Rotigus is looking very tasty at 230pts right now for me! Even the Nurgle Daemon Prince with Wings from the Chaos Daemons codex interests me a bit more due to being able to choose Precision, Lethal OR Sustainee Hits 1… and an additional inch of movement to boot 😂 Allies are so strong right now!
DG prince gets 1" less of moment, opportunity for enhancments, contagion, mortarion auras, dev wounds and force battleshock on charge at 195 points. The chaos prince is 235 points(due to requiring nurglings-which isn't bad to have nurglings but the forced amount of points can make or break a list) with 1" more of movement, options for sustained/lethal/precision in fight phase and once per game +3 attacks.....kinda hard to pick tbh. The flexibility of the chaos prince is good but the DG version just gets to benefit from army stuff more.
Funnily enough I had been brainstorming how to kitbash one without wings yesterday. I like the idea of stacking plenty of auras to buff my army and debuff the enemies, so the one without wings caught my attention
I've tried him a couple times with the aura enhancement as an alternative to using a hellbrute. Essentially just nuisance charging him. I still end up allying in the chaos nurgle version more often because of the extra attacks and the choice to get lethal, sustained or precision. He's a great character sniper in melee
the 6++ feels great on cultists and when your plague marines get hit by 2 damage weapons,the deamon prince is so close to being good,he needs a points drop OR he needs to give himself the 6++ and he needs lethel hits on his weapon
I took him without wings in my first ever game playing death guard against space wolves and my price kill 4 intercessors Ragnar black main and Lucas the trickster with ease and still had 5 wounds left I like him
I'm still mildly annoyed that the Death Guard Daemon Prince without wings is the only version that got 1 datasheet ability. Every other variant from Chaos Daemons, CSM, Thousand Sons, & World Eaters all have two abilities. 🥲
