There's something so delicious about watching Zergs have to deal with a gang of flying units picking off their workers and ignoring static D. It's exquisite.
Thank you, Artosis. Ive watched you and Tasteless on the GSL for years, and the Asl for not wuite as long, but years as well. Ill never forget watching my older brother play this game with his highschool friends as a kid. This game is something special.
On that PvT match, it reminds me of a saying: Amateurs do strategy; professionals do logistics. This isn't to say he was an amateur, only that he lost the macro game. It doesn't matter how flawless a person's strategy is in individual engagements. If they're being outproduced, they will lose eventually
More often than not this happens in PvT and I comment every time and everybody somehow thinks I'm wrong lol. If especially in PvT the P is significantly ahead, they can just keep attacking the Terran position to kill tanks and not have to worry THAT much about how they're trading.
50:44 I wanna say that that map was probably made with one of the 3rd party map editors where you can freely place units rather than staying within the confines of the grid that's normally there. 1:10:50 does RT's voice change for anyone else? i'm using headsets on my pc and his voice kinda sounds... different right at that mark.
I don't play but my guess is that zealot shields go down too fast and dragoons are too big to hit more than ~3. EMP is pretty slow and if zealots are running in, their shields are already down before you can land emp
Matrixing a tank often ends up doing more damage than EMP because it stops army momentum at the point where P is attacking the tank, so zealots and goons stand still firing longer and end up taking way more tank shots than they would have otherwise.
Really enjoying these games from this tournament. Using the ASL format with high quality players makes it super interesting. Watching this alongside the ASL is like getting dessert after a delicious main meal.
Artosis. My dog Dirk Nibbler will be turning 14 on the 9th next month and I'm hoping you can give him a shout out on his big day. Again thanks for the morning SC, best way to start the day.
@@veidroOh wow I'm getting old. I was typing out a long explanation about how youtube is the only social media I use and I don't know how to post pics of Dirk. Then I read your comment again and thought....... Hold on a second.
Hey i dunno if it's just a me thing. But any chance you could put the tournament name before or put a more generic title like round of 32 group f. I actually missed a couple of these cnsl videos i realized cause they had weird titles and i thought they were you doing a strategy video not one of the match casts. :)
I knew KoP was going to blow your expectations out of the water after seeing KoP's performance in the starcast tv starleague. (still watching his first game right now but I'm guessing he definitely gets out and probably wins the group)
Thoughts on Smash Melee possibly being in the same league as BW in terms of how long it takes to become a top player? Pretty much all the top melee players have been playing for a decade plus, and it's considered an incredibly fast rise if someone playing for 5 years or less places well at a big tournament.
I think we have to follow kOp ! He still have difficulty with transition and to be decisive, but learn the basics pretty well, he get better and better with what counts the most, not juste cheese.
I would argue it takes just as long to become a pro in Tekken. Also gets patched far more often than Starcraft meaning you have to relearn a lot of things again and again every 2-4 weeks. Old Korean pros used to play 12 hours a day on arcades (meaning you had actually less time to practice) and you fingers Literraly hurt from pressing buttons (unlike mouse clicking) Of course Artosis is just going to ingore my comment
@ArtosisCasts I want to disagree with you about SC BW being the most demanding esport and mention a random title like League of Legends. I'm not sure if I can come up with anything of value because I really agree that gameplay developed over three decades soon is most demanding. I just want to know how we still get so many excellent new players like, say, Soma. How do you see Flash with 20 years of experience and say to yourself, 'Yeah, I want to try to beat him?
I am not sure about anyone else but i am enjoying much more CNSL and NASM than ASL considering that sometimes it feels that the players at ASL throw games not even trying to win but instead just keep themselves part of ASL for the stream revenue.
I hate TERRAN because he make only siege tanks and wait until opponent attack. And Opponent Protoss or Zerg always need to make tactics to win. Here for example 26:53 dragon attack first to absorbe damage and next is zealots to destroy tanks in close combate where tahks not have a range and finaly becouse tanks is too strong always need to have High Templare to spell storm. Strategy is much harder do Zerg. Zerg players need to Make Hidras to use him like dragons, lings to replace zealots and Defiler to replace HighTemplare, but here is a terrable situation zerg units have less HP than prottoss units.
SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER HOPEFULLY THIS IS ENOUGH LINES! Poor machine, he totally misread his position overall and letting his lings die was such a huge mistake. Cost him the game
BREAKING NEWS! Man who's spent 25 years playing a game and turned it into his job thinks it's the best and hardest game! We'll have more on this revelation tomorrow!
Super Smash Brothers: Meelee takes more time than SC1 to be at top level in average. I have been following both games closely for 10-15 years and getting new up and comers in melee is very, very rare. Now we can argue back and forth about which, but Artosis is dead wrong when saying it's not even close

I remember noticing those butts as a kid, but this is the first time I've heard them so accurately described.

Yeah quite on point.
Tbf terran production is always behind protoss production, because any good protoss will have more bases than terran has because of mech low mobility.

Was trying to explain to my kids this morning, why Jesus and the easter bunny hide chocolate all over the backyard. We never got into the how of it.
Why do they do that though
I'm so happy for the CNSL. Love watching the casts! Such amazing players. Wanted kOp to win at least one match, but anyways, thank you, Arty!!

@19:14 Do mines hit High Templars? I thought since they floated they didn't get hit like Probes and other vultures and stuff.
they're the only floating unit that triggers mines.

i lol whenever artosis gets chills haha, but that second game was very good indeed
Anyone know why people dont EMP? It seems like people rather Matrix 1 tank for additional hit points vs EMP a chunk of units.
I don't play but my guess is that zealot shields go down too fast and dragoons are too big to hit more than ~3. EMP is pretty slow and if zealots are running in, their shields are already down before you can land emp

These are great! Learning a lot from your casts :)
what is the real advantage of the ' high ground' haven't noticed much for it in this other than the length of travel

Great fights from the terran, pulling his vultures out of the storms every time and using them to absorb the zealots.
The e-sport that takes the longest to become a pro in is Starcraft 3.

So many failed protoss attacks on entrenched terran positions, it was hilarious. And still he managed to swarm his opponent.
