We're playing a cover to "Light My Fire" Solos by The Doors,
Dedicated to the great Ray Manzarek - The Doors Keyboard player.
Ray Left us on 20.5.2013, this is our small tribute to him.
The Guitar Solo is played by my brother, Yoav, on a Red Cherry Epiphone Casino Electric Guitar.
I play the Keyboard Solo on an old Organ, and the bass part on Fender Piano Rhodes.
I also did all the Mixing & Video editing.
The Sound was recorded separately for quality reasons...

I have to be honest, the sound you hear is a Vox Continental VSTi (Virtual Instrument)
The organ you see in the video sounded very different.

The doors crankcase scavenged 2 stroke diesel or DFI, Jim was a serios 2 stroke engineer and he is why we have the 850 rotax etec today, but the fun dont stop here Jim designed his own crankcase scavenged 890 cubic inch in line 6 2 stroke diesel with much more power than my 8v92 turbo blown 2 stroke at 475 hp, jims 2 stroke was over 1250 hp at low rpm, rotas, achates power and Fairbanks Morse be aware! Its the riders of the storm loop scavenged 2 stroke that made a lot of power below 3200 rpm!
@@NadavMerom That isn't an Electric Organ, it's a Pipe organ that sounds like an Electric organ probably because of kind the pipes that it has.
Well Jim improved the 2 stroke and made himself an ETEC 600 CID 2 stroke monster in in his truck

That is one wild organ (though to you it's probably something traditional)... just to note, back in the '60's the guitar solo was the first time (in rock) that the listener could visualize the band jammin' on stage live (going on personal experience) which led to more instrumental rock, more long solo's, and more virtuoso's (called 'progressive rock') which of course became abused by commercialism and died a slow, ugly death (not to end on a bad note)...

the first few notes of both guitar and organ to Light my Fire were what got me into music at the tender age of 17 in 1981. i had never heard anything so unique, spirital and special ever and since. Ray Jim RIP. these covers are exceptional and am so envious. i have tried so often over decades to perfect this. i never came close.

Ray Manzarek was one of the best keyboardist in modern music. His playing set apart the Doors from anything else that was sounding in those years. And, boy, what a good speaker he was too. I bet people would have paid to sit for hours hearing him talking about the days and playing the songs 🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻

One you improved on is at 3:49. Robbie does a variation of this lick in many live versions. In the studio version, there's some fret buzz or something that makes it a little less graceful.
