When my 30 year old son was a baby the doctor prescribed paregoric to help with teething pain. When my second child was born and I asked the doctor could I please have some more paregoric to help with teething pain I was told absolutely not! Pediatrician said paregoric is a narcotic and definitely not prescribed anymore. Gram mom said mother’s would give to children in olden days to help with diarrhea and upset stomach’s. Fun video Branden 😊 thanks for taking us along 🤗
My wife an I do everything together, but I'm not sure I would be able to get her down in a hole in the dirt. Pretty awsome your wife joins you, and seems to really enjoy it. Thanks for the great videos!
Y'all always make my Fridays! Thanks and congrats to all. I unknowingly dug into a mass of poison ivy roots once in Louisiana and ended up with the worst case in my life. Eyes swelled completely shut for a whole day...and that day was Christmas. ♥
When I was about 10, (71 now) my Dad use to take me bottle hunting in the southern San Diego California mountain homesteads. He ran a minimum security county jail crew cleaning roads, working wildfires, etc., in a SD County Camp in the mountains. One bottle trip, he called me over to the edge of a large boulder, & I found over 20 cool finds, including old insulators. I knew he & his crew stashed them, but I still had fun. Thanks for the memory. & yes, I still have quite a few of them.
I would love to see you do a tutorial type of video to explain things like hutch, straight side, etc. As someone who recently started watching your videos, I get tripped up by the lingo used in bottle hunting, I do like when you tell the history of the bottle. Happy hunting.
What you are doing really looks like fun ‼️Plus you are finding things from a hundred years ago plus ‼️ Your channel is really interesting to top it off 👍💰
Paregoric, was available on prescription up till about 10 years ago. We dispensed a lot of it for diarrhea. It contained camphor, opium, and alcohol. When I was a baby my mother worked at Whites Drugstore in Pratt City. You were allowed to buy one ounce at a pharmacy, without a prescription in Alabama. Mom rubbed it on my gums for teething pain.
You got this ol Alabama boy back into bottle digging and Metal Detecting! I am a new subscriber, keep up the great content. Holler if you ever hit Covington County AL.
I live about 45 minutes from Galesburg Illinois! So cool you found a bottle from my neck of the woods all the way down in Alabama! Love your channel!!!
Very cool video, I enjoy watching you find neat things. The bottle shown at 18:20 with the rounded bottom that would not have sat up on its own most likely had a basket type of holder attached to the bottom originally. This would have allowed it to sit on a surface. Several years ago I brought home from Italy a small wine bottle with an attached woven holder, and my bottle is about the same size as what you found.
Brandon, Collier, Meyer Brothers, McKessons, and Walker Drug were major drug wholesale houses serving Birmingham drugstores in the 1930’s through the sixties. My parent’s drugstore in Centerpoint bought from them. Also I would love to buy one of yours Bains Drug Woodlawn bottles. On one of your older videos you found a Gilmers Drug Ensley bottle. They went out of business about one year ago. I enjoy all your videos😊
Wow, That Jenkins Stomach Bitters was an incredible find. Listed as rare in the Ring book, bottle is out of Nashville Tennessee. Did it have W.McC & Co on the base?
Nice little handmade swirl marble...came out of ground better than I would have expected...That small pitcher made me think of small glazed China toys American Toy Marble plant made in late 1890s to early 1900s..
Paregoric = 🤮 … when we were kids in the mid 50-early 60’s if we got a stomach bug our mom gave us this. Our Dr didn’t hesitate to prescribe it but we only got a bad stomach bug about once a year. Twas Nasty tasting as all get out but it worked. Great dig site!! Love y’all’s channel!! ❤
Can you give any advice on how to locate old dump sites, etc. in NW Florida? I live about 45 minutes S. of Andalusia, AL. I was able to find an old dump site many years ago, I think it dates back to the 1930’s. Unfortunately not too many years ago the property was deemed livable after the EPA had shut down the possibility prior. Everything was bulldozed into piles so homes could be built. There are still pockets that were not affected, but it’s hard to get access now. Any info. would be deeply appreciated.
Y'all need a 1/4" mesh sifter like you see on archaeological digs to see what else you're missing. Cool dig! Maybe a volunteer crew could be sifting for you as you dig or on a whim go back and sift your piles. They are easy to make and portable ... anyway that's enough armchair coaching from here in Alaska. Take care out there and have fun!
You need to research the windshield kit thing!! You mentioned a J. Fox bottle briefly, is it in the video? The round one I have seen on the UK diggers way more than US diggers.
My sister, who lives in North Carolina, just got into some poison ivy also! They say either you’re allergic to it or you’re not. I’ve never gotten into it, so hopefully I am not. Great video as always.❤
Hi yall. I have a Jacob's Pharmacy, Atlanta and a Jacob's, Alabama. I dug both of them from an old farm site in Gwinnett County Georgia. Are they rare? Love yall and don't miss an episode. That green round bottle bottle I think is an Italian wine. It would have had a basket it sat in that made it sit upright and served as the bottom. I think that's correct but could be wrong lol. Would have been a more recent bottlre.
the round bottom bottle could have been a wine that was caning around the bottle so it will stand up right. but the dump would consume the wood caning, leaving the bottle behind.
Oh man bro, I know that feeling all too well. Got poison ivy a few times while metal detecting, the last time I got it, I must have rubbed my eyes, probably to wipe sweat, and it blew up all over my face, arms, tops of my hands. It lasted for 3 weeks. ( even with medication) and yes, I always wear gloves. Hope you get better soon.
Oh my gosh! I was wondering when a Paregoric would come out! Ugh! I remember that! The good Lord forbid you said you felt bad in front of Mom, you would get a dose. Upset stomach? Toothache? Earache? That was the nastiest stuff ever! And then you slept for DAYS!!!
What is cholera? Cholera is an acute, diarrheal illness caused by infection of the intestine with the toxigenic bacterium Vibrio cholerae serogroup O1 or O139. An estimated 1.3 to 4 million people around the world get cholera each year and 21,000 to 143,000 people die from it. People who get cholera often have mild symptoms or no symptoms, but cholera can be severe. Approximately 1 in 10 people who get sick with cholera will develop severe symptoms such as watery diarrhea, vomiting, and leg cramps. In these people, rapid loss of body fluids leads to dehydration and shock. Without treatment, death can occur within hours.
Does anyone in the comments have any suggestions of how to find these dumps? I recently found an old farm house foundation (very old) and some old relics out in the woods. Going to try and find who owns the property before digging.
My younger sister loved the taste of Paregoric. Mom had to hide the bottle after she caught sis trying to drink directly from it! Oddly enough, I'm the old hippie in the family.😎 I didn't like Paregoric and didn't care how many times they told me it tasted like my favorite black jelly beans!
I have suggested to several bottle diggers to use the windshield crack repair stuff to repair bottles. Is that a crazy idea? Is it against the code of bottle diggers or maybe there is a reason it does not work? Somebody address this please.

.I am 79 & still would like to get out there with you all! How exciting your explorations are to me.
My wife an I do everything together, but I'm not sure I would be able to get her down in a hole in the dirt. Pretty awsome your wife joins you, and seems to really enjoy it. Thanks for the great videos!

Those round bottomed bottles were meant to be stored on their side so that the cork would not dry out and shrink, thus spoiling the contents.
Great watch. Loved all the new bottles.
Thanks for watching!

Great Galesburg Bottle, I dug one earlier this year. He was in the Galesburg City Directory two years and then moved to Peoria..
Another amazing dig. So many awesome embossed oldies. Great job everyone!
Beautiful finds, Brandon! Great idea checking the spoils piles with the detector!❤
I would love to see you do a tutorial type of video to explain things like hutch, straight side, etc. As someone who recently started watching your videos, I get tripped up by the lingo used in bottle hunting, I do like when you tell the history of the bottle. Happy hunting.
Perigoric was also used to treat gripe and cholic
Like your name! LOL
We rubbed it on babies gums for help with teething pain. Yikes dr than said narcotic can’t prescribe anymore 😮
Everyone had great finds out of those two dumps. It is the highlight of my Friday to see yall in action, keep them coming
Miranda is a boss!!
What you are doing really looks like fun ‼️Plus you are finding things from a hundred years ago plus ‼️ Your channel is really interesting to top it off 👍💰
Some really cool finds, love it when you pull out the metal detector too! Great video!
Awesome dig and finds!

Awesome finds. Too bad some have cracks. Very informative video also. Thanks Brandon
Another great video!
Wow you guys went to town great digs my friend ❤😊
You got this ol Alabama boy back into bottle digging and Metal Detecting! I am a new subscriber, keep up the great content. Holler if you ever hit Covington County AL.
We used this medication for our babies in the late sixties for tummy aches ‼️
I live about 45 minutes from Galesburg Illinois! So cool you found a bottle from my neck of the woods all the way down in Alabama! Love your channel!!!
Love your channel! I’ve learned so much!

Super Cool Hunt
I used to walk the creek in the suburbs as a kid looking for treasure. So it is nostalgic for me.
Awesome diggin' y'all 😎👍!!!
Great video
Very good dig guy’s and girls! Some really nice bottles, but I’m not surprised. You do great all of the time. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💜
Are these all old outhouses that you are digging?
No we dig old city dump sites!
They yoused Perigoric for seizures my little brother was given that in the 1960s Cool find's ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️⚒️🇺🇸🗝️
Awesome content.
The round bottomed bottle is a Chianti wine bottle, would have been covered with a wicker cover which formed a base to stand it up
You are exactly right!
Always look forward to your videos.
Awesome finds!! Great job everyone!!❤❤❤❤
Loved this video. Congrats on all the finds. Amazing as always.
In addition to the hunting excitement, it's fun to listen to the various accents! (I wish you'd shared some history of that bulbous bottle.)
Great video...🥰🥰

Several of those you mentioned went all the way back to around 1900.
I just found one of those little dr kings yesterday, my first bottle from 1800s 🎉
Awesome
Wow, That Jenkins Stomach Bitters was an incredible find. Listed as rare in the Ring book, bottle is out of Nashville Tennessee. Did it have W.McC & Co on the base?
I’ll have to ask James and find out!
Nice little handmade swirl marble...came out of ground better than I would have expected...That small pitcher made me think of small glazed China toys American Toy Marble plant made in late 1890s to early 1900s..

I have been near Galesburg. IL all my life. That is amazing finding a bottle from there. I am not familiar with that company.😊
Always fun going on treasure digs with you all!

When I was a kid we were still using Paregoric. Grand Union became a grocery store chain, at least here in NY
Illinois? Indiana? You're finding bottles from my region! Nice finds!
Get it!
Have you tried future floor wax on paper labels ? Its worth a try . ❤you all.
I enjoy watching your videos. It's like a treasure hunt. How do you know where to dig?

You need to research the windshield kit thing!! You mentioned a J. Fox bottle briefly, is it in the video? The round one I have seen on the UK diggers way more than US diggers.
It’s in one of our last 5 or 6 videos. The one where it looks like I’m laying on the bottom of a hole!
My sister, who lives in North Carolina, just got into some poison ivy also! They say either you’re allergic to it or you’re not. I’ve never gotten into it, so hopefully I am not. Great video as always.❤
05:35 that says Opium! 😯

Both are great druggist bottles due to their tie to Coca Cola! Congrats!
How do I find locations near me to do digging like you. I live in DE.
I found a miners tag in marvel Alabama near pipper and bulldog bend
Is there a museum of a collection may be viewed here in the South (South Alabama or western Florida?
Not that I’m aware of sadly!
Good video! Sorry you got the poison ivy.
Hey Brandon it's William if you're trying to save that label dry Hairspray I've been digging 45 years works for me
I’ll have to give that a shot!
I have dug those bulbous round bottom bottles in Scotland. Identical. 👍
Beautiful bottles for sure. We don’t really find them over here!
Hi , I wonder if anyone has tried. to use windshield crack eliminate or? Just a thought, BTW love the history ya'll dig up.
Great bottles all around. That round bottle is an Italian wine bottle that used to have wicker on it.
You are correct!
the round bottom bottle could have been a wine that was caning around the bottle so it will

The s in Illinois is silent sir
A couple drops in his bottle, happy baby. My son is 40. Old time fix.
Oh my gosh! I was wondering when a Paregoric would come out! Ugh! I remember that! The good Lord forbid you said you felt bad in front of Mom, you would get a dose. Upset stomach? Toothache? Earache? That was the nastiest stuff ever! And then you slept for DAYS!!!

Please No s in Illinois. Silent S
I have an old chero bottle. It only says Property Of Chero Cola. Never could find any info on it…
Does anyone in the comments have any suggestions of how to find these dumps? I recently found an old farm house foundation (very old) and some old relics out in the woods. Going to try and find who owns the property before digging.
We have how to videos if you comb through the video library.
Paregoric contained OPIUM ! I remember my Mom giving me this when I was a Child. (asthma attacks) tasted of Licorice.
The round bottom bottle would have had a straw base...Italian chianti wine bottle.
Not sure but that large tear drop looking bottle probably had a rope or wicker basket around it here in Australia that's how I have found them
Phonetic spelling
Call-er-a 👍 Cholera (called Blue Death) was a bacterial infection that caused diarrhea & extreme dehydration
The green round bottom bottle looks like a chaniti wine bottle. It would have had a woven basket type base
Exactly what it is!
Paregoric had Opium in it. And I'm old enough to have taken it when I was a child. Tasted terrible.
I remember my mom giving me this as a child 👍🏼 Paregoric: Camphorated tincture of opium

I have wondered that myself if it would work on bruised bottles
the two eagle chip could be a poker chip
That’s what we think it is.
Does Tristan have a channel?
Afraid not!
For pain and sleep‼️
One of the reasons it's a narcotics one side effects is drowsiness mine for put in my bottles. So I would wake up eate then go back to sleep
KOLL-ER-UH... you know, the deadly disease (a/k/a the blue death)
Pronounced CALL-erra, as in the disease (cholera).
That mini jug has script on it
Was just the glaze.
Is there any valuable ketchup bottles
