- This is my tribute to The Doors "Love Me Two Times" played on my Gibson G101 organ and gold sparkle Fender Rhodes Piano Bass. This version of Love Me Two Times is from The Doors 9-19-68 Danish TV Special. I chose this since the album version has a bass player and harpsichord.
There's a little bonus footage of me jamming on "Baby Please Don't Go" which The Doors played around with in 1970 during "Love Me Two Times" (Bakersfield & Honolulu).

Sweet, thanks for that info. I have a 301H and have wondered wether a 301E was worth my time given that WTMO is my favorite song and I want that EXACT same tone. So I guess the American Connie is that early Doors tone, but I believe Ray used a 301H on PBS special, I have the video and I've paused to see the clear wood shade in between the keys. Btw you should cover WTMO. :)

Congrats on having a 301H. From what I understand they're the rarest of all the models with one site saying maybe less than a thousand were made and how many of those survived almost 50 years? Also, I think you're right - I looked at some pics of the PBS show and I see the leg braces come together in an upside down V, not the X that a 301E makes.

Hi Thomas, I don't think there are official play along versions. On UA-cam some people have taken the surround sound versions of the songs and either isolated certain tracks or taken certain instruments out which may help. Try searching "Doors isolated tracks." Good luck!

I'm itching to know...was the Vox 301h used on "When the music's over" or was it the 301E??
99% sure Ray used the Vox 301H "California" model for the first two albums (which would include WTMO) and for most concerts during that time period. That's what most accounts and photos seem to point to. At some point that model must have had some problems because in 1969 he bought or possibly rented the Vox 301E to use when not playing the Gibson G101 organ. The 301E can be seen in the PBS Critique TV program and heard on the Aquarius shows. I think it's also that model in the studio for Morrison Hotel and LA Woman. There was recently a Vox on Ebay which the owner claimed was a Doors used 301E. Maybe it's the one used in '69 and after but he doesn't offer up much in the way of proof.
I have a few pictures of Ray using an Italian continental by the time they were recording Strange Days. It's impossible to know for sure. Hey Chris I think you posted on my old thread for gold piano basses on the ep board. We should talk gear sometime.

+Chris Nicini Absolutely beautiful! Please do a live LMF one! Plenty of studio ones on YT, but I don't see many lives ones, especially ones this well filmed. Long Beach and 4th NY Felt Forum show solos are my personal favorites. ;)
+Chris Nicini Agreed, the quality is not the best. But, the Danbury solo is another great one and not one I can recall Manzarek repeating. If you do a live one, I'm sure it will turn out excellent, regardless of which show you choose.

+Chris Nicini I would definitely love to see either take, although it would be interesting to see a studio cover because you seem to have a V301H, which has been said to be the very continental light my fire was recorded with. And because you record with an overhead view.

I'm not sure what you're asking - I don't think I have my isolated keyboard tracks anymore. Even if I did I made a mistake in the song by using an Em7 instead of an E7#9. If you're looking for The Doors live version it can be found on The Doors in Concert or in the video The Doors live in Copenhagen.
