The sea was amazingly wild! The swimmers had to be very strong just to hold their own! As you see, I have reached 40, as well as watching the new ones as they arrive. Every episode is wonderful and well done. Thank you!
What an interesting fact Bonacci, well explained with pictures and everything being governed by it 👍🏼. Just love that jacket on you and beautifully knitted. Storm at sea small project is fab but large quilt really makes you feel the movement of the sea, can’t wait to see finished project with quilting. I do so like old fashioned remedies and cleaning materials. Now natural lemon and salt to clean crockery sits with me much better than bleach. Definitely trying that one and the Eccles recipe. Dear Eva, what a busy life and so much energy and caring for extended family. How we judge or label ourselves so young 🤦🏼. Oh another first, my favourite little bird but never seen a pied, only the basic recipe 😁. Fantastic rough sea and crazy surfers I can just smell the seaweed. Have a lovely break, look forward to 31st 😍
Oh thanks Kay, I thought the same about the lemon and salt. Beavering away at the quilt. I've just had a suggestion on youtube about Fibonacci rule in music too!
Wow, that sea was just rolling and roaring🌊🌊! I could watch it for hours. No way would you catch me surfing, that must be freezing cold. And the quilt top is gorgeous. It's so cool to see how the patterns show up as you stitch the blocks together. Love the colors. Thanks for sharing. Always so interesting to hear Mom's stories and see what you've been up to. Have a wonderful two weeks.
The quilt is gorgeous, but an exacting one with the stripes needing to be cut exactly right and the points all needing to be matched and all that on the bias. I'm enjoying the challenge though and can't wait to see it quilted by Smartfrog. Thank you for joining me Karen.
A most interesting Vlog Pene, I do recall reading about the numbers in nature but didn't know it was called the Fibonacci Sequence, it is fascinating indeed! What a joy listening to you and Eva, I used to move the furniture about too but not so much to clean but just for a change! I found the the stormy sea mesmerising, I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the surfers out - are they mad perchance!! Thank you again for all the work you put in to making your vlog so enjoyable. Lorna xxx
I've just read that the Fibonacci sequence applies to music too so I may carry my f. fact forward to next episode too! It's truly wonderful. No wonder we enjoy being out in nature. I was so worried about the surfer but when I realised there was a group I left them to it! Thanks for joining me. xx
Hi Pene. Lovely to catch up this week. Beautiful quilt top, it's going to be stunning when finished. Great to hear your mums stories. She was a very house proud lady. I managed to finish my wedding shawl. The wedding is next Saturday, we're all so excited. Our little grandson woke up with chicken pox this morning! Thankfully he's got a week to come round. Take care🌈
Hi Angela, I can't wait to finish the quilt now. Mum's house is still pristine but very homely at the same time, she's marvellous. Congratulations on your wedding shawl and how exciting. I will be thinking of you and hope the weather is good. Chicken pox! Would you believe it - what timing. Hope it all goes well and you all enjoy yourselves together. xx
Your cardigan is beautiful. I've managed to find a copy of the Rowan book online and am going to use up some of my stash to give the cardigan a go. I'll let you know how I get on 🤞Oh my word!! Just look at that sea. I would have loved to have been there 😊 Mum's reminiscing is delightful. I love listening to her. It's amazing how much she remembers but I'm so glad she does. Brings back lots of memories for me too. I remember geography at school and particularly remember doing the Queen's visit to India - we did a project on it. I wonder if you and Eva remember it. Have a good break 😊
Ooh that's great. It's a lovely knit. How satisfying to use up stash too. It truly was great to be walking by that sea. It was so loud. I'll pass your comment on to mum and will ask her about the Queen's visit. Take care.
Thank you for sharing how you sew together your knitted makes, I shall try that way next time I finish something, I've used mattress stitch in the past and find it leaves a bulky seam, the running stitch looks much neater. Love your quilt too, you are very talented :-). That sea looks positively wild, but still some brave, or mad person surfing in it! wouldn't catch me in it although I would have wanted to stand and watch it all day. Your fascinating fact was very interesting, i've never heard of it but nature is very clever in it's design isn't it.
Hello Maggie, I'm knitting Pete's WYS jumper at the moment and when ready I will sew a bit of the seam up on the episode. It is a neat seam but have never thought about it, just done it! I can't wait to finish the quilt now I know I'm going to have it long arm quilted. It's exacting work but I'm enjoying it. Fibonacci was amazing to have discovered an amazing fact too I think. As you know I can't add up 2 and 2!!
Thank you for today’s episode, Pene! I particularly enjoyed your video and photos of the sea at the end, though I was a little worried about the body-boarder (or was it a surf board?) in that rough sea! I haven’t tried a quick flaky pastry recipe before so I’m keen to give that a go, and I do love Eccles cakes! Thanks for another lovely chat with your mum and also for this week’s fascinating fact! Such a lot to enjoy - thank you so much! xx
So glad you enjoyed it. I will make the 'proper' eccles cakes recipe next episode and we will do a taste test! I started filming the body boarder as I was so worried about him but then saw he had a friend so felt I could leave him. Will pass your message on to mum. Have a lovely time with your nieces. xx
Oh my goodness, thank you so much. I love it. Have purchased it on Amazon and it will be arriving on Wednesday. Will show you in my next episode. Thank you - amazing.
I have just found your channel and absolutely love it.. Thank you for explaining the Fibonacci. I've heard of the Fibonacci but never understood it till now. I love the chat with your mum, the Eccles cakes, my dad use to make them too, and the beautiful filming and still shots at the end, stunning.. Thank you.. I'm a fan😍
So glad you've found me. Thank you for such lovely comments. I'll pass them on to mum. I've just found the perfect recipe for the eccles and in episode 41 I explain it. See you then!
My great grandmother was so talented with everything, as you are. She taught me to sew, embroidery & needlepoint. She passed before she could teach me how to crochet anything but a granny square & now I'm 70 & in search of a good teacher! I'm in SW part of U.S. Can you fly over & teach me😉 I made a giant granny square bedspread for our guest bedroom...lol
Thank you so much Pene, I have enjoyed every minute of this episode. I love listening to your mum, such a wonderful lady. Your cardigan is beautiful and I can't wait to see the Storm at Sea quilt finished, I would love to make a quilt but I'm still not getting very far with the English Paper Piecing that I started. Watching you make the Eccles cakes was making my mouth water lol, they look yummy. Hope you have a lovely break, look forward to seeing you on the 31st xx
Thanks so much Sue. The quilt is coming along well. What's holding you up with the EPP? Is it like I had a 'silent barrier' or just time? The eccles cakes were gone in no time - never mind freezer! See you soon. xx
@@penelopeschinwag I’m not really sure what is holding me up with the EPP, I certainly have the time so it’s not that, and I can see all the hexies and the fabric sitting there staring at me but I just don’t pick it up and do it lol. Xx
I also bought this kit and it’s my first kit..I had it sitting around for 2 years and watched Janet Clare video many times got it down couple weeks ago….spent several days cutting it out.began sewing 3 days only got three blocks done as she said it’s not chain piecing.
It sure is a slow make and you have to watch the direction of the fabric at every turn. Not easy but looks terrific at the end. I show you it finished on episode 62. xx
Your Eccles cakes look delicious…I love them too I might make some , trouble is I don’t think I could stop at one 🤔I wonder if they would be okay to freeze. Thanks for another interesting podcast I always learn something new ❤️
Thanks Tracey, they are delicious, although technically eccles are made with currants. Will make those next time and Pete will tell us what he likes best! The homemade mince is so delicious though. I froze them and then popped in micro for 20 seconds. Waste of time freezing! They kept being taken out until they were finished.! Straight from the oven is best but frozen is still very good.
Good morning lovely to meet you I’ve just started joining you and working my way through your previous videos really enjoying them just wanted to say I love your apron did you make it yourself x
Penny I have a Question for you…. I really enjoyed all your counselling parts…is it possible that you could put all your counselling onto one film? I think it would be amazing 🦚
It would take me some time, and I do wish I had done it from the beginning! I was thinking of going over it again and maybe making a playlist from that. Just to let you know there is a playlist of all the films at the end so you can play them on their own. Thanks Trudy.
I love watching you Penny especially your chats with your lovely Mum. Enjoy your holiday xx
Thank you Margaret. Love having you along too.

Thank you Pene! Really enjoyed watching 😍… need to catch up on a few more xxx
Oh, Georgina, I was thinking about you this morning and was wondering if you were ok. So glad to hear from you. Happy to have you along again. xxx
This whole vlog was lovely jubbly. Thank you.
my pleasure or as Del boy would say mange tout!
Thanks Pene, great vlog as usual :) x
Glad you enjoyed it

There is a fabulous knitting pattern by Scheepjes for a fibonacci shawlette. It's lovely but I've not been brave enough to attempt it yet!

I have done it Trudy. All the counselling is in its own playlist and as I do more I will add to it. Hope that helps.
