- After waiting all summer to get back on our colonial cob field we are finally picking right up where we left off last winter. We’ve already 5 hammered silver coins from the 1600s, about 20 large copper coins from the 1600s and 1700s, and countless buttons, buckles, and other artifacts. Today we are making our first venture into the second part of this amazing old field and it sure didn’t disappoint! Some incredible old coins including some real bucketlisters, all sorts or buttons, and even rare early silver that took our breathe away! All this and we haven’t even gotten close to the house yet so I ha e a feeling ever more incredible pieces are still to come! What a winter season this is gonna be!

We are fortunate to have such early US history. Over the years we’ve had our share of fields that haven’t produced much but this one has been that drool bucket since day one! 🙂

In my opinion from Lebanon Virginia the DIX token is the best find so far on this permission. I found in Virginia 2023

What happened to the live last Thursday? I quit my job, divorced my wife, and set fire to the neighbors house - just to get some peace and quiet while watching the Quarter After... I haven't slept since, just been staring at the screen, waiting for it to start.

Would love to know more information on your conductor button. Railroad collectors will definitely tell you how insanely valuable that button could be. Might deserve a closer investigation.

21:50 - an error variety exists for the Civil War token where "SPOT" is misspelled as "SPOOT" (presumably because someone was trying to balance the phrase out with "SHOOT"). Your example unfortunately has corrosion over that area of the token, but maybe you can get that bit of detail to show through anyway.

Holy cow it's a small world I found that same 2 piece Conductor button with a star on the center in Tuckerton NJ. My brother recently bought property there with his home that was built in the 1700's there with a lot of land on the main street coming from Philly and 2 other old homes on the property that he's gonna rent out. But his property goes up to the back behind the site where the 1870 Tuckerton train station once sat so I assumed it's from the old Southern Tuckerton RR that closed around 1935. I also found a 2 piece button there around the same time period with a "P" on it and I'm assuming it's for police I never bothered to research it too much. These are more modern compared to other older buttons I've found there but they're still probably from the late 1870's. Now I'm babbling watching these videos of good hunts gets me a little punch drunk but anyway what's even more crazy is I dug another thing you guys found in this video with an 1832 5 cent coin just like Rich's coin. It was less then 2 inches deep at the most no BS I thought it was gonna be can slaw and it is damn near mint condition and it shined right up. The camera might not show how small they are for other viewers to notice but as you guys see how very tiny they are it's no wonder how they can get lost and mines not holed either. I barely scratched the surface there I have a lot more to find so I'm not as jealous anymore (for now) but you guys are killing me week after week getting these great colonial sites like this I'm happy for you son of a #$
Can you guys give me some advice on audio settings for the legend? Mine sounds static through the headphones and the speaker.
Could they have gotten wet? The headphones themselves are not waterproof and I’ve seen some act wonky like that after getting water inside. They may still be covered under warranty though.
@QuarterHoarder I've only used it once. Never in or around water. Seems like a great machine but mine don't sound like yours did. I wonder if I need to balance the volume on the machine and the headphones.

The 1835 Capped Bust half dime Rich found is the Large Date, small 5C variety. It has XF details, retail value somewhere in the $300 range. It would likely get an "Environmental Damage" details grade, which would knock the value down a little. STUNNING COIN!! 😍

I find it mind boggling that the colonists lost so much money in those fields. There must have been a thousand people in that area.

OMG, I just found that exact hard times token 4 days ago, except mine has the error on the back that says, "Shoot him on the spoot" instead of spot. Make sure you check it for errors, there's a couple of them. Congrats, Doug, that's awesome.
