We certainly have lived parallel lives! My eyes misted as soon as you said "Que sera, sera". It seemed to play every morning as mom fed us breakfast before school. We would both sing along and talk about what it meant. So sweet!
Always such a joy to watch and listen to, such a beautiful garden you share with us. I’m amazed how much your family all resemble each other .Your very inspiring Pene.
Thank you, Pene - so lovely to spend time with you again! I love making lemon curd too and it never seems to last long, however much I make! An absolute highlight today was your mum playing the piano, with you singing! I like nothing better than a good singsong around the piano! It was also wonderful to be taken on a walk around your garden, so thank you for that, too. Take care xx
Yes, mine has gone with pancakes yesterday! Mum came for lunch and spent some time discussing her next song to play. I'm so pleased for her! The garden is so dry, I don't think we've had rain for weeks apart from a little sprinkling of rain. I'm glad you enjoyed the episode. Enjoy your week. xx
Every second was so enjoyable. Your Mum plays beautifully and is such a joy. You have a beautiful family, they all look so kind. Your garden is a real oasis. Thank you for being so inspiring and friendly.
Well, thank you Deborah. We don't go out much now and you're right the garden has become an oasis. Singing with mum was emotional. The years from the 50's till now seemed to pass in a flash before my eyes. See you next time.
Oh my goodness, I am so glad this popped up in my youtube feed. Your blog is food for the soul. I was feeling very sad, I live in the US, and your sweet mom playing Que Sera Sera lifted me. I am 72 and this song brought back good times.
Hello Sandra, I am so happy you found me and the episode lifted your spirits. Doris Day has cheered mum, me and my girls up at different times. They loved her film 'with six you get egg roll! and I loved Que Sera Sera. Thanks for your kind words
Such a lovely vlog, Pene! 💞 I love your knitted rabbit and her darling dress, shorts and jacket! They're so adorable!! It was wonderful to hear you're mom talk and play piano and your voice sounded lovely. I always enjoy your fun facts and films at the end. What a sweet family picture when your daughter came to visit. Thank you so much for sharing!! 🥰
Thanks Debbie, I'll pass the message on to mum. I enjoy finding the f. facts and making the films. I always wonder what next week will bring though! Enjoy your week.
I came across your channel a few days ago, and have enjoyed all the catch up episodes. I have the knitted animal book but not made anything ,but watching you makes me wants to. You have a lovely family, and really enjoyed watching you with your mum. I hope she plays for us again how marvellous she is and you are lucky to have your mum. Thank you again for letting us peep into your life.
Thank you Susan, Next week I'll show you Tilly. I not usually a maker of animals so feel nervous assembling her. I hope I do her justice. - we'll see. Thanks for joining our happy band.
Lovely episode Pene. Andy has bought me both knitted animal books for my birthday, so a cute Zebra is on the cards. Lemon curd is also a favourite of mine, yours looked delicious. Lovely photo of you with your girls. It tickled when your daughter was talking of how long they'd been married. I had just had a similar conversation with my mum. It's our anniversary next week, 32years. How time flies! Have a good week, take care 🌷
How lovely, both books. Can recommend the lemon curd. so easy and delicious. We finished it off with pancakes today with mum. I can't believe they are coming up for 34 years, granddaughter 4 years. As you say how time flies. Enjoy your week too.
I found you channel about two months ago. I have watched every episode. I thoroughly enjoy all of what you do. I always learn something new. Thank you!
Thank you Christina. I feel a bit hesitant when I look back to episode one. I have learned as I went along. So glad you're enjoying the episodes. There is always something to learn isn't there. See you next time.
That was a wonderful podcast, thank you so much for sharing time with your lovely family. Watching you doing the cooking always makes me hungry lol. I have the knitted animal book and you have inspired me to get it out and start making one of the animals. Your garden is beautiful. Have a lovely week xx
Thanks for watching Sue. I finished the hare today and really love her. I've never knitted toys before - only Duncan who sits on the settee having a chinwag with his chums at the beginning of episode. I feel its a waste of time, should be knitting things to wear, practical things, but I've so enjoyed the process and we're not short of jumpers! More cooking coming up as I'm testing gluten free flour for Kim.
Loved catching up with you. I might have to have a go at making lemon curd, i didn't realise it was that easy, thank you for showing. Love the section with your mum, she is such a dear, and what a great photo of all you girls together :-). You have a beautiful garden and I enjoyed seeing the chickens too. The hare is going to be fab, the clothes are so cute, can't wait to see it all put together. Have a good week
Hi Maggie, it is so so simple and I'm glad I found out how long it keeps. Mine has all gone! A viewer suggested pancakes and we had them for lunch and finished the curd. I shall always have a jar in fridge. I'm nervously sewing the hare up at the moment. I'm new to toy knitting. Let's see what happens. Enjoy your week too.
Lovely podcast again! My Delia Smith has been taped up back and front with silver duck tape as it is always the first recipe book I turn to when I need inspiration! I've made her lemon curd a few times and it never lingers! Love it on English pancakes. Your meringues look perfect, crispy but chewy! That's a skill!! I saw that the new trifle for the Queen's jubilee has a lemon curd Swiss roll base, I'm looking forward to having a go at making it!! Lovely family time. Thank you.
Hi, thanks for your message. Pancakes, yum. Mum's coming for lunch today so me thinks they'll be made! The meringues were crispy but a little chewy. Kim loved them but I was worried - were they too chewy. She said no and you now say a skill. Marvellous. I saw the trifle too and was surprised it won over the cakes. Made me think I will make it too. Will probably film it so we can compare thoughts!
I found you a couple of weeks ago so will be catching up as I get chance! Your vlogs are very different to any other crafty ones which makes you unique but very very interesting, especially the bits with your mum xx
3 Ply podcast in the states recommended your podcast. I too live in SE uk lovely to have found you. Delia so well used of course. Remembering salads too when my mum used to shape the tomatoes :) I would love to knit some animals but keep going down so many crafting rabbit holes. Thanks for sharing and to the special moment with your mum. Reminds me of some happy times too. See you again soon :))
Always a lovely vlog. I enjoy all of it. I look forward to seeing the rabbit all stitched up and dressed next week🤗 Your mom has amazing talent. I love Que Sera Sera. I was singing along😉. It's funny how the recipe book had so many lemony things. If I wrote a cook book, it would all be chocolate😁. I enjoyed seeing you cook and sharing with family. So many people are finding they are gluten intolerant so I think it will be easier to find recipes to satisfy everyone🤗. Your garden is beautiful. And aren't chickens fun? Our chicks are about nine weeks old now and we've only just let them outside. So funny to watch them zoom around. And then panic when a leaf falls. But it is amazing how their instincts work as they know to watch the sky for predators. Thanks for sharing! See you next week.
I will imagine you singing along. What a super song it is. I would go for lemon every time over chocolate. I'm going to try and cook up something to satisfy all tastes re the gluten. Watch this space! I know what you mean about ducking when a leaf falls. How lovely they are all out now. It sounds like your weather is warmer at last.
I’ve just found you on UA-cam, such a wonderful video, ive absolutely loved spending time with you and your family. Your mums reminiscing is so lovely and wow her piano playing is so lovely. Hi Penny I’m new to your channel, and I really enjoy it, it’s so nice and relaxing to watch. I live in the uk in Lincolnshire. I do knit, crochet and sometimes cross stitch, I mainly just make things for charity’s which I enjoy. Those cakes looks delicious xx

@@penelopeschinwag Your very welcome, they do it appreciate it, especially for the babies. I love your knitting bag too, I can't sew myself but I do like to see things being made. Your mum plays the piano really well too. Has I'm a full time carer for my parents my hobbies keeps my mind occupied xx

Hello Penelope 🙂 … thank you for this lovely video! I absolutely adore the knitted animal friends! The dress and the cardigan and the little shorts are just so cute. I know the book, but I don’t have it. I wonder if the patterns are clearly written? Is it difficult to knit all the parts? Enjoy your Sunday! 🌷
Hello Marjam, The patterns are so well written it makes it a pleasure - everything explained clearly. I didn't find anything difficult. However not being a toy maker I will be pleased when I have put her together and am happy. Will show you next week.

There are plenty of tutorials on UA-cam. Have a go!
