But let's be real, letting someone make more music for you is in the long term more beneficial.
Like imagine instead of 2 or 3 more xxx, juice world, pop smoke albums we got 10 more. It would make more money for the labels then using them when dead.
Alive artists also help social media engagement which helps sell albums and build Hype.
It makes no sense to want an artist dead unless they're like Michael Jackson and about to retire anyways.

My hot take: the interview & social media content and beef serves to distract the people from creating alternatives to the industry as it is currently set up. There's always going to be talented musicians, and there will always be the need to make a living. Are we really so powerless to the music industry, or do we just not wanna get up off of bitching on our phones?

The premiums on those policies would be so astronomical on the chance your artist gets killed. The returns wouldn't be worth the risk, theyll just pimp the artists music and legacy.

The dangerous lifestyle of a rapper is what sells. Labels might hype that aspect up, since there's nothing they can do to stop the rapper. However, once the rapper dies, labels are going to try to ride the hype to make more money by releasing pre-recorded and unfinished tracks and verses. It's not like they wish death for these rappers, it's their own fault and the labels are just making something out of a sad situation.
Might as well make some money for the artists' families, since they're no longer going to be in the picture to provide.

Here’s the thing these young rappers mostly see dollar signs they’re instantly hooked they think of the glitz and glamour and not one time do they see the evil of it that’s when that black cloud come into to play now I will also say this these labels will go for the artist with the substance problems it’s more money

@@shida5320 not at all, especially from a money/business standpoint I would take out the big fish if you know at all how publishing and masters work they not making no money off no pop smoke nipsey king von. Especially xxx because he partially owned his masters and publishing and was a huge act only getting more popular he would've reached the weekend/drake status. Nip owned his masters and publishing 100% Pop was going to save the east coast and become the next 50 cent doesn't make sense to steal 2 albums and his streams aren't enough like xxxs to be making alot of money on. So when someone says it's a moneygrab it technically makes zero sense if mentioned artist were alive they'd make way more than relying on streams from touring merch and whatever else was in the contracts. And they life insurance policies let's say is half whatever they got wouldn't make up for what they could've made off an artist. And my main point is it's guys with multiple hit songs featured in movies and TV shows sell out arenas that are worth way more

One detail about Kurt Cobain’s death that I always found weird that no one really talks about is the electrical technician’s statement, he said that when he saw Kurt’s body, he thought he was just sleeping which is why he didn’t alert the police….. if someone blew their brains out with a shotgun…. How tf does it look like they were sleeping????
