    Blonding and toning is intense. 9P, 9V, 9T, 9N, 9G, 9AA, 9NA, 9GN, 9B, needs a swatch on it's own to see the difference within the blonde tones.

    I love that quote! I’ve struggled with balancing money with gratification through making people feel good. And I came to the same conclusion as well that as long as I’m making people happy and making them feel better and making their life better through my work then the money will come because they will continue to come back. This allowed me to focus on my clients and not my dollar. It is absolutely paid off.

    Hi girls, I’ve essentially grown up in my mom’s hair salon and although I’ve observed her cutting, coloring, and styling hair all my life, there are just too many critical lessons and processes that must be taught and understood when applying any of those skills. And because it always looked so effortless to watch, and I thought I could do anything I put my mind too, (lol) I convinced myself that I wanted to do my own from now on...lol. That was 15 years ago and I’m still making huge mistakes, and most are related to color! Most of my knowledge pertaining hair have come from “how-to” tutorials and through trial and error. There are amazing videos that provide clear step by step demonstrations, the products used, and tips along the way. What’s hardly ever mentioned in any of the hair coloring tutorials is color theory, and what you must know personally about your own hair first. You guys explore this topic beautifully and in depth.. The info and content in this video is absolutely priceless and I wanted to thank you so much! I love your videos, Danielle Benita!!! I’ve watched and learned from you for a long time! You have by far the most knowledgeable, down to earth, quality color-based information, out there!

I always seem to pull orange and copper and my hair lightens really well but anytime somebody slaps a toner on my hair or any permanent color near my roots that isn't lightener it always pulls orangey red so thank you. You have no idea how hard it's been to find products to get somebody to get me that lived in ombre beachy blonde look with a deep root... So far two stylists can't achieve it and I keep pulling orangey red.. wish you guys lived in Canada because my God

    Thanks for the very informative video! Unfortunately, due to an intense tint, I have a bad red stab in my hair, which can be clearly seen especially in sunlight... Is it possible to neutralize a red tinge only with the EQ shades, without blonde strands in advance, to get a ashesy brown tone again? If so, which EQ Shades are suitable for this?

      Lola Siebert hello! So I would only use it if you’re trying to dilute the color you want to use. For example: if I’m a 9 level blonde but want to keep the blonde as bright as possible while toning I would clear it out to make sure the color doesn’t deposit fully to the 9 level. So I would add 1 ounce clear 1 ounce 9T + 2 ounces of processing solution. That way the color is less strong and won’t deposit fully. Does that make sense? I’m making a video all about clear soon!

They want to enhance what they've got going on with their grey grow out....10 or 9t on the top, and 7 or 8 t for the bottom half? Or mix the two and apply throughout?

    1. I was going to use 5n and 5na because of what you said about the 6n & 6na but I believe I am a level 5 right now. So I’m thinking the 6 would be too light correct?
    2. For my highlights can I use the shades eq processing solution for the mix, instead of getting a 10 or 20 vol solution? Thank you! Love your videos. ❤️

    Hi hope you well! I was wondering if you could help please.
    I had my hair done yesterday however I don’t care for my root smudge which is super dark. She did use Redken Shades EQ I immediately washed my hair however it has a reddish dark brown tone now and the rest of my hair is buttery blond. What can I do to make the root color fade fast? I absolutely hate the reddish brown tone! Thanks

  • @louannhop100
    @louannhop100 4 роки тому +2

    Please explain when your talking about these toners you are saying to put all over the hair! I’m new to this and have had a client exactly I like you explained she has highlights and lowlights and she wanted me to just put a few more highlights in. So I weave out some of the brown with the blonde but the brown didn’t lift as much as the blonde leaving them orange only around in some areas. Would i put the formula that you said can’t remember what it was all over the hair or just find the orange highlights and neutralise them! I gave her matrix brass off blue shampoo and conditioner to wash her hair in the next couple of days. So that will hopefully do it but I was t sure on the toner to use! I really hope you are able to reply to this could really go with the help! Thank you Louise xx

    • @DaniellaBenita
      @DaniellaBenita  4 роки тому +3

      Hey louise! What I like to do is cover them completely with shades eq that matches their root color and then re highlight them and make sure each highlight is perfectly blonde. That way you aren't re lifting any of the brown and leaving their hair brassy. You might need to fill them first so the blonde doesn't look green and then go over it one more time with a 6N or a 5N depending on their root color. I also like to fill my clients with gold to help keep their base from looking red!

    • @louannhop100
      @louannhop100 4 роки тому +1

      Daniella Benita thank you so much for the reply, I really appreciate it!
      In college my tutor would really go on about how bad bleach is for the hair - which I get - and but she kind of scared me with leaving it on for too long! I know exactly what I did wrong and that is I didn’t leave the bleach on long enough so the brown pieces didn’t lift enough. If I’d left it another five or ten minutes they would have been a nice pale blonde! I guess it’s a learning curve so early on in doing this but your videos are Godsend. I just can’t wait to be as confident as you are and know my colours better! Really love your videos they are so informative and really help me loads thank you for sharing! Do you have a favourite formula of the shades eq for a root smudge? Xx

    Just found this valuable video, thanks! Not sure if you are still responding but I am curious if you are applying to dry hair for 20 minutes? I plan to try the 6GN for my brassy level 6/7 color. I’d rather be a little darker than have too much warmth.

    • @DaniellaBenita
      @DaniellaBenita  6 місяців тому +1

      Hi! Yep I apply onto dry hair if I want it to be more impactful. Be careful though because it can get spotty so make sure you have plenty of color to completely saturate your hair. Toning on your level is the best way to get rid of brass and what’s great about shades eq is it looks intense for 2-3 washes but then the color softens. So don’t panic when you shampoo the first time! It will gently release the color and look super natural by wash 3!

    I have copper/red hair that is a level 7-8, can I use these redone toners to neutralize my hair to go back closer to my natural? Daniella Benita

    Just saw this video. I am brunette with quite a bit of gray. I had my hair highlighted a few years ago and loved it. Lots of depth. Unfortunately since then I've been over highlighted or when I try to start over I've been getting hot roots. These are all attempts at a salon. I always ask for ash dark blonde highlights, but I'm now sorta an odd shade of blonde/orange with not much depth. I'm going to see a stylist soon to get it glossed and go back towards brown. I'm thinking 6na redkin eq but after your video I should mention adding 6n. I'm a bit worried since I pull red so much. Once my gray starts to come in, what would your suggestion be for the root tap? Any advice would be great. I just want to know what I should be asking for so I don't end up with hot roots again. Eventually I'd like to get back to a natural medium brown. Thanks so much!!! ❤

    What do you think about a 9na + 9gb on level 9 hair with a little bit of brassy bits? Thank you for your video.

    Wow!!! I've never seen a video explaining the eq shades. I'm so happy I found you.
    Question: my natural hair is brunnette but I have been dying it with 6Bv (brunnette violet and 4RV (dark brown red violet). I removed the color and my hair is now light red and gold.
    I would like to go silver with dark undertones. Any advise please. Thank you so much.

    Hello quick question please when using crystal clear to your Redken shades do you have to use it with processing solution or you can use it by its self with out the processing solution thank you

      Yep you have to use it with processing solution. I have a full tutorial using it but think of it as a color!

    hey daniella - love your tutorials. need your advice. I'm a 5 brunette with 20% ash gray growth. I want to "usher in the gray" but I want to add a couple of lowlights in a very ashy cool tone so that the salt-n-pepper doesn't look so "salty." I saw on the redken website "SLATE BROWN" that was a perfect color for me, but I don't see where a consumer can get that. now I'm thinking I should just tone with redken "iron" toner. curious to hear your opinion. THANKS

    I want to make a root melt and I bought Redken shades eq 5N walnut and blended it a bit to overlap the beginning of the bleached which I used 9N on. But it cant Blend at all, and it has a tint of muddy green, looks bad on the overlap/ smudge What should I do? Any advise 🙏🏼✨✨✨✨ thanks

    I’m trying to get rid of my red orange hair color. My new growth is about 1-2 inches of level 3, and the length is red/orange level 6/7. I was thinking of using 5NA with 30 vol on the new growth and the use 5NA with 20 vol on the length. Please let me know your opinion.

      Shades eq doesn't lift hair why would you use 30vol?? Also you need the GN series of you really wanna cancel red! 😁

    Hi Girls, I'm about to color a girls hair 3n espresso...she is a level 8/9 goldish tone...do I need to fill first?

    • @DaniellaBenita
      @DaniellaBenita  5 років тому +2

      Stacey Ali I definitely would! We like filling with a gold tone instead of red so I would mix a level 6 and then apply the 3 ❤️❤️❤️
