ZeloT was at 74/75 whne BishOp killed the overlord, but ZeloT didn't have one in queue, so he was going to be supply blocked no matter what, though he could sacrifice a muta or two to free up supply if the Overlord hadn't died. It is crazy that a single overlord dying at 9:50 into the game is why ZeloT lost.

He was supply blocked from 10:08 to 10:20. It is a “mistake” but the error was forced by the MM pressure. He had to micro the mutas or they were going to get slaughtered / potentially another supply block. Possible that he could have optimized and popped the lurkers on time, but the T here made it as difficult as possible to do that. He clearly knew the window was closing and played the line that would give him the best (only) chance to win.
He clearly focused too much on the micro, as he didn't start morphing them for almost 20 seconds after the supply block ended, but the marines still would've gotten there about 5 seconds too soon anyway. If he'd somehow accounted for this (and started them on time), maybe he could've sacked the expansion and morphed them up the ramp, then it would've been interesting to see where the game went from there. Just goes to show how thin margins are at the top level, like Arto said.
Obviously bishop could have guaranteed win if he went cc first and defended 6 lings with 1 rine + 5 scv, but he only won because zelot made mistakes of not getting lurker at optimal micro time.
I am surprised Bishop didn’t use the Wraith strategy for this game to encounter with the Zerg player. What a strong 8 barracks built in the game and a strong defense. Overall, a victory had been looking forward. Nice game!
If he just stayed aggressive and didn't let them push out, it would have enabled him to push against the expansion's workers and then he COULD have kept up with the marines with mutas. You don't need AS MANY mutas to stop MM, and he was already ontop with Lurkers. Great game, though. Excellent micro and macro here.
I love this meme lol. I get seriously mad when I fuck up and dont get my upgrades/tech structures up. "SPIRE DIDNT MAKE FUCK" >175 minerals when trying to morph.

I really liked watching this game! It's always nice to see Terran infantry getting the spotlight for once. I know in SC2 bio is used much more, so it's even cooler to see a rarer move like this.
Felt like zelot didn't see the last 3 raxs, expecially the last 2. So in his mind he may still believe it was 5-6 rax, which may be why it felt like he was caught off guard with that last group of marines (not in his base but attacking his mutas)
Dude! just not I realized what the marine range icon stands for. It's a gun shooting towards top left. I was always thingking it was a wrench/pliers adding something to a bullet pointed bottom right... can't unsee it now.
Artosis suggesting to "rush lurker" at 6:30. You can't really rush lurkers in this situation, you're already so far behind economically to get mutas out so that you can put some pressure on and get a third "safely", rushing lurkers here means the Terran can just build up and army and push you on any timing they want. Whether that be siege tank or some form of marine upgrade. You either need to get some damage out with mutas or delay while you shore up your economy. Yes the zerg is on 3 base, but at the time RT suggests it, he has 22 drones. If your mutas get defended you'll need multiple creep colonies and you'll be down to the teens for drones.

Seems like Zelot didn't realize how all-in he was and thought he'd be able to pull back the mutas to defend on top of the sunken? Kinda seems like he moved his mutas into the second MM group without expecting it to even be there. Maybe depends on whether he was able to tell by the number of marines streaming down the ramp how many barracks Bishop was actually on

So Terran is an OP race that can just do cheesy all in and attack move and win?? With tier 1 units? Thats crazy
RT i would love to hear your thoughts on the wraith builds. What tier are they really when properly controlled and how much room is there for improvement?
Omg, my butt workout is done for today
i thought that zelot is moving the hydras to high ground so they can morph safely
Man I thought the frontmost group of marines was about to turn around and charge the mutas from behind, sandwiching them when he committed to the dive.
But man, seeing that window of no lurkers in the middle of the chaos as half the attack force is dying...
Guess that's why hes a pro and I'm not lol
Dude I was thinking the same thing!
Is that the fabled 8rax?
6 pool, not 6 pools!
This happens when a pro is bored and does things nobody expected
How do you know they were bored? Maybe some of them like trying to mix in other strategies to keep their opponents off balance?
@@TKGameGuy I don't. I was trying to make a joke
Starcraft 1 is just so much easier to follow as a viewer than 2, I can actually grasp what is happening 😂
Day 2 of asking for a mirror
Micro Hubris.
Zerg dekcuf by their own busy arrogance. Delicious!
25 seconds for a lurker to morph?
So 30 seconds for 2 lurkers to morph back to back right?
Great game
All of the broodwar chat trivia from legacy brood war paid off today. Pulled that lurker build time from the top of my head.
Seeing that super aggressive muta harass, and bishop rolling out with the insane barracks production was a banger!
My chills have chills.
1 game a day
8 rax used to mean something else 😂
Floating 600 600 when you know that push is coming, noninstant morph? Me thinks he didn't think he was going to die. Otherwise, that is some bad brain priority
He couldn't morph because he was supply blocked.
.
8 raxes? Who's the zerg again?
Zelot ❤
@Artosis You can't break 4 lurkers with 24 +1 armor marines? that's just sad.
omg what?!?!?!
bout time serves the zerg right for making cheesy muta rush strat that every zerg player does. finaly a terran won and it was because zerg made mistake of not making an overlord. but spamming marines aint a good strat its not sc2, sc1 marines aint good.
nice game
It’s crazy to think how a couple seconds could determine whether or not you win
Agreed!
terran version of crazy zerg? 8 racks? kekw
