Izzy Nobre you should check out the handheld system PAP k3 plus. It plays a lot of retro games preinstalled. Including gba, snes, md, nes, gbc, sms, gg, gb, and some arcade games!
My sister bought my dad a Gameboy money box, The screen part has the picture thing where if you move, then it looks like it's moving (and it's a Mario game.)
REVO K101 just put out another version. It looks like the famicom. I call it the Famiclone lol. It’s for USD 75.99$ on there website. Still have tv out which is my favorite feature.
Nice overview video of four devices. How about comparing the Retro Mini (by the makers of the RS-97) to the Retro FC? And comparing the DIGI Retroboy to both the REVO K101 and the RS-97?
I've got the Revo K101+, myself, and while it's good enough, I'm not 100% happy with it. I finished The Minish Cap, and both GBA Metroid games on it, so I definitely put in the hours to form a solid opinion. The shoulder buttons are a big losing point, for the reason you stated. They're wobbly and loose. I found the face buttons and D-pad to be a little too mushy for my tastes, too. No definite point of articulation where they buckle in. The screen looks okay, at first, but the resolution doesn't match. That means scaling. Unfortunately, it's not an integer multiple of the GBA screen, so the scaling results in lumpy, uneven pixel widths. It's particularly obvious when looking at text in game. The emulation is generally okay, but I have noticed some issues. There is some egregious slowdown in Metroid Zero Mission, in rooms full of those tiny bugs that stick to you, and in Metroid Fusion, the fight with Nightmare (although that's got so many distortion effects, I'm not sure the original hardware can handle that without slowdown). In Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow, the entire map screen flashes rather than just the room you're in, and in Advance Wars, captured cities stretch to fill the entire screen on the capture screen, though I think there has been a firmware update to cover these two bugs. Gameboy and Gameboy Color emulation actually happens within the GBA mode, using the Goomba emulator. It runs okay, has a variety of options to tweak, but the viewing area is VERY small. Long story short, if you want a GBA clone, it works, but it has some imperfections. If you're a handy person, it's worth the extra money to get a Freeplay CM3 kit, a kit to put a Raspberry Pi Compute Module inside a GBA shell. I hate to sound like I'm saying "just run Retropie!", but if you're after a GBA form factor, and a broader selection of emulation options (or even JUST GBA), this is a much better solution.
really? a friend of mine has one and he ran into almost zero issues with it. Are you sure its a revok101 and not one of the fake emulation devices that use the same shell?
@@shadeymcbones6707 I am 100% sure it's the genuine one, since I bought it direct from their website. The cheap clones emulate more consoles, but do so poorly.

The chartridge doesn't stick out from the GBA slot of the DS (like regulars GBA chartridges) because the chartridge itself have an *interchangable upper part that is nearly identical to the DS dust cover chartridge. * One common base and two upper parts, one fit all the standard GBA's slot's, and a second one that make the chartridge perfectly fit (without sticking out) the GBA slot of the DS.
bittboy recently bought a new updated version, without built in games but a working sd slot, for gb, gbc and nes games.... seems to be working fantastic. Edit: you mentioned it in your vid allready... sorry!
I love the idea of hardware clones. I wonder if something like a PSP clone would be possible. It would be amazing to see some sort of PSP Go clone for example, but one that attempts to improve the original by doing things like including a dock, or making it possible to use two controllers at once. If someone was actually able to make something like that, they'd probably be making a lot of money off it. I know I'd pay
Probably won't be for a decade or two, to be honest. I feel like since these consoles (NES, SNES, GB/C/A) were all released almost 20+ years ago, there's an added nostalgia to them that makes them appealing - not to mention that hundreds of ROMs are readily available AND their hardware isn't challenging to emulate on modern hardware. Most importantly I'd be surprised if companies started pushing hardware clones for consoles that have more or less just recently been shuffled off the market or are even still able to be bought in stores. Sony'd see their pants off! That's all of course if you meant PSP/Go clones before, say, 2035 :D

I know of the GB boy color due to my hunts on how to bring those ancient titles to modern gaming with color and backlight, but I am one of those who prefer to use a backlight mod, yes it is expensive but way better. The problem is that for the gameboy color, I don't see lcd manufacturing except for 160x128 displays but the gameboy color has a 160x144 display and the neogeo pocket color has a 160x152 display. I simply wish we can have a company out of all the electronics in shenzhen to make low price lcd displays for those systems. The black and white gameboy has it much easier with backlight, but the gameboy color has more difficulty. Then there is the super gameboy 1 and 2 with the second only available in Japan and need to ship from there if you order it from ebay and only the second has the port to allow you to trade your pokemon. Combined with a device such as the hyperkin supaboy or the retroduo portable, and you get an amazing experience playing the first and second generations of pokemon as well as many other titles. 3. This revok101+, aside from its own "everdrive" with nes and snes rom support, is very similar to the gameboy micro. Izzy, you are complaining about the L and R of the revok101+ when my gba sp R and L buttons simply don't work at all and are not very good at surviving long term ownership of the portable console. The best experience would be to mod an original gameboy advance with the ags101 display. It is good that the ags101 display is being manufactured by a third party and sells for about $45 each. I also have an sp that lost its frontlight, and would like to upgrade it to backlight with no luck. If you want it only for gameboy advance, the ds lite is another portable to play gba games. The revok101+ and the gameboy micro also have good lcd that can probably be used to mod the gameboy color to become backlit, but no one engineered such a solution as those displays are smaller than the ags101 display that for gameboy color requires a new case. 4. If only the revok101+ support gameboy and gameboy color but it does not. Hyperkin is making something too: ua-cam.com/video/kOKrfuEbv7E/v-deo.html not to mention that they are the ones who have the smartboy that lets you play with certain versions of samsung phones. 5. Since there is that demand, I just don't know why can't the electronics companies be able to build such things and we have to rely on portable mods to get systems such as the first 3 of nintendo's main line and portable line of systems to possibly work in a single device. Not too difficult for engineers, but not sure why it can't happen despite the demand.

@@eliezercardoso8009 I was going to say that but I have an original ds. The everdrive is a bit expensive.
A cfw N3ds is by far the best way. These days it is super easy to do.
@@LillyAnneC42 do you have One? I need to get my midnight purple one modded.
@@bustergundo516 Yes I do! I used a guide from the nintendo homebrew discord. discord.gg/C29hYvh
I love the knock off gameboys I’m not sure why but they’re just fascinating
Izzy, you gotta check out the Gameboy Zero. It's a retroPi, but also it has a bit more going on for itself.

So the GBA clone doesn't play GB and GBC games?
To me it looks more like a Gameboy Micro (just bigger) which wasn't able to play GB/GBC games as well.
@@notthegoatseguy I would much rather have a micro than that thing. I was considering it for a while too but it's pretty expensive now. The best form factor ever.
You're best bet for playable portable emulation is a good android device and solid controller. Switch will probably take over that in a few years. These emulation machines are a waste of money really.
@@Splozy Yea, I have a Moto with the Moto controller attachment and it's just amazing to play gba, snes, n64, and some psp games on
We urgently need a Game Gear clone that works with original cartridges. The original Game Gear display just isnt good anymore.
