My order came today and only took 3 days, spent all morning tying my rigs with these little fellas, Having a session at Hornsea on Wednesday to test my rigs so fingers crossed
Made a couple of these rigs up to use over last weekend, and was definitely not disappointed, they performed exactly as they should . Have always been a big fan of the Imps, and must admit to being a tad concerned that the clip on these seemed quite a bit stiffer in movement to the imps, but there really was no need for the concern, as they released every time, whether it was from as powerful a cast that I can do, or a gentle lob into the surf. I can't fault them, they do just what they were designed to do, and are the right money. A big thumbs up to Trident 👍👍👍

just stumbled over this, cracking review as usual. Gonna give them a try. Also been using gemini splashdowns for years and never had a problem other than clay and sand gumming them up but while out last weekend lost 4 leads in one session that had managed to unclip !!! One even came off mid cast which was kinda worrying. These were the new improved versions apparently (??!!!), the new ones are in the bin ! I'll keep my older versions but I'm not risking leads coming off mid cast !!! Orders going in today for some aero bits and also noticed the hangover on their site, I use up and overs quite a lot so gonna give them a spin as well. Thanks for the review !
well its all looking like its new to the market BUT as YOU said the best item on the market is the Gemini solo splashdown clip, its awesome, if you have problems with your sinker coming off then put a gemini 100lb swivel on the solo clip then use a gemini lead clip to attach your lead that way you will never lose a lead. the only thing that trident set up is doing is competing against the breakaway imp so I hope it does well against a well established company although I"ll be surprised if it does.
Looks like another if not better version of the breakaway imp. Also to stop losing leads of the Gemini solo clip is where you clip your lead first put a Gemini link clip there and then clip your lead to the link clip and you’ll find that’s job done and no more lead loss.
Hi Paul, re- lead loss with breakaway clips. I've noticed that the upper part of the lead clip can be tripped sideways leaving the lower hook exposed, thus, the lead pops off. Bummer.
My only worry with this new gear is adding swivels to the lot of them, would have been great to see the swivels been added at either end of them, but hey ho, will definitely be giving then a go soon

Really annoyed me today having posted these on Facebook after i made my rig up I had no end of abusive comments calling the tackle cheap plastic, way over priced, and won't last 1 cast really annoyed with what I read but keep the haters away I can't wait to get out and use these they look awesome thanks for the review too

Paul I got some of them but the 80lb I have did not work on the airropully it did not slide very well but I used 60lb worked much better on it they are the things on the market

Tried them, prefer my pulley beads, splashdowns and fastlinks tbh seemed to attract more weed and quite fiddly when wet and cold didn't find the termalinks accommodated clipping large sinker eyes or swivels easy either imho.
Hi paul. Great video and lovely hound. Couple of things. Can you OTG with the roto? Is the the Aero pulley free running enough as looping it round must create more friction? I agree I never liked the clips on breakaway proper pulley but dont bin them as I found you can replace with the far superior fast link. Just ordering some from trident to test. tried Tridents new tackle two issues not sure about firstly the pulley worried about the line rubbing against itself, secondly the roto wont accommodate two hooks for example a wishbone rig otherwise i think they are a great bit of kit
Ive ordered a pack of 1 each. Will be intersted to try and looking forward to the roto especially. My concern is the termilink. The breakaway fast links are simple, reliable and can add a swivel. There seems no way to add a swivel to the termi link. Perhaps there should be a termi link with a power swivel attached?

the roto holds your hook tight and on impact to the water it will release the hook and bait so it can float away from your main fishing line, the areo pully is new pully system and the termalink can be used for attaching trace to your main line and to attach the roto to.

just got my hands on some to try and was a pain to get the 60ib amnesia ive used for 25 years as a rig body through the terminal kit tryed the pully with a lead on the rig i made and it was like a slomotion drop wasnta great first impression ill give um a test in the water see how it works
it recommends on trident site that if u want free running pulley (didnt know there was any other sort) U have to use low diameter line , like Yuki or teklon ,, slip up I think ,,maybe Mk2 will sort this out?
@@peterelliott1462 theres a huge difference between this and a pully bead for me atm I don't see why I should change what I've been using for years for one component will test it during the week and see how it reacts in the water was hoping to do some pully droppers but I'll pass till I tested it as a pully

I like the look of these, only thing that would put me off, you can't tie up a rig with the roto without attaching the lead first,youd need to use a clip.

I ordered start month , it says on web site 10 days lead time ,, they were bang on ,, received ,no bother .Few packets of each to avail free post ,havnt had chance to try out yet but look ok . my only concern is the pulley , u need thinner dia line for free running rig but It does explain this on website .

That's exactly what I do as I hate those double ended clips that come with the Proper Pulleys.

Only issue i had was terma links when you snap 1 off it leaves a sharp edge on top can just cut off with scissors but that's my only negative
