I received mine about a month ago. Right off changed to 18 21'' wheels and proper tires. I trail ride. I have never owned an electric bike before but have been riding motorcycles for 48 years. I have to say this bike is a home run! So lite and easy to ride with plenty of power for trail riding. In sport mode. It will bite you if you are screwing around carelessly with the throttle. (I named mine killer bee after a couple of mishaps.lol) I love this bike! My only complaint is the stock wheel setup. I feel is a must to change the wheels if you are a dirtbiker going to electric. And while that angry torque is super freaking fun it does kind of run out just above mid speed. It isn't like a gas bike that has that powder all the way up, its just a little flat rolling at mid to high speed and you peg it. But like I said that low to mid speed torque puts an ear to ear smile on my face every time I ride it. It makes me feel like I am 13 again playing around in the woods with my little bike. Fun factor is 11! 450 exc for sale!!
I've ridden mountain bikes for over 30 years and have owned hundreds of mountain bikes. I never owned a motorcycle but I am going to buy this Ultra Bee. Coming from high performance mountain bikes I am worried about the suspension not being what I'm used to. Right now I ride a Specialized Turbo Levo Expert with Fox 38's and a Fox X2 Factory rear shock. Is the suspension platform on par with Fox? Does it have rebound and compression settings? Is it air suspension or just coil? I really don't know anything about motorcycles so I'm looking forward to learning more. This is a great video to get an idea of what these bikes are really like. I just wish I knew a dealer near me that let you demo these bikes.
Awesome vids, information and nice riding too👌 Q. What mode were you in for the terrain shown in this vid? And, do you switch modes 'on the fly' or do Surron intend for the rider to stop for that? Cheers, keep up the riding👌
You can switch on the fly, but until now, i only changed from sport to something else by mistake. Yes, ultra bee is very good, feels a lot better than light bee. The only downside is the additional 30+kg of weight, but its still manageable even at the 85kg it has
Went the Storminator and spent the time and $ on suspension and tyres rather than having to throw wheels etc on the Ultra . 175 kitted and taller than you I think , plus my 125s are full size . Use it bloody everywhere , especially MX environments but one does need to take a deep breath and suck up the fear . Thanks for putting me onto these beasties cause I'd never seen one in the flesh till this critter took up residence in me garage ...
You're speaking out of my soul with the wheel setup. 19/19 feels like a toy and the geometry doesn't quite fit. 21/18 and it feels so much more planted. Everything fits better, even the swing guard. The ASR lets you do half a wheelie. It feels like this bike was designed to have proper dirt bike wheels, but the financial department said "we have to cut on something". And it may be not a big deal in China to change the wheels, but do you have a clue how much pain I have to get a 21/18 street legal in my country! A legal set doesn't exist yet. Big shame on the else awesome bike. In fact, i haven't changed anything in 6 months except for the wheels.
@@electricisbetter currently I have a 54 t. I was thinking of going all the way up to 60 so that I could have more grunt on hill climbs and keep it in D mode. I'm mainly want to do this to see if it will increase my range. Do you think it'll make any difference to make it worth spending money on new chain and rear sprockets. Right now I get about 35 miles per charge so if I can gain 2.5 - 5 mi that would be worth it for me. I am running 21/18 and I'm hoping to get the range close to stock. Without upgrading the battery, 😋. Thanks for your advice
I’ll let you know when I get it mounted up. I ordered the 16in from woodys wheel works. It was about $800 just for the 16in rear but he makes the best wheels out there
Now that I am seeing the KTM Freeride for the same price as the ultra bee (KTM must be discontinuing them) which would you recommend in terms of power, range and handling? I am torn. Thanks!!
Are you still going to race the sting or is this taking its place? Also it's amazing to see the technology change. How much had you invested in your Terraria sting compared to the ultra bee?
@@electricisbetter love the videos and how you are making this new technology so attractive. Thanks for influencing me to buy my first Talaria stay last December and I have a wonderful summer on it riding singletrack in Colorado
How tall are you? I really wanna pull the trigger and get one. But I'm afraid I'm a little too tall. I'm 6 foot. Just wanna make sure that's not gonna be too small for me. Loving your One month reveal also I seen a lot of other ones. They take it for an hour. And then they tell you everything about it that's not how it goes
I don't quite understand your comment on the range. Riding like this (in a race, apparently) got you 38 miles on a stock battery. Riding the same style, in a similar race, in your 1st place vid, got you 36 miles on a 30% bigger battery. Please, enlighten me...
you said you are getting 40mi out of the stock battery? in what mode? Eco? If you are getting 40mi out of the stock battery in a race like this video, what class are you racing in?

Can't wait to hear what you think about the Varg in comparison.
its nice to have a video like showing off the bike but you know to each is own
Your UA-cam channel stands out as one of the finest when it comes to content about the Ultra Bee. Keep the content coming brother!
Great job on the video! Thanks for making it.

In sport mode. Usually don't switch around unless I'm trying to conserve battery

Thanks for the great video. Out of curiosity what size sprocket do you use on the back?
Usually 48t. Sometimes I switch to a 54t. Depending on the terrain

Great review. You said you rode a little on MX tracks. Can this bike do a non-racing VET track, clear a tabletop, and clear doubles without bottoming?
It could. Fast Ace are great shocks on the bike
Good review, I'd give you an A+ if you could spell brakes.
Nice video!!!
Rather than 18/21 set up, has anyone tried just changing the rear for a 16/100 and keeping the 19 on the front?
I’m going to be doing this. I just ordered a 16in rear

I had to thottle about how to spell brakes
Where did you buy it. I am a lot sceptic on sending that much money to a website I have never heard of.
Thanks for your help

Get some rox Risers 1.5" higher and 1" forward. Blemishes is 50% off. I'm also 6ft and these are game changer
Hey. Do you recommend the ultra bay? What do you say about Storm Bay?
do they make better batteries for this bike ? i need atleast 3 hours of riding in speeds like this and u say 2 thats just not enough at all for me :)
