiments, we ended with "One More Light" and they completely forgot we are also a metal band. Respect that we make the music we like and the music we need, and if you don't like our latest album, you have the old albums you like yet: no one is stealing you the songs you like; we are not forced to make only one style of songs forever and ever".
Nirvana: "Ehem, we are remembered because of "Smells Like Teen Spirit", but not because of "Tourette's", "Blew", "School", "Radio Friendly Unit Shifter", "Aneurysm", etc. Then, you hear some of this songs and you realise you didn't know what Nirvana really was".
When did Linkin Park ever make a metal album? They were always nu metal/rap-rock with some clean boy band style vocals and pop leanings thrown in.
@@jacobthomas9365 "Nu metal" is a metal genre, and I was talking about Meteora and Hybrid Theory.
Yeah, I think Chester didn't want people to sort them out on a music style, and it's true they mix styles and different music tastes, but they're also metal: not only metal, but metal in fact.
@@joancastillo828
It's not true metal, and Linkin Park were nu metal lite. Anyone who thinks they're metal doesn't know what metal sounds like. They're like a boy band with semi-heavy guitars.
I don't much care for the No True Scotsman fallacies, but I gotta say Jacob is right here. You can't just mix together something that is mostly rap and emo shit and then call it any sort of metal just because it barely makes a token effort at guitar distortion. It is like calling something a dessert because you put a single grain of sugar in it. The only "nu metal" that is less metal than Linkin Park is Limp Bizkit.
Anyhow, that is just as far as the labelling stuff goes. I ain't ever going to start acting like a band HAS to play a particular way, or that they're not allowed to change their sound. That is just dumb. Of course they are. But if I don't like what they've changed to, I won't listen to it. Simple as that. Metal bands want to play soft songs? Fine. I just delete those songs from my playlists. Problem solved. Same if they go too far off the rap end of things like Linkin Park did. Into the garbage bin it goes.
@@SotiCoto Okay, but I usually think on the chords and the drums. They are not Thrash Metal, but what Linkin Park plays on guitar, even if it's liter, it's like Slipknot playing (for example, the Power-chords on a dropped tuning and the octave chords are a great part of the nu metal essence). System Of a Down brokes some metal patterns but I consider them metal anyway, but Linkin Park, SOAD, Slipknot... They have a great amount of similarities if you look the instrumental and harmonic part. I also consider metal the Linkin Park drums and the screams, but, in the end, I guess we can simply not agree and nothing bad happens. Yeah, they make the music they like, they are allowed to do it and if we don't like it, we don't listen to it. I consider Hybrid Theory and Meteora metal albums and other people doesn't, okay.
Since 2009, I've been listening to this song.
For me music is about emotion.
I think nowadays music lost its soul and is just emotionless.
Even in metal/rock many bands went pop or jumping on the djent train.
My personal favorite album. My personal favorite song, tho, is probably Remember
One of the Greatest heartfelt songs ever ... From one of the Best ever ... Tugs at the heartstrings ❤️.
This song.... just wow. Bought the album the day it came out YEARS ago. So haunting... this one and overburdened really hit me with the feels.
I agree with David, the hell was he on when he Said that statement? It IS a ballad
the SONG i want to play in my FuneraL...❤❤❤
This song makes me cry every time!
Such a great song that many will once again relate too which will make it such a powerful tune
One of my favourite Disturbed songs, it's a crime this gets less attention 😕
When i heard the beginning i thought it was an evanescence song
Love disturbed for life!

LOVE DISTURBED!!!!!!
Mt linda essa musica 😌
nd at the same time made me love metal music forever
💜💜💜
This song has took a part of my heart the first time I heard it.
This was the song that ironically made me not like Disturbed.. Not because this song was terrible, in fact it's the complete opposite and I realized everything else on the record was just not worth listening to anymore.
@user-zs8ez8jy8q Because I don't like them?
Great voice
Che ricordi 😢
Essa música é linda
When I used to be a teenager. I hated this song very much, but not it's the exact opposite 😕
