Time to bring out the 10-man Blightlord brick with a Lord of Virulence and have Morty take the PBCs out for a walk again!
I love the Blightlords but I'm struggling to find room in my list, Bloat drones and Deathshroud spam has been going well for me with 3 PBC.
My favorite part was when Aiden assumed that my dice could actually roll to hit with entropy cannons, and on the extremely rare chance I do score a hit and a wound, I can spike a 6 on the damage roll. Pure comedy, man.
In all seriousness, this was a fantastic video and will clear up a lot of things for new and even veteran players.
Mortarion ignoring his own brackets on the datasheet feels like an oversight. I'm probably gonna let him be bracketed in friendly games

Could you chain the last pm in a 10 unit PM shooting unit so that its base was touched by the aura for all the benefits The lollipop effect. I envision :
Morty in front of 3 PBC, behind 3 drones with launchers and spreading out in various directions are 10 unit pm squads heading to the center objective. Maybe LOV WITH DST deep striking, and a helbrute to create tempting target
Yes you can as the Aura states within not wholly within. A single model in a unit touching the Aura would provide the buff to the entire unit
What about a PBC and LOV combo? Can you ignore the -1 for indirect, but keep the +1 to hit? Not sure if you can ignore one but choose to keep the other.
Indeed you can! Hit on 2s with indirect.

Good to see morty having some use again! One thing for me to clear up, his auras, from this model is the wording, he’s a big model! Do we measure from any part of the model to tag units to buff?
Looked this up to make sure, from pg 7 of the core rules. If I’m off here please let me know! Maybe there’s been some errata/changes post-Core.
CRB pg 7 - “ MEASURING DISTANCES
Distances in Warhammer 40,000 are measured in inches ("). You can measure distances whenever you wish.
When measuring the distance between models, measure between the closest points of the bases of the models you're measuring to and from. If a model does not have a base, measure to the closest point of any part of that model instead
If a rule says it applies within' a certain distance, it applies at any distance that is not more than the specified distance. For example, within 1" means any distance that is not more than 1”away.”

Help, if Thousand Sons use 9 cabal points for "Twist of Fate" on Mortarion, does that mean he can't make saves at all and just has his Feel No Pain?
That ability does not turn of invulnerable saves just normal saves. So you would have a 4+ invuln then a 5+ feel no pain
Does morty himself benefit from the aura? Or just units within 6?
Mortarion also benefits unless specifically stated units always count as being in range of their own auras.

So quick question ignores modifiers rule says it ignores range.. so does the rule bypass the lone operative ability?
Edit: ahh read lone operative ability. It's not directly modifying the unit. So ignoring modifiers does not affect/bypass lone operative.
Hi, can you clarify a point for me. I played against a mortarion and was told I cannot use lethal hits, sustained hits and dev wounds. I was also told I cannot use any of my characters abilities or stratagem (I.e. Helbrect high Marshall mortals or the Dev weapons stratagem for Grey Knights)
I cannot find the wording that allows them to turn off all abilities and stats
Your opponent was completely wrong. You cannot stop any of that. Mortarion only stops his own and allies nearby characteristics from being changed. He cannot affect your model in any way nor stop you using any abilities or rules you have.
Not all heros are covered in boils and smell like rotting flesh. ❤
Greath Vid, not sure if it was touched on but it say range modifiers, does that mean lone op can be popped outside of the range?
Dont think so, as Lone Op isnt modifying your range in any way.
Blightspawn is correct. There is no modifier here just a flat cannot be targeted.

You can't talk about Morty/LoV/PBC... without adding in the Helbrute! Youve come too far not to.
Hellbrute puts the contagion on a unit before the PBC shoots it. Even gets a buff on his plasma cannon from the LoV!
-1 AP & -1 T, on top of Morty/LoV/PBC is God damn oppressive!
The silver lining is the turn they decide to kill your helbrute, is a turn off my other units being shot off the board.
Helbrutes are crap and too expensive - but adding his special rule into this build is terrifying :)
Ignores mods now applies to weapons. So AOC and half damage are ignored

Unfortunately not. Its not modifying your saves its just a flat out you don't get to make saves

The Silent King has another AOE ignore modifiers.
Also he has 12 attacks of damage 2, which is better than mortarion basically.
And has 2 shots of damage 6. And 2 shots of damage 3. And 12 shots of damage 1.
Basically, get back in your place, trash.
And still nobody runs him.. WOMP WOMP. He's silent because he never sees the table.
