Yukon Gear and Axle mini spool: YP MINSGM8.5-30 Fel-Pro differential cover gasket: RDS55028-1 Filled with Lucas heavy duty high performance gear oil SAE 85w-140
It's not so bad and I like the attention from people looking and wondering why the tires are chirping but it is hard on the truck I've developed a few clunks in the front end
Happens when you daily with a spool or welded up, Also wears out the front tires a bit quicker. Anything fully locked up doesn't like turning and will try to keep pushing straight. Any front end clunks you developed is from extra stress wearing out the tie-rod ends and the ball joints. Happened with both of my C1500's lol.
Pretty sure that engine is a tbi setup it would be a 305 L03 engine. I have the same in my 93 caprice and I've installed a after market intake manifold, tbi spacer, automatic shift kit in my 700r4. I also havent put in my mini spool after all those upgrades. I did install it before that but I hated the chirp on the tired but I'm planning on putting it back in anyway cause it will be better all around
I do have the 305 in my truck. Why do you keep thinking you know everything about my truck? You think you know about the clunks you think you know about the engine. Maybe you should be called The Wizard
I also have a slow 7.5 diff with 26 spline 2.56 gears but I was able to use the shims when I installed mine and i have the same exact brand of mini spool you do 🤷♂️. Maybe my shims worked with the spool because my gears and splines were smaller???? I dono
I found out my 30-spline diff spool is for an 8.5” carrier, and the carrier on my truck is an 8.6”, I also found out unfortunately most folks don’t make 30-spline diff spools for 8.6” carriers🙄 You have to either get an 8.6” case to go with that spool or have that spool shaved down.
Instead of no traction on one side you won't have traction on either side. So be extra careful in inclement weather. Hence the original design was not a flaw.
Your "DUH guys" moment @13:50 is EXACTLY why i am watching. Thanks for the video
Good songs in the background 👍🏻

Perfect video thanks man 👍
Did you leave out a part of your differential then to make it fit? 🤔

Nope, not the same engine.

@@GibsonGarage Not the same engine

How do you like its driving characteristics now?
Well done , but thinking will this suit an all wheel drive 4x4 with traction control ?
I wouldn't suggest it I would get something more appropriate that still allows limited-slip
can you used those on your everyday truck?
Absolutely people do it all the time but you're going to go through tires quick
Did anyone else get the correct splines but they were too big to fit in the case? Or maybe I’m just not doing something right?
There are different 10 bolts. car is different from truck and year probably makes a diff too. sorry dont have all the info

Any part numbers?

Fail on the gear oil. 75W-90 bud. Not 140. 👎🏽👎🏽
The factory suburban that came with the limited slip diff calls for that oil for the clutch packs
@@GibsonGarage Wrong
You know, I don't like you, but you did bring the gear oil to my attention so I thank you for that. Everybody's saying 80 90.
@@GibsonGarage Keep melting snowflake ❄️😂
