    You guy's are a good team together explaining the fpv goggle using step by step and easy to understand you guy's. Your video showing how to take it slow really helped, and I think it could help me learn how to fly towards me which would be exciting because my orientation just won't allow me to do that. Glad I watched this good video. I recently build a quadcopter, and took it for a fly yesterday and crashed it about four times, only from a low height no more than 10ft. It is so different flying acro compared with a DJI with full stability. I was thinking it was my quad, but this vid has shown me its not, its me, I need to learn to fly this beast!!! The part about disarming the quad in flight I think is the most important point in the video.

    • @BlueOvals24

      @@123457chevy I'd suggest getting a flight simulator like Velocidrone on your computer and plugging in your transmitter so you can get a good feel for flying without destroying your Tinyhawk. I didn't practice enough on the simulator and ended up having a hard landing after doing a flip and it seemed to either damage my flight controller or esc's. If you really don't want to use the simulator, try starting in FPV. A lot of the professionals say to start with LOS, but when I tried that I crashed immediately just like you. Then I tried in FPV and found it way easier to stabilize the copter. And if you haven't already, configure it using BetaFlight Configurator so you can calibrate it and tweak some settings. And start of in stability mode so you don't accidentally over correct and flip yourself into a wall.

      There's a group of guys that go to Dorothea Dix almost every weekend. Unfortunately the big field is very busy these days. We used to have the place to ourselves for the most part, but since COVID the park has gotten a lot more popular with picnicers/dog walkers. There are a few side areas where we're less likely to run into people. One of the places is behind the fenced in dog park where they dump a bunch of trash/storm debris. If I know of anyone heading out there, I'll try to comment here and let you know.

      @@EdRickerVlogs Quick update. Went in and did a (more) than a few tweaks to the TinyHawk RTF version. It seem to fly worse so in BetaFlight I saw a 'reset' to original or what I thought would be 'factory' settings but it turns out it wipes ALL the your factory settings in place of...so now I have to start out from the beginning/find the settings 'dump' file, maybe even 'flash' the firmware (not sure if that's necessary) just to start to get back to the beginning. Geez! Learned a lesson there. Email Emax and hopefully they'll get back to me with the appropriate 'dump' file and (thinking optimistically)...a step-by-step procedure to get back to RTF version factory specs. When you point the right stick up, does the drone start moving up?
    I'm struggling to understand, I used a simulator where the control is such that if I point the right stick up, the drone goes up .... but when I started using the DJI FPV simulator, the controls are inverted ...

    • @EdRickerVlogs
      @EdRickerVlogs  2 роки тому +1

      Sounds like you're bouncing back and forth between Mode 1 and Mode 2. Mode 2 is the standard in the USA with throttle (move up) on the left stick, not the right.
      At this point you need to decide which one you like better, and start getting consistent. I will say, in terms of buying and setting up most drones, getting accustomed to Mode 2 will make things a lot easier for you in the long run. Most drones/controllers you come across will be in Mode 2 already.

    Watched this video multiple times. Coming from a Mavic, this is a whole different story. Started with my Tinyhawk and moved to a wizard x220s. It's easy to want to start doing flips and stalls right away, which is what I did and wound up breaking stuff on the wizard, but that's how you learn to fix your quad and take it easy. Rome wasn't built in a day so just have fun.
    Also, get a sim. My graphics card isn't the best but freerider will give you all you need and it isn't a graphics hog. If I hadn't tried a sim first I would have had much more to fix.

    Hi. I got a controller recently to practice on simulators. I was wondering whether the gimbal on the right should also be loose like the gimbal on the left (throttle). Thanks!

      Nope, the throttle needs to be loose but not the other gimbal

    Years ago I flew RC airplanes. It looks like the FPV controls & flight is similar to that, opposed to my DJI P4P controls & flight. Does the flight orientation get confusing for FPV vs your photographic drones?

    • @EdRickerVlogs
      @EdRickerVlogs  6 років тому

      Hi Chris,
      The flight styles are so different that the controls don't really get confused from FPV to DJI. Occasionally it'll feel a little odd if I haven't flown DJI in a while, but generally it's not a difficult transition. I also hold the thumbsticks a bit different for DJI controllers. I use strictly thumbs with DJI while I use a bit of my index finger for FPV.

    Hey there, I just got a firefly 1s nano baby as my first fun quad. A weird thing I am discoloring is that if I hold the throttle the quad will go back down to earth.. I have to constantly give some throttle and release to hold it on a certain altitude. Does anyone may know a nice setting to fix this in betaflight? :/

    I dont agree on the flight modes part. I have been doing this hobby for 5 years and my biggest mistake was starting to fly in modes. It doesnt give the proper feel and when u go acro mode u need to relearn ur feel and fly. For the rest it was a good tuturial for beginners...

      Haha I just don't really get it! I got it a bit with the DJI Goggles actually....I guess because the field of view is so much wider. FatShark goggles have a narrower FOV if I recall, just doesn't really mess with me. Sitting may help too if it affects you.

      FPV drones aren't designed or intended to hover and take pictures unfortunately. You're probably looking for a Mavic style drone to do that type of thing and not an FPV drone.

      I would recommend you getting " radiomaster tx16s" as your controller, as for goggles it depends on your budget, for less than 100 you can get the ev800d, an in the 300 range you can choose from skyzone 02c, 02x or 03O ranked from cheapest to best. For top of the line you can get fatshark hdo2's with a rapidfire module but that'll be 600+ bucks.
      Watch some reviews and you'll find what fits your needs.

      It's the BLHeli ESC firmware bootup sequence. The vast majority of ESCs use that firmware type. You can flash something lesser known such as JESC firmware and it'll have a different sound. You can even program your own startup sounds/music if you use BLHeli_32 firmware.
