This Foos song is so underrated. The three-chord guitar pop hook is amazing. I am 54 years old, and I think the Foo Fighters are my favorite group. Not trying to be young, I just feel what he is trying to do. Grohl gets it on SOOO many levels! He LIVES for and in rock heritage, but still cuts a new path. It doesn't get any better than that, kids.
It's definitely one of, if not the best Foos song imo. Never gets old.

took me 10 years to find this song. I used to see in on television when I was just around 10 years old and then back when I was 20 I was searching for this memorie all over the internet. So glad the day I found this again. Music is such a great connector. Thank you for this.
My case is exactly yours. As a child (when I was about 8 or 9 years old) I saw that music video on television and the final scene stuck in my mind. It was until now, when I was 21, that I wanted to look for this song, but couldn't find it. After I found out that the song Breakout (also by Foo Fighters) was on "Me, Myself And Irene"; I looked for him to listen to it, I start looking for more of his songs and it happens that I come across this one, which I had seen in my childhood, it is just how I remembered it :')
In 2009, when I was 14, this clip used to air a lot on cartoon network in Brazil. At the time, I was facing my first real bout against depression. I had lost a grandmother in 2008 and a grandfather and an uncle in 2009. My parents were devastated and I used to feel totally empty. There wasn't really home, just a mess. School sucked and my antidepressants weren't really helping. I remember this song actually ignited in me the will to pursue a childhood dream. I had always wanted to be a musician but had never tried to actually learn music. Well, 2009 was the year I was going to change that. I picked up a guitar, got myself a teacher and spent years discovering myself as a musician. Fast forward to 2022 and a frustrated and stagnated 27 years old me realizes he had indeed found himself with music, thirteen years ago. Sometimes a "safe" job might not bring you any sense of safety at all. I have to thank the Foo Fighters for Long Road to Ruin. Ironic as it is, this song actually took me out of said road twice

Well done Dave grohl. This is song structure perfection and this is probably one of his best songwriting efforts. Every bit as good as anything from the Beatles or any timeless classic song

Just saw them live at the Slane Festival in Ireland. They were fuckin stunning. Never saw 70,000 people go so wild for 2hours plus before. Amazing.

But thats not what I remember the night for, looking back on it all I remember is their utterly breathtaking performance.
I saw them live too but in England at the stadium of light I think there was 40,000 people there when I went and it lasted for hours but was completely worth it to see them and all the people there
