I have returned to this song after what happened on May 24, 2022. It's horrifying... Before I simply liked the song. Now... I feel it's meaning on an emotional level.
Ya, returned myself to it again (it's on my normal playlist but in spot 424 so only hear it once every month maybe normally). Always though of this one as being pretty serious given the nature of the song, and the reality that has been the US for at least the past two decades. Mass shootings are frankly fairly common, one just the next town over a couple years ago, a smaller scale one a ways before that also nearby. And in the country... it's basically a weekly if not daily occurance, you just only see the bigger ones on the news outside of local news. So if someone does something and wants to get a message out... sadly it tells them the only way to do that is make sure a larger number of people die, possibly more than they even had extreme personal hatred or issues with.

The people who are the least responsible would be the ones who have the means to get protection and yet choose not to just for a better time... (There's also times where one side tricks the other into thinking they have taken precautions when they haven't... Those people are horrible human beings who are only slightly better than rapists... Again, those who were tricked I don't think deserve to be punished with a child they don't want who might grow up in poverty and so forth...) Anyway, that's my thoughts on that... I agree with some of the other stuff you said though like the problems with the school shootings seem to be just poor parenting, mental illness and often too easily access to guns (though often that is due to the parents being bad (although, they could probably be required to take lessons on keeping their guns locked up and not lying around loaded and from what I've heard it doesn't seem like when you buy a gun from some guy that you are required to have a license showing that you have had training and know what you are doing for the exchange to be legal... The people who are the least responsible would be the ones who have the means to get protection and yet choose not to just for a better time... (There's also times where one side tricks the other into thinking they have taken precautions when they haven't... Those people are horrible human beings who are only slightly better than rapists... Again, those who were tricked I don't think deserve to be punished with a child they don't want who might grow up in poverty and so forth...)
Anyway, that's my thoughts on that... I agree with some of the other stuff you said though like the problems with the school shootings seem to be just poor parenting, mental illness and often too easily access to guns (though often that is due to the parents being bad (although, they could probably be required to take lessons on keeping their guns locked up and not lying around loaded and from what I've heard it doesn't seem like when you buy a gun from some guy that you are required to have a license showing that you have had training and know what you are doing for the exchange to be legal... Instead you just seem to need the money to buy it which leads to people leaving guns and ammo accessible... No need to ban guns (that'd be absurd), but I think you Americans could use some knowledge on gun safety for those idiots who ruin things for everyone else...)
Another thing is politicians often just blame video games (or hilariously porn with that last school shooting... (which apparently comes from a store and not the Internet these days... Shows how out of touch that woman is...) Because apparently their logic is that somehow looking at nudity makes children decide to steal a gun and shoot up their school... Not exactly sure how that works, but that's what that politician said happens when kids look at porn from magazines as they do in the 21st century... lol xD
