1:18:57 I've been looking up info about the giant halflings, and apparently the units that have their size changed when spawned in have their health also adjusted, with bigger units having more health. It's probably why Hotdog Plink survived the axe

A little tip: the physics of the game changes when you enter slo-mo mode. Things tend to fling farther and do weird stuff, like being launched into the stratosphere by a Skyrim giant

At 1:07:30 when Spiff said 'tree srat', all of the spear people started yelling 'TREE STRAUGAHT' as well and for some reason I'm dying 🤣
Spiff’s ability to problem solve in the most ridiculous situations will never not be amazing
This has inspired me to actually look into the fighting mechanics of TABS, cuz I've made, at this point, hundreds of custom units and have discovered how certain mechanics work, like jumping, kicking, dodging and parrying. As well as how size affects defense.
I'm still testing how weight affects units and their weapons and how exactly the AI paths around.
Do you know how Armor works, like the barrel blunderbuss guy in the Pirate unit set?
@@furiouscorgi6614 It's really easy, anything that's NOT arrows keeps it's knockback but all projectile damage gets nullified, there's a piece for the head, the torso, upper and forearm, pelvis, and legs (i think in 4 pieces too). If you wanted to make a unit look bulletproof without bumping the HP to a hundred, you gotta use the barrel armor and up the weight to, like, 15. Tho you have to either access the files or install the UCN mod for accesibility, but once you implement it, it's enjoyable by anyone in the workshop.
It's really cool (and does have weak spots/spots that aren't covered like the face).
@@unkirbyjosuke1904 ah, I was wondering since I sometimes do 1v1s with my brother, and the barrel guy just seems to like, never die, despite taking fairly significant damage whenever it does lose HP
@@furiouscorgi6614 Cactus armor works the same way like the barrel armor. Nullifying all ranged damage. That hits the armor.
so, is it possible to create a custom unit that doesn't trip every few seconds?
i'm interested in making a custom unit you're supposed to control but it's hard to play around because you trip extremely often

For those who are curious about the banger of a peaceful song, spiff plays at 1:50:12 is known as "The Museum OST" from Boneworks so to spiff thanks for that
I'll be real, Spiff got me into playing TABS, and I think the one I stuck to the most was the Bard, due to its entire gimmick making it so enemies B-line towards you; so I just started trying to find the easiest way to get the mobs in various missions where I was allowed to use Bard to kill themselves. Overall I still used other units (Especially the secrets and legacy units after I got them), but Bard is my favourite unit in the game.
Two full hours?? What a great day when Spiff uploads.

It's refreshing to consume the content of someone who has a dedicated fan base and doesn't say mean shit. Lots of creators I used to watch this year have said shit I don't agree with and it's depressing to lose a part of your routine like that, I don't like supporting people who say things I don't agree with. Just glad you seem consistent is all.

I haven’t watched far enough yet to know if spiff figures it out in the video but the weird modifiers like hotdog and corn dog plink are intentional and it’s such a good part of the charm of this game

Beating this with halflings actually is probably really accurate for when the people choose to stand against the powerful who think they're winning. They got all this weaponry, yet we still out smart them.

I've watched this video about 12 different times. I play it when falling asleep. I can watch about 10 minutes before falling asleep, then the next day I watch the next 10 minutes before falling asleep. It's very nice and comforting
The core strength in that mammoth is insane.
It's got 4-wheel drive
It can lift it's entire body weight using only it's toes lol. It also has the body strength to keep it's body and hind legs upright while doing that.
The "You can't kill me if you kiull yourself" mentality throught this whole video had me laughing. I just found it funny how I just relate to this strat on a spritual level, can't wait to see more halfling only runs

Great video! Will always be down for TABS content. Tbh though I kind of enjoy challenges with other units that don't involve trying to kite enemies off ledges, I did some back when the game first released myself (clubber only/miner only where two I did in particular which were really fun). That said I did resort to off-ledge strats for some levels that felt impossible otherwise, but it was very enjoyable trying to use one singular unit to destroy whole armies using some skill (and a lot of hitting enemies from behind objects).
