- Hey everyone Rho here! Today we're discussing the Emperor of Mankind and his possible orders to a returned Roboute Guilliman. Have the Emperor's words to the Primarch already been revealed?

Can’t forget about Cypher invading the imperial palace and a custodes getting a vision from Big E telling him to tell Cypher “Not yet”. Big E is definitely up to something.
Big E spent the last 10k years, perfecting god tier dad jokes, which he then unleashed upon Guilliman.

Launching the Indomitus Crusade made solid military sense. It is never acknowledged by Guilliman as coming from the Emperor, but always from his own initiative.
Big E basically doing an inception on Guilliman.
It's mentioned that every time Guilliman recalls the conversation with the Emperor he remembers it differently

The Emperor spent the last 10k years doing a DK windup punch and now that its fully charged, he has Guilliman setting up a juggle so he can land it.

06:19 but we learn from Vulcan's converstation with Magnus in the Impossible City that this is what Magnus percieved, but not what the Emperor said. There was no offer of redemption or a new Legion, just that Magnus' soul was shattered and only the worst parts of it remained, so he was delusional. What he did is beg for forgiveness and then be booted from the palace.
First Guilliman brought hope and unity during the Great Crusade. Now he is ordered to bring vengeance and retribution in the emperor's name. Oh how the turn tables.

With uncountable trillions paying homage to Him, offering sacrifices, and dying with His name on their lips over 10 millenia: the Emperor, if He wasn't a god prior to the Horus Heresy, surely would have ascended to godhood by now. A god to bring order to the Immaterium itself.

According to Vulkan the Emperor forgiving Magnus was just in Magnus's head.
A Vulkan clearly under the mental influence of the Emperor, priming him to kill Magnus without mercy.
You can read either EoE's or Fury of Magnus's version as the truth... I find the evidence for "Fury's" more convincing.
Makes no sense, then what reason would he have to open a path and give him a straight shot straight to the throne room? Interesting, but I think the Big E did all that to give "backup plan Magnus" a second shot

It is fully possible that Tzz influenced Vulkhan and big E influenced Magnus at the beginning of it and then recalled at the end after the corner stone was marked for each of them.

And it is proven that big E could not deal with Magnus by the way given the following events.

The thematically idea that Magnus and Vulkan are each manipulated and influenced to be unwitting champions in a Duel between two uncaring Gods...that works amazingly for me.

That Fury of Magnus short story was just weirdly written and felt out of place. Would be cool if the authors agreed to make that all a fever dream or something.
What really happened:

Guilliman: Ah shit here we go again
The sad thing about Magnus is that the Emperor had already forgiven him and only wanted to have him stand before the throne to answer for his folly and Russ was only meant to collect Magnus and return him to Terra. He was a staunch loyalist before Russ was tricked.
I feel like when Vulkan comes back they will use the artifacts and Vulkans perpetual nature to bring back the emperor in my opinion.
That is a rough way to remove Vulkan and restore the Emperor
The Emperor should never come back. It would ruin the entire setting. Him being an inhuman screaming husk worshipped against his will by a decaying empire is the whole core of 40k as a setting.

This'd also explain some of Big-E's conversations with Cawl, as well as the marrow-deep conviction of the latter in the divinity of the former.
With the Emporer being a perpetual (in later lore changes), does he have more options than just ascending the Golden Throne? In the Horus Heresy books we have seen what Vulkan, a perpetual could go through. The Emporer had already lived 40,000 years himself. However, the Emporer was inturned in the Golden Throne, being the beacon of the Astronomicon! How GW wants to play that in future narrative, we will have to see. As regards returning Primarchs, Guilliman was the one that set things on that the path that the Imperium became. What better choice than the one that proposed it!
Malcador was a perpetual too. The throne still drained him dead.
It's a catch 22 situation.
The power of the Throne and level of Psychic output The Emperor needs to power it is stopping his Perpetual power from healing him. Which is why he's been in this death like state for 10,000 years.
This is what happened to Malcador who was also a perpetual. The throne not only drained his physical body, its power also destroyed his soul. Killing him permanently.
But, if The Emperor leaves the Throne so that his perpetual power can heal him, then humanity is doomed and his return doesn't matter. Because the moment he leaves the Throne, the Webway under the palace rips open and all of Chaos pours through.
The emperor needed a replacement on the throne to die or regenerate from his current state. If he could have got Magnus back on his side then after defeating Horus he could have come back in good health. Same holds in M42. If there only could be a replacement, the Emperor could die, let Cypher kill him (for example) and return. Although what that means with his apparently fragmented self... There might be part of him in the body, a more or less a fully human emperor, and part of him in the Warp as a god. Add the Starchild, and you've got a nice Trinity going on in there.

The Man is the Master of Mankind for a reason. He’s not exactly an egomaniac. His boys should have had faith. I feel bad for Reboute after reading of his struggle with his emotions after meeting with the Emperor. I don’t think Reboute knows that The Emperor had to break off the compassionate human side of his soul in the battle with Horus. That’s why the Emperor seemed so cold and probably his lack of subtlety was do to the millennia of suffering on the throne. I agree with this young man. The Emperor loves his sons, all of them. There’s nothing they could do that would end that love. Speaking as a Father and Grandfather, you just can’t understand how much you can love your child. No matter how evil they have become, you still love them. He still loves them.
Yeah we get confirmation in The End and the Death part 2 that Malcador was the only one who noticed that The Emperor split his soul and expunged his kindness.
The emperor is a corpse who sits alone on a throne of lies. His is a fate that he brought upon himself through his own actions.

Even after sending the kind part of himself away, even as he kills him, he still tells Horus that he loves him. And to wait for him which who knows what's that about or what has happened to that chunk of himself in the interim.
people dont realize how much hes sacrificed... it pisses me off its been corrupted and twisted to excuse their shortcomings and fall to chaos(traitor primarchs) . its like as a dad you realise an alley full of crime exists and you tell your kids NOT to go near it or anyone that comes from it but the kids dont take your instruction seriously and do it anyway. as a parent you dont need to explain yourself sometimes. maybe the truth is too much for them. you have the right to gauge when its right to tell them . but the kids go off on their own get coerced and fall into a bad crowd and then start blaming you saying you lied to them....smh

I think Sandman made a good point. He said that The Emperor was trying to tell Guilliman what was coming and what he had to do.
Guilliman just didn't understand what his Father was saying. And instead took it as all theae insults being thrown at him.

after reading the siege of terra alot of things line up and make sense, even a part of Guillamins story recall of when he reunited with the Emperor and there interaction and how Guillamin was put off by it, he doesn't know what the Emperor or had to do to defeat Horus. The Emperor is a cold calculating god of wrath at this point and will reap his revenge upon all those who harmed humanity.

I've been wondering, if people's thoughts and desires are able to create gods, after a while. Could there be two emperors? One that was created by the people praying to "God Emperor" that now resides in the warp and then there is the entity on the throne, burning in the psychic fire.

Question, is it possible that the Big E could have been saving up the energy of every psyker that was sacrificed over the past 10K years?
Perhaps the Emperor needed to first build the primarchs and the means to wage war and create the imperium. After that he knew he needed to then grow in power within the Warp. He understood that to fight the 4 chaos gods he needed power within their domain. While they expend there power trying to break out of the warp through their puppets the Emperor would launch the might of the entire imperium to burn up their forces. He in the mean time would then fight them within the warp. Would he target them one at a time, turn them on each other or take them all on at once?
If he manages to destroy the Chaos gods or at least scatters them to be nothing more than the average warp entity, will he then return to a physical form, remove psykers and rebuild his webway so that humanity will never again need to break the vail of the warp thus removing (reducing at least) the power and influence of the warp and those entities within it.
Then the bugs showed up and eat all the food in the office refrigerator.
I've read the entire Siege of Terra series, I don't remember Magnus being on the golden throne at all in it. Which book was that?

Big E shows him a vision of him on the Throne and it's sublime. He's controlling everything just fine and he's basically the key to humanity's future as he controls the Webway. Tzeentch comes in and shows him the same thing except his in agony on the Throne and screaming as his soul is sucked out of him like a battery

I think Corax is best for The Emperors needs now, with all the traitor primarchs reportedly abroad in the galaxy I think a Raven like monstrous Corax hunting them down with a fury few have known would allow Guilliman and The Lion the time they need to re-establish a connection across the great rift
I wonder if 10,000 years have actually passed for the Emperor, if he's even aware of the passage of time. It's said that he mostly exists in the warp, and there's no linear time there

So there a couple of problems here. But imho tge big one is that The End and the and the Death 3 shows The Big E didn't choose the golden throne. Malcador even explicitly calls the choice Dorn made a mistake
If Mankind launchs a new crusade, the Crusade of the Dead God across the galaxy, 40k sales will increase a lot.
Vengeance is all well and good, but Chaos is not an enemy that can be meaningfully punished.

Angron, the battle powered rage beast himself...was a powerful healer and empath.
He was litterally born to be the...peace maker and noble paladin/war pries/cleric of the Primarchs.
And if he was allowed to grow on a decent world, the Horus Herresy would not only have never happened, the primarchs would probably never have fell to any form of chaos.
But a second golden age of human kind is not what the emperor wants. So he condemned who would have been his most trusted and beloved son to a hell greater then any other primarch, even the forbidden ones, will ever know.
In the warp, one can see small glimpses into alternate futures and if you stare from a point in the past alternate presents. He saw what could have been, he saw waht the emperor stole from him and that knowledge drives his rage and madness even further.
The Emperor willingly placed himself on the Throne yes. It was that or his death and the loss of Terra.

EMPEROR PROTECTS
40k is, obviously, very indebted to Arthurian mythology. Malcador is Merlin; Guilliman is Galahad; Mordred is represented by Horus and Magnus. The only glaring omissions are Lancelot and Guinevere. However, it doesn't seem like GW will ever actually reveal which one of them was the 2nd Primarch and which one was the 11th.

I know why Big E called Girly Boy traitor. It just hit me. He's right about Indominus too...The Emperor has talked about time, fate, the future ect...Like it's Ocean but he was clear that it was just an analogy. What do you know about quantum mechanics? What if the Emperor's time is like a wave on an ocean but more importantly. It's a wave at all phases. Imagine being behind a single line wave as run off beyond you towards a point. You would see it ungulating. It would just look like a circle with a line dividing it in half. Change the phase and the line turns like the hands on a clock face. Change phases & frequency enough & you change the channel....That new channel is running a different program. One where Girly Boy was the War Master. That's the Emperor's real secret. He's more interdimensional than even Tzench himself. He's only capable of navigating the possibilities of this Universe. Big E can move between all the possible wave functions. He is the uncertainty principle. When G man came into the throne room for their little chat. The Emperor is in a weakened state. He couldn't be still and in one Universe. His multiplicity was present at once. The Emperor said all that crazy shit and since the traitor thing didn't apply to this G Man. He ended up not remembering it until later. When he died (...again Gman is so great! Yea ok he's died TWICE) for the second time & got closer to the warp. Where all the Oceans of time share a shore. IDK

The Emperor was never able to release his anger when he almost became The Dark King. That didn't happen. So perhaps it's been simmering the whole time.

Yes, he is communicating for the first time in 10,000 years. He hasn't risen from the throne or healed his body of that's what you're thinking.
He's just finally got the power to actually communicate with people and give them instructions.
It's still difficult for him, as we saw in the case with the return of Lion El'Jonson and Guilliman.
He can communicate but it takes immense levels of power and he can't communicate clearly so he has to leave clues and hope his sons can make sense of them.
The Great Rift flooded the galaxy with Psychic energy. It was kind of like a defibrillator for The Emperor. It's also given him a huge power boost, like a properly massive power boost.
The Emperor is so powerful now that he is routinely intervening in battles across the Imperium, through his saints and The Legion of the Damned. Both of which have appeared quite regularly since his awakening.
He also burned the garden of Nurgle and actually wounded the Chaos god.

I have this feeling that Guilliman may become the new vessel for the Emperor.

I think the Emperor sees humanity's survival in a forever war. If chaos wins, it will devour all. If humanity wins, it will destroy itself and everything else for example through technology. But with the Emperor in the middle as a moderator, humanity will grow through struggle... for eternity for the Emperor is eternal. A god.
It just occurred to me. The Emperor is a perpetual. Why didn’t he begin to heal immediately after his battle with Horus was over, with Horus being dead and the Chaos gods withdrawn from the situation?
The Emperor would still have ascended the Golden Throne, but at least he could have done so more fully healed, instead of being the broken, near-dead corpse depicted in 40K canon.
He might have begun healing, BUT the drain from the throne has prevented him from healing anymore
I believe hes constantly healing. but the toll on his body on the golden throne kinda stunts the rate..... Emperor is in constant pain and tortured day and night.... the chaos gods are waiting for a single second for him to slip and theyll pour out and consume terra. he is in constant battle and pain. for 10000 years yikes
I dunno, if it is vengeance the Emperor wanted the era of the Scouring was a far better era for it when he still had 6 loyal sons, instead of just 2 and a divided and crippled empire. If he had to wait for 10 millennia maybe it had to be so he could stock up and juice himself psychically of trillions upon trillions of humans believing and DELETING in his name. Until he reached critical mass.
I can see big E, now god tier, and the ancient Eldary (not dark eldar) gods. The two main ones. The three of them plus the primarchs. Push chaos back into the eye of terror and shrink the eye so small. Big E can contain the eye(immaterium) in a void of black space within a black hole forever contained. And with no one to worship them they will wither out and die. The imagainary figures they are. Will fade away.
