100% I have 500 miles on my UB and I agree completely with your overview re:pros and cons. I also have the W9 wheelset and some other goodies but haven't sprung for power or battery upgrades. I typically get ~ 30 miles of range for the riding here in the Sierra. One other pro is that I've found the UB to be a great bike for trail work. It's lighter and simpler than a 250/300/350 and easy to ride with a lower seat height. Keep up the great content!
I love clearing trails with the Ultra Bee. You’re 100% right. I’d wait on power upgrades until Surron lets us know about the “race spec” kit they have coming out. Should be storm bee power on the ultra bee 😎
Good advice all around. My next bike will have better suspension even if I have to sacrifice weight. It's been a big con for me even though I love the bike. I upgraded the read spring to match my weight but the forks just chatter and skip too much - and forget about any type of mx riding.
Yeah, that's how I feel too, in the choppy stuff the front end is terrible.. Hoping the new suspension solves for that. I'll make a first ride/impression video once I get out on the trail with it.
Good coverage of my favorite bike. One can just ride in stock form. The beginning price is around 6K, where do you go from there is up to you. But that's part of the fun of it. They're highly customizable because of their popularity
Great videos. Talaria sting rider from Olympia with the 21/19 wheel set up. I have a dirt bike, but have really been enjoying what these bikes offer. You see way more animals with quiet bikes and everything is easier on a lighter bike.
Hell yeah! You're going to love it. I don't get down to Portland much but in the spring I want to ride a bunch of the trails in Gifford. Would be a good opportunity to ride!
I think electric bikes have enabled people to continue to ride, which is AWESOME. I have a few riding buddies that have gotten them because they don't have the strength to wrestle around a heavy bike anymore. Glad you haven't thrown in the towel yet!
It wouldn't be accurate since I am running a large rear sprocket for more torque for off road riding. The current 54T sprocket makes the bike top out around ~50mph. Prob would be closer to 70mph with the smaller stock sprocket.
I am 6"1' and the ride feels pretty normal, however I raised the bars but no pegs change yet. There is a guy with your exact height, he is 193cm (6"4'), and the bike looks a little bit small for him. You can check that here /watch?v=FpA-hzcFESY
High bend bars, Bar risers and lowering pegs combined will help. I’m 6’6” (my bike is the white one in the viddy.) it’ll still feel small but at the end of the day I still absolutely love mine!
6'4" 240 and the UB is a dream bike. You will not be disappointed. Rarely I wish it is full length but always it is my go to bike of choice. The power to weight is incredible.
By the time you upgrade the wheels, suspensio, controller and battery, maybe cheaper to go with the Stark Varg, as you said. Any comments on the Altis Sigma compared to the ULtra? Thanks!
I have not rode or sat on a Sigma but from what I've seen, it appears to be smaller than the Ultra Bee. I feel the UB size is just right to feel like a full sized dirt bike and be fully manageable off road. My initial thought would be the Sigma would feel a bit small for an adult and a Stark Varg would be a bit much for an average rider looking to tackle challenging woods terrain.
@@ScottSobers thank you! That’s a specific mount for an android based nav device/phone called the T665. If you are looking to use your personal phone then I’d reccomend getting a Peak Designs mount. They are sweeet!
@@zekd Peak design is the king, I have a phone mount for my Mountain Bike. Glad to see more and more people recommending them instead of the other popular brand 👀😂

What are your thoughts on the 2025 KTM Freeride? It's heavier than ultra but lighter than the varg. Wheels, battery, and suspension already sorted. If the price is right it may be a good option for an electric enduro.
Yeah I want the utra bee it looks butter then the altis in my opinion, you can put the torp 900 controller, so it has the same power as the altis and is the altis smaller than the ultra bee?
I saw your channel you post about stocks and bitcoin! I have 9 shares of Tesla stock, after Trump got in my stock been 📈📈📈it was like 250 now it’s at 400$ it’s grate!
I'm undecided between getting the Surron Ultra Bee and the new Talaria MX5 Pro, what would you recommend? More than anything I was thinking of the Surron because it is a little larger in size than the Talaria, it looks more like a classic motocross
I have a Light Bee which is closer to the Talaria and an Ultra Bee. The Light Bee is fine for street and mild trail but cannot do what an Ultra Bee can do in the woods. The Ultra Bee replaced my KTM 300 for hard enduro it is that good.
It depends on your budget and the kind of riding you want to do. I only do trail riding and my ultra bee is perfect for that. It only cost me $5,800 delivered to my door, with street legal equipment so that I can get it tagged.
That’s a good question, especially comparing an upgraded ultra bee to a Varg. I have not ridden a Varg but plan to get one very soon. My initial opinion is the ultra bee is a much lighter, smaller bike which makes it easier to manage in the harder off-road terrain for average riders. The Varg is focused more faster paced, mx tracks. For me it will be harder to ride in the woods with my skill level. Different tools for different jobs in my opinion. Thanks for the question!
I love that you're doing what I believe these bikes are meant for, short range, light to medium difficulty trails for a weekend.
On point, as ask always. Glad I've found your channel when I got my UB a year ago

hard to have a decent opinion/factual thoughts if its not even out yet. "Looks" cool. But the numbers don't look that good.
Imo should look into the dust moto instead

Varg is a pig for hard enduro. On the flip you wouldn't pick the UB for MX if you are bigger than a child.
This bike is absolutely not more expensive than a stark varg, it never has been. The varg is double the cost of an ultra bee
@@outdooradventures4278 It is with all the upgrades. At the time of recording this, the Stark Varg Mx was $10,990 USD.
