What should I use to make this color, which products should I buy, and what is the instruction for use? My hair is short as in the photo, I would be very happy if you answer.
yuliya atan hey! If you use it will have a slight silver tone. If you like more pearly white I would use 9P instead. Mix 1 ounce 9P + 1 ounce processing solution and put it all over for 10 minutes.

Hello! If not using color, only for a clear gloss: What is the difference between using the gloss alone or using it paired with the processing solution?
No, don't wet your hair first. Use this exactly like you would regular hair color. Not sure about the scalp. My stylist doesn't massage it into my scalp or anything, but she also doesn't try to protect my scalp from the product. Is your scalp super-sensitive? Maybe do a patch test first. Also, since the product is meant to close the cuticle & make hair shinier, you could probably leave the first inch of the hair shaft or so as a buffer between your scalp & the product. Unless you just bleached your hair, the roots aren't dull and dry anyway. It's the longer, older, more processed parts of our hair that need the help. 🙂
I have a question, I want to use Shades EQ but my hair is very dry. So I want to use no pro oxyde only de bottle Shades EQ? is it possible or what do I have to add with for example he color granite 06na or 04na storm cloud? does this product without pro oxyde cover white hair ? and even more can I use only on my white hair the shades eq 06na for example ? or do I use a mixed ? thanks Daniella
Why mix the processing developer if the gloss is clear? I’m being told I can use this alone as it’s clear and others are telling me I have to use it with the processor I’m very confused and don’t want my hair ruined.
Hi Daniella I am trying to rid my hair of color but want the wonderful shine and bounce I get from it ... I like this method you are doing. Can you answer me a question, what does Redken shades EQ Demi perm CLEAR hair cream do?
Hi so my instructor (cosmo school) said we can use this on top of any color including semi vivids and I just did that today after doing my roots, and it took all of my color out so I had to reapply the purple back into my hair, is it supposed to do that or was I misinformed or lacking some knowledge, I would liek understand the process for further understanding and to prevent anything like this happening, thank you so much
Q: should we apply to clean or dirty hair? A: Clean. I have used the Redken shades EQ + Redken shades EQ developer for at least 10 years. The Redken Shades EQ Crystal clear gloss coat is used the same as the Redken Shades Eq Colors, that is - 50 / 50 with the Redken EQ Shades Developer. DIRECTIONS: Hair and scalp should be shampooed thoroughly and rinsed out. DO NOT APPLY CONDITIONER. Blow dry or air dry hair straight and allow to rest and cool down. Then, mix Redken color or clear coat + Redken Shades Developer in equal parts. I mix up small batches as I go, so that none sits too long. I part and clip the hair and use a soft, wide application brush to apply from roots to the end, section by section to make sure each strand receives full and equal coverage. When the entire head of hair is done, I twist up the hair into a bun (if long) and then wrap the head in Saran wrap. Then you will sit under a bonnet hair dryer on THE LOWEST HEAT for 30 minutes. Remove Saran wrap and allow to cool. (The dryer heat sets the product, making it last way longer - many months). Then shampoo, condition and style as usual. Next time, you will do the same - but only to the regrowth as the rest will still look good!
Thank you for the detailed directions. One question though: I will be shampooing twice that day: both before and after the Shades EQ Clear gloss treatment? My hair dresser just did a clear Shades eq gloss treatment on my hair, but did it on my dirty hair with lots of product in it, (I have very long frizzy curly dry hair so I use oils, leave in conditioner and/or curl creams.) I loved how it turned out, but I don't live near her so I only see her twice a year and want to try doing a gloss treatment at home. Thank you!!
After I toner a clients hair with the shades EQ gloss, wait the 20 mins and rinse, is it necessary to add the crystal clear all over for extra shine? I don’t want to add the clear into my toner formula bc I don’t want to dilute the colors I mixed. I just want maximum shine.
I think it depends on the shade. Clear is great to use with ash or grey shades that don't reflect light well. Most of the shades EQ formulas add shine automatically though. The golds are especially shiny.
I bought the bottle with the pink label that says gloss crystal clear 000. do I use that alone w/ my 09n shades eq toner, or do I need that other bottle that has the grey label? I really can't understand what the difference is between them. are they both processing solutions?

My stylist uses this on my hair. She does not wash & condition until after the gloss is ready to come out. Just brush your hair out beforehand like you would with a regular hair color. Apply this mix. Wait 20 mins. Then wash & condition.
So did you wash and dry before? I am guessing you didn’t because you said you washed your hair after rinsing out the product but could you please clarify? Also did you put the product on dry or wet hair?

I check bottles even shampoo & Conditioners before I buy from a salon. I purchased a large container of a high end treatment from a very well know popular salon in my city and when I opened it, no seal at all and it was a grey colored stinky watery liquid that poured out. I took it back and the girl that sold it to me denied my return or exchange and said how did she know I didn't do it! I said "do what?" She got very upset. I contacted the sales rep for the product line and long story short after a few months they found out the same girl was siphoning off portions of the products and topping them off with some liquids. They caught her red handed on security cameras they had installed that she was not aware of. I ended up getting 5 free hair appointments with the owner and the sales rep gave me 2 or 3 kits of the same product with the shampoo in the kits. The girl was charged by the police as well as obviously being fired. She had worked there for over 10 years. What would be the best shades eq combo to get rid of my gold roots? I have platinum blonde hair but when my roots come in they're super gold and I can't seem to get rid of them for more than a week... Thank you so much, you're adorable and I'm so grateful for your sweetness😁😁
You have a couple of options, 1) get a shadow root done when you get your hair lightened so it doesn’t look so dramatically dark a week after you lightened your hair. 2) if it’s ur roots they need to be lifted with bleach then you can mix root color with the shades eq toners and that’s the option 1 I was talking about. But to keep your brassy down just make sure ur using the correct the purple shampoo as directed to keep brass away.
Not enough information. Do I apply to dry hair, dirty hair, shampoo first, ? How long does is last on average? Will it damage hair if used too often? How often? Is it used before or after other treatments like color, sealants, conditioning.
Daniella, thank you so much for all of your info! I have graduated to a point of needing almost full grey coverage and I’ve been using Redken Beyond Cover Chromatics. I use the 9 w and it covers the grey but I feel like my hair is getting really dry from the product even though they advertise it to not do that. Anyway, if I go to a deeper color to provide more coverage, i have a very visible root line in a matter of a week or so. I am just perplexed, I don’t want to have to do highlights every three weeks but if I go to a lighter base color it doesn’t want to cover grey, I don’t want ash!!! Any suggestions? Do you like chromatics and how would you suggest handling this?
I have the same issue and after watching dozens of UA-cam videos I've found solutions to this problem. The first is getting ultra-fine babylights in a silver or grey shade done on the top 3/4 of the head. It blends all the colors beautifully and grows out seamlessly. You can go up to 20 weeks between sessions with this one. Unfortunately, it's very difficult to do at home so it can cost quite a bit of money. The second is what they call a color strip. This is when you only color the top layer of hair to cover the grey regrowth and it effectively covers the rest of the growout so that it can't be seen. This one is easier to do at home and you can always do the bottom of your hair too if you wear your hair up a lot. I hope this helps a little. Best wishes on your hair journey.
The processing solution opens the cuticle just enough for the clear to penetrate just a little, or it helps it adhere to the surface of the hair. If you just use the clear alone it will wash out as soon as you shampoo your hair.
@@JaneSmith0709 but what if you have already a level 9 or 10 bleached blonde why do I still need to put more volume on it by using the processing solution and not only the shade ? I just want to color correct my yellows

Can’t wait to do this on my wig I just colored !
Love it! It's going to be so shiny! Use davines shimmer mist with it! It will be amazing!

Thank you! Glad you like it! ❤️
When using color do you mix clear with it or wait and apply separately?
Does this help to strengthen hair at all? Or is it just superficial,
Hi Daniella! Your hair is very similar to mine. What shampoo and conditioner do you recommend? I currently am using Joico Kpak

Hi Dani... Would this change the color of my bleach hair?
No not at all! Think of it like a clear nail polish coat on the hair
Where can I get the clear? I can’t find it on Amazon. I don’t have a license
hey girl are these at Sally's? and how much so i know when i go thanks(:
gabby shores order from Sleekhair.com, Walmart or Amazon. Sleek hair is my first choice because you know you won’t get fake product.
From where I can get this product in Canada?
Can I do this straight after colouring my hair?
Is there an explanation date on Shades?
Do you do this to people in your salon ?
Yes it do! I usually do it as an add on service to help add a second layer or protection over the toner.
Hi do you condition after shampoo?
I have lavender hair, will it make my color fade?
What volume on the processing solution
asking again, do you have to use the clear gloss with the processing solution or can you just use the crystal clear since it's already clear?
You still need the processing solution
The processing solution opens the cuticle just enough for the clear to penetrate just a little, or it helps it adhere to the surface of the hair. If you just use the clear alone it will wash out as soon as you shampoo your hair.
@@JaneSmith0709 but what if you have already a level 9 or 10 bleached blonde why do I still need to put more volume on it by using the processing solution and not only the shade ? I just want to color correct my yellows
@@N0N4M30 It won't work without the processing solution, even on level 9 or 10 hair.
@@N0N4M30 purple shampoo
Doesn’t the processing solution still have 7volume or 1.9% peroxide in it so wouldn’t this over time cause just a slight bit of damage?
I’ve been using it for years and years and have never seen it cause damage. It actually seems to heal more than anything!
@@DaniellaBenita but what I don’t understand is why do I need to use 7volume on a hair type 9 bleached ? It’s already light enough I just want to get a different tone correcting the yellow I don’t want any damage more than bleach already does
@@N0N4M30 isnt that when the purple shampoo comes in? for what I understand the purple shampoo is what cancels out the yellow and her tutorial is to bring back some of the shine.
I really enjoy your videos ,thank u
