Rockhounding Life Meets the Yellowstone! Hunting for Agates with Jason from Rockhounding Life!

- In this one, our friend @RockhoundingLife from the opposite end of the continent and I hit the Yellowstone river! Jason was in the area for work so we decided to get him onto some Montana agates while he was here! We found some fantastic rocks including some gorgeous agates, petrified wood, and jaspers! After our hunt, we head back to the shop to cut a few of our finds! I hope you all enjoy this one, and I will have another one out soon!

16:14 if you really want to cut it that way in the slab saw you could always attach it to some wood blocks. I have seen people do it a few ways. Even saw someone do a massive batch of jb weld in a square mold with the stone in the middle so they could slab it haha.
Great finds, too bad about the lack of iris in that one, but it’s still a nice chunk that will be a great polished piece. Congrats again on the wedding! ⚒️🤘🪨
Deal there’s no need to apologize for not having a Videos out. The wedding takes precedence over everything and it was awesome to see everyone at the wedding. Do you record where and when each of your rock is found so that you can catalog them in someway? Also Theo, I think you need to clean up a little bit around your studio/lab and recording site! Love Your videos because your excitement is contagious!
In belgium it is law that you keep track of where you pick them up and that you "catalog" them. Think thats everywhere the same?

While the chevron agate was awesome, the banded chert at 2:54 was exceptional!
I hope you just keep that chevron agate as is! It’s just so unique and beautiful the way you found it. Thats just me though. Haha

I didn’t know you could take rocks from a national park🤷♀️🪨
They aren't in Yellowstone National Park. They're rockhounding the Yellowstone River which does flow out of the Park but the Yellowstone River is the longest free-flowing river in the lower 48 states, so it extends well beyond the park.
