When I lived in New Orleans those Mardi Gras Dubloons would get me every time, I'd look down and see what looked for all the world like a silver dollar only to pick it up and see Krewe of Rex or something. I had a few hundred of them from parades and digging but my daughter confiscated them when she was two.

Mardi Gras doubloon. I lived in New Orleans for two years. Those were thrown from floats during parades. I still have a bunch.

I was metal detecting a park here in Roseland Nebraska. Supposed to be around 1880s when it was homestead. Only taco money.

do you ever go up to random houses and ask if you can detect and split the profit with them?
We usually offer to give it all to the landowner in exchange for letting us film. However our area has been hammered by detectorists and some have left a bad name for the hobby so it’s getting much harder to score permissions.

What acid do you use to 100% clean bottles and make them completely safe to drink out of?
I never use acid on anything that will be used to drink from.
@@adventurearchaeology what do you use to fully clean bottles? My 1929 pluto water bottle has a tiny spot inside of it with a green tint to it. My kinda sucky bottle brush can not get it off.
