the cut and transitions between the riders at 6:29 🙌🏻 well done!!! and without loosing the tension, even better! Great production and really fun episode guys! The guys behind the camera need a huge shout out. Damn this was enjoyable to watch 🔥 Cheers from Norway 🇳🇴
I'm waiting for them to get to 99, who, according to "Get Smart" lore MUST be a female. Not enough exposure for female engineering/physics types that love motorcycles. A McDermott, or a younger Ami Houde, or a Megan Griffiths, or, better, a Jen Dunstan.
@@nathanielyoungman4454 If it's going to advance at this rate then in 10 to 20 years we will have real competitors to combustion vehicles, just have some patients, you will change your mind or you will have to change your mind.
I started riding motos after I spent $4k intended for new Zipp bicycle wheels on an old Yamaha WR250F. Top motorcycles are obviously more expensive than top bicycles, same goes for the cheap ones, but the difference is surprisingly small.
@41933 True, but legally not possible to increase the Groms power to match the electric one, which sucks and on top of that.... sadly, more people are annoyed by motorcycle riders with their loud machines, that's why the electric variant makes a good alternative to ride in the woods and not fearing someone hearing the bike and calling the cops or whatever.
At first I was afraid that 44 guy would be replacing Ryan. But damn was I proven wrong, he does a great from those episodes he's in. Plus this video with the two of them in, just a really fantastic watch. Keep it up guys
Ryan has said on the rezvilla podcast that he prefers writing/researching the videos and would rather have somebody else do the acting. They seem to be slowly moving in that direction by introducing the new guy as a costar. I suspect eventually he will be the main onscreen face we see.
It's actually a vertigo effect, combining dolly movement to zoom. Not really sure if he used digital or optical zoom. Either way, even if is nearly a century old technique, it's still hard to pull off this good
I think the only thing that's missed here is the fact that the DRZ will also ride you too the trail no sweat... If its a 30 minute blast down a highway, not sure there's any juice left in that Ultra Bee. So i also have to hage a pick up truck if I want to ride trails with one? Hence I only have a DRZ and it suits me for commuting, trails and the odd ADV tour. I think its going to be a while till battery tech supports the versatility that 90's and 2000's enduros provide.
So true. I myself am from an island and a gas enduro or on/off bike is the best vehicle. The loop of the island alone is about 170kms of mountain and country roads, there are trails that are 70 kms from my town, electric would be cool, but nowhere near as good for everyday use. I had an XT660R as long as i lived there and it was my only means of transport, an electric bike would never be able to do that
This! The limiter right now is battery energy density. As good as modern batteries are they’re still just OK. Anyone can carry a fuel bottle or pack and add an extra 30 or 40 or more miles of range to an ICE bike.
Man... I just love this content. I was a city boy, used to ride bikes and had a motorcycle for a while, but sold it to move to a small mountain community. The town in on the side of a mountain, and my wife does not drive. I bought us Electric kick scooters, and when hers died, I bought electric pedal bikes. They are legal to ride with no license, cost about 8 cents to charge to full, and can haul our plus sized frames uptown (literally) comfortably. Home trip is faster because gravity. Two kinds of people noticed us: the ones who laughed, and the ones who asked questions. The ones who asked questions got their own. There are a dozen or more pedal assist and e-scooter riders now. The ones who laughed don't laugh anymore. I prefer the scooter, it's just more fun to ride, but the bikes are faster due to pedaling, and they can haul more cargo. I'd love an electric motorcycle, but none of them have the range I'd need to take it out of town, and for in town use, I'm already set with what I have. Times change, and we adapt and grow to suit them. And here I am living in the future... sort of.
I'd watch FortNines video on why electric motorcycles are failing - it's very difficult to put a big enough battery in a motorcycle, without making it so big it identifies as a cruiser, which has even greater range requirements, which need a bigger battery, and so on, so it's just unrealistic.
Size and weight is why I ride a trials bike. It's 20lbs lighter than the Ultra bee, and it has proper wheels and tires, and it's still gas powered, so the range is good and easy to pack more. It also cost $8k.
Gotta admit that having a proper seat and ergonomics would be nice to trail riding though. I love my trials bike but I don't love how tired I get standing all the time.
@@otm646 Two hours? lol, easy. If it's very rough terrain, I start to hate myself after about 7-8 hours. I'd hate lugging a big heavy bike around in rough terrain a lot more. Mine has a seat, but it's basically useless, even on a paved road your ass will hurt if you use it very much.
@@otm646 Sure, our events are 4 hours and a ton of fun (granted, lots of stopping and walking sections). Our Sunday morning rides are 4 hours and a whole lot more stopping and talking, but a great time!
@@fprintf many seat/aux tank combos are available. I have a tank/seat combo for my beta rev 3. Basically extended the range, can sit down and still lighter than anything else for the price.
I’ve been watching Ryan and F9 for years now and have seen them grow. I must say they are the best produced, best hosted show on UA-cam. Without a doubt. They are for sure just going to get bigger and bigger. Awesome video again guys! Thank you!Ride safe!🤙
Fantastic video as usual. The point about keeping a dad bod a rad bod is truly understated. Ebikes will keep you fit, so every minute you ride them is like a minute spent at the gym, as long as you push it. A high end model might be $8K, but there are much cheaper models, and you can build your own in a few hours with a $300 used MTB and a $500-1000 kit. Sure, motorcycles can be pushed harder and go faster, but the opportunities to do so are incredibly limited. Meanwhile, you can go all out on an ebike, all the time. In the city, an ebike will get you anywhere within a 5km radius faster than any car or motorcycle. And it doesn't need insurance. And it doesn't need registration. And you can work on it in your living room. And you can store it in a closet. And you can ride on cycling paths. And you can take it wherever you want with a $150 car rack. And you can put it in a bag and fly it. The future is electric for sure. It also doesn't have registration plates and weighs less than 30kg.
When you really want to go offroad a 1500 usd mtb wont get you far. You will get mad at the wheels first and then at the rest if you really want to do the sport AAAnd if this is electric weeelp you will get mad very fast.
This is why I went with an ebike. I got mine used for $1400 and spent about $300 on upgrades and maintenance. Yes, I could have almost gotten an XR150L new or a used CRF125 for not much more. But I can ride the ebike on city paths for errands or for fun. It can fit in my car or on the bike carrier for driving to trailheads. It's slower than a dirtbike but can do all the same things. And if the battery dies I just pedal it. It weighs less than a dirtbike so I can do riskier lines and not worry about getting crushed by hot exhaust if I fall.
*club* foot? Because it wouldn’t fit? That’s what I got out of it. Funny yes, but these guys are very intelligent, which really leads me to believe them and buy the products they ‘Give the ok to’.
My friend bought a Surron. He also has a 500ktm and he is faster on the surron. But he’s also not a very good rider so I think the surron is way less intimidating than the ktm. I rode the surron and it’s not terrible, I won’t be trading in my husky for one but they do work. I thought a lot of the parts looked kinda cheap though, He bent the front wheel on its first ride. Be interesting to see how the bike holds up long term. He’s into it 9k after the wheel situation which is a lot compared to the price of a gas bike that has better suspension and likely way better parts availability
hmmm, food for thought. I'm a bit older now and dont rip my ktm 300 like I used to... I just enjoy being out on the trails. I think I would really need to ride it before swapping
@@Revy8 I'm a weekend-rider and funnily enough like riding a scooter more than a geared bike. Since on the broken roads and hilly region here in Maharashtra, India, I can concentrate on the road and the scenery more on a scooter. Plus I can't and don't need to go fast so can't use all the power of the geared bike.
I wanted to ask the same question. For 8K USD and maybe more in Europe. How long will it last mechanically and electrically? How easy is it to find parts and at what cost? I will hesitate to trust Chinese motorcycles and vehicles. Looking forward to see electric motorcycles from Japan though.
Enjoyable to watch. I'm a mountain biker myself and just enjoyed how this was all put together, especially the knocks against the eMTB. If I were to get into wanting a dirt bike for trails, the Ultra Bee looks to be a great option to consider, similar price, less maintenance (only question is reliability/serviceability of said motor), all while packing a whole lot of fun in a neat and tidy package (despite its range limitations).
@@444ranger444 Yes... but in the world of any moving parts, there is a wear and tare with a chance of premature failure. In the eMTB world, all brands such as Bosch, Yamaha, Shimano, etc have had some history of their motors failing in some fashion, and generally it seems the answer is replacement vs service/repair. So my note of "serviceability" wasn't so much how often you need to service it, but rather, can it be serviced/repaired vs requiring replacement. Loosely compare that to a gas engine, where an engine failure can be resolved by way of service/repair vs having to replace the entire engine.
@@444ranger444 I wish. Ive had some very expensive brushless cnc motors fail. Its the current that tends to kill them causing winding and magnet failures.
I absolutely love the Ultra bee, so much fun out in the woods, not to light and breakable as the Lightbee but not too heavy to throw around when getting stuck etc. Great Video! Cheers from Sweden!
I’m retired and live on a lake in northern Wisconsin, I plan on buying a dual sport, (woods trails all over from my door) but the Suring keeps popping up, which maybe wouldn’t be my best bet for longer distance woods trails that quite a few are Sandy, but what do you think about around the lake, campgrounds, beaches, little cottage roads, my pit bike track, etc? I think the Suring would open the door to play riding legal (maybe semi legal) instead of brappin around with a loud, heavy, plated bike? I don’t know what to do, but it’s starting to look like one of each would cover all the bases....
@@mikem9953 keep in mind you'd struggle to pack as much on the suron, as 20lb of kit on a 200lb bike feels a lot heavier than adding 20lb of kit to a 400lb bike, but for trails just outside your front door, I'd say go electric, just keep in mind, if you do go on bicycle/MTB trails, bring a shovel and fix them after you leave, as Ebikes are famous for leaving trails all torn up, ruining jumps, berms etc.
@@mikem9953 As you say if youre looking for range it wont be what youre looking for. But riding "around the lake, campgrounds, beaches, little cottage roads + some trails" is what its meant for in my opinion. Sometimes watching all these youtube channels can be a bit deceiving, cause ive noticed i get quite alot more range than most, and its because im not as fast or going wide open alot of the time wich is a big battery drainer. I´ve gone almost 60miles on one charge where as most channels claim they barely get 40. But it sounds like it fits what youre looking for. I do recommend buying a 18/21 wheel setup though, cause the 19/19 front end wants to slip away underneath you at times which i found pretty scary. I cant choose for you, but i can definitely recommend the Ultra Bee! Good luck in deciding!
Informative, entertaining, and funny, classic Ryan. The editing and music were also phenomenal, Fortnine has the production quality of a tv show, and we love it!
Very cool to see you get around to eMoto bikes. I've had a Talaria Sting MX-3 (direct competitor to the Surron) for two years now and have been watching your channel since about the same. I love how you included that segment about the modding community. There are a ton of neat things you can do that significantly improve performance on these machines. I don't know if electric is for everyone, but legislators need to get on creating sensible on road and off road laws surrounding these things, because I see a bright future for this class of vehicle.
They make a huge battery for the Ultra Bee costing $5500. We just ordered one to sell at our shop along with two more Rawrr Mantis's 72v's. A&M Moto Toys in Monument, Colorado. All of the electric stuff is a lot of fun, being quiet is what appeals to most people. If people don't hear you in the forest they have no clue. Ride them with respect on various trails and people give you the thumbs up.
If anything the game of horse at least shows how good of a rider Ryan is as he can do all those stunts on both bikes... And probably the Honda Rune too
There's something special about seeing familiar landmarks and features in these videos since fortnine moved out west. That hydro hill climb is good fun!
I was happy when I saw you published, but man was I happier when I realised it was about Surrons! The thing is these bikes are light, silent and powerful. I ride them on the trails and on the track, so much fun and efficiency. Add to that a near zero maintenance and you now the future is now 🎉
after owning an electric bike, then a surron and now a motorcycle: It just depends on what and where you can ride. All are great fun, e-mtb-s are awesome for big mountains where you can go up and downhill, surrons are amazing but the LB-s are too weak for a propper MX route without all the power mods. And then if you just want to be able to go to a city 200km away, just get a petrol bike. Have fun, be safe and dont destroy mtb trails ;)
I ride an Ultra Bee and that thing feels amazing. I never was fully satisfied with the Light Bee, regardless of tuning and upgrades unless you just replace everything including the frame. And Ultra isn't going to replace the KTM EXC for hard enduro or SX-F for motocross, but for everything but the gnarliest stuff it's just incredible.
Surron have a more powerful bike that's for the KTM, it's called the storm bee. And a 72v battery and bac4000 will let you go 60-70mph on a stock motor
@@Vercingetorixeur Storm Bee is more weight and less power than a KTM. It's not good enough for competition and less fun than a lighter Ultra on trails.
@@AndrewYakovenko storm bee is lighter than the freeride e-xc and has a higher top speed. Just saying there's something for everyone. Even talaria doin bits now.
Madly in love with the Ultra Bee. Two show stoppers 1) can't put a license plate on it 2) people store and charge e-bikes in their house / appt. or garage. Sometimes, batteries catch on fire. Hmmm. Excellent vid, thanks gentlemen, you are the best at what you do.
You absolutely can put plates on these things, people register and plate light bee's too all the time which is smaller than the Uktra. IC engines literally run on ultra-flamable chemicals known to cause cancer, and battery technology, while not perfect, is no riskier the safest gasoline powered vehicles. I guess it's the poison you want to pick 🤷♂️
44 wasn't trying very hard and we all know 300s are a better trail bike than a drz, i think the game of horse would have been a lot closer on a 300 too but no reverse would be a letter for sure. The Sur-Ron does look fun it might be my next bike, nothing wrong with having a 450, a 300 and a Sur-Ron they all have their place. Great Video! 🇨🇦

I'd really suggest either picking up a 16" wheel for the back and running 16" and 19" or 18" and 21". The stock wheels and tires aren't that great, but having a fat ass Dunlop MX33 on the back is night and day for trail traction.
I have and love all 3. I don't go out to my tool chest and pick a favorite, each one has a job. If you are going tribal on any of these, you are losing out on a lot of fun because of a nonsense principle.
That's is a luxury few can enjoy. In the 3rd world where I am even middle class csn only sometimes afford 1. Never 2. And most definitely not 3. I chose combustion and when I want to use manpower a good run in the mountain
I also own 2 of the 3. I’ve got a SURRON Storm Bee, ultra Bee and an e-MTB. Each has its sweet spot and I love them all but in different ways. I got a Chinese e-MTB from Dengfu but it has a lot of western components. So it was the cheapest of the bunch.
@@rhysvanwyk9367 all 3 combined cost less than all but the cheapest new cars. It's more attainable than one would think with financing. Especially for bikes that aren't the best option for your only transportation if you can only afford one. If you want them bad enough, it'll take priority. I rode the Caofen (Kay-Eff-Enn) at this year's ABR, and was blown away by how manoueverable, light, and quick it was. 57mph was the top speed I managed on the roads which, given the width of the tyres and the brakes, was more than fast enough. Absolute joy to ride, and blitzed past bigger, more powerful bikes and their more experienced riders. Love them.
Sick to see you guys noting the surrons, hopefully we start seeing some parts in stock for them soon like rims shocks and such. I've done a few mods to my light bee over the past year
This video make me feel so excited for the future of electric bikes, even if the range isnt what we need now in some places it can still fill relatively big sections of the market and open it to all new groups!😊
I love the electric bike content! The ultra us indeed amazing and seems to be really well tough out. My only grip would be long term reliability because lets face it... it's a chinnese bike. You should take a look at the electric motion escape R for enduro. The amount of grip you get is incomparable with anything really. Plus it as a similar geometry to a trials bike so you dont feel cramp on it. It's a lot more expensive for sure but you really do get what you pay for. Enjoy!
I have my surron for 3 years now, 16000km enduro, some DH, some jumps some races, chassis holds up very welle as does the motor, running 15kw on it. I'm really impressed by the sturdiness of this bike considering what she eats
The chassis are ok. It's every thing else that fails. At least on the light bee. Brakes dont even last a full ride where we ride. Suspension is terrible and difficult to find replacement parts because there are several different ones. The Jack shaft is a terrible concept prone to failure. The wheels become all loose prematurely . The neck bearing fails so fast that it ovalised the neck. And dont start me on all the stupid sensors! I mean if you change all these things yeah it makes a ok bike but you will have spent the same amount of money that a better tough out stock bike like the electric motion or a stark varg costs. At the end you still have a chinese bike that worths half of what you spent on it. @@surronzak8154
chinese doesnt necessarily mean badly made, especially in the electric vehicle space, theyre pretty much dominate everything electric vehicle except the car
@@Epig420 The battery and motors are actually pretty good it's all the rest that is poor quality. The wheels brakes the sensors and every single bearing does not last very long. I speak of experience.
Had a light bee for a year and upgraded to an Ultra. The quality, power and suspension difference is huge. Definitely the better route than modding a light bee.
Those are sensible things though, if you sit at work etc it is disadvantage for motorcycles - you also sit. Sure its demanding but riding a bike really helps to keep your health and stamina in check Also - your comment was stolen by bot
@@cyjanek7818 Absolutely. Getting that heart rate up, even on an ebike, will pay a lot of dividends. The point about not paying insurance/registration is also extremely valid. I've owned both and tracked expenses for each. Registration was by far the largest expense on the motorcycle, even higher than devaluation and gas. And of course being able to use both roads _and_ cycling paths is a massive plus. As far as I'm aware, legally used Surrons are limited to roads and can't even access highway systems. Depending on where you live, you might even be able to cross intersections on both car and pedestrian signals, which significantly shortens trips. An electric dirt bike might be fun if you really enjoy going fast in the woods, but it's nowhere near the sensibility and flexibility of an ebike.
I do not write this comment lightly, but every video on this channel is incredible, and the current trajectory of somehow INCREASING QUALITY absolutely crushed my expectations! Thank you so much for deciding to channel the team's considerable collective talent into creating visual media on, of all things, MOTOCYCLES! Thanks again and keep expanding the molten diamond vein of content you have opened. God bless the moose fools.
It would be fun. But I’m still taking my drz400. About two decades of production and it’s easy to put a kick start backup kit on it. And they last a long time. A good used one can be had for about $3500 with low miles.
Am I the only one that thinks putting the 12 year old motorcycle against a new surron was unfair. Like I think a 2023 klx300 or yz230 would had been a better comparison or even an actual dirtbike.
How much is a brand new Honda CRF? 4-5k? And a surron is 8k? The Honda is faster cheaper and has significantly further range. I don’t see how he could possibly say that dollar for dollar electric wins??
The biking dude is not #44, but we should give him a chance. He may even grow on us at some point. And if it helps the channel churn more high-quality content, then it will be alright.
I have the direct competitor to this SurRon, an AdmitJet Armor. Similar 12kw power level, but much cheaper AND it has a 4-speed gearbox with a real clutch. I'm throwing a Tusk light kit on it and road registering it soon.
Surron = max range of 90 miles at 25 mph, which is impressive. (4 hour charge time) But a modern dual sport can do 170 miles per tank at 80 mph, (55mpg) all day, no charging required. When it comes to range, gas is king.
They could have chosen a trial bike. 70kg (150 Pounds) of weight, less than 1 liter of gasoline per hour (0,26 gallon), can go over any obstacle, it is possible to have a license plate. But I guess the idea was to make an exaggerated comparison.
They chose the worst bike possible, imagine this but with a lightweight KTM. Kinda typical of fortnine now, they skew the test to get the results they wanted.
@@user-pq4by2rq9y yeah but that's obviously still more expensive than just having a motorcycle; currently I can't really justify purchasing either of them *yet*

I have the Ultra Bee, KTM 300, Electric Motion Escape R, Alta MX-R and Stark Varg on order. All of the bikes are for sale except for the Ultra Bee. If you like your single track technical and tough, the Ultra Bee is the Bee's Knees.
I wished electric motorcross become mainstream. It make so much sense, great torque, not required for long distance, durable. It's perfect for a electrified 2 wheeler fun.
I get where you're coming from and I do agree it would be cool if it got a larger fan base and backing but nothing in my mind will replace the sound of a 2 stroke or even 4 stroke bike. Especially when there's 15+ racing.
There is only one bike right now that can keep up with a 125-240 class and 250-450 class and that is the Starg Varge. 4 stroke motocross bikes are much faster than the ultra bee. Factory race bikes are scary fast pushing almost 80 hp. To race electric motocross with what is available right now you will need a separate class. Even the Stark Varg would struggle to finish one Moto. I got to ride the Stark Varg, but the battery technology is not there yet. It might be 10 years from now. Could be sooner but I doubt it. Each race moto is 30 minutes of full power going to the wheels for most of the Moto. You also have 2 motos. It will be quite a while before we see electrics in AMA Pro and AMA Pro-Am. ECR has enduro races for electrics which is pretty cool because it is all electrics. Any electric dirbike can enter.

I would buy the electric bike if it sold for around $3K. At $8K, there are way too many great used bikes out there. I'd also like to see the electric to the TAT. If they standardized batteries in all EV's and you could walk into a store and do a quick battery swap then the EV would be a much more viable option.

Too little range for the street.
groms arent really great for tall people@41933
@41933but a Grom needs plates insurance etc
Most people buying Saurrons are not going to resister them or pay insurance
@41933 True, but legally not possible to increase the Groms power to match the electric one, which sucks and on top of that.... sadly, more people are annoyed by motorcycle riders with their loud machines, that's why the electric variant makes a good alternative to ride in the woods and not fearing someone hearing the bike and calling the cops or whatever.

They should have a Grand Tour show for motorbikes and have Ryan host it.
With Zack and Ari from Revzilla Common Tread XP too!
You don't understand... This IS that show.
That is what we just watched😂
It already better though, I dont know what else to ask for
Yes please yes
Size and weight is why I ride a trials bike. It's 20lbs lighter than the Ultra bee, and it has proper wheels and tires, and it's still gas powered, so the range is good and easy to pack more. It also cost $8k.
Gotta admit that having a proper seat and ergonomics would be nice to trail riding though. I love my trials bike but I don't love how tired I get standing all the time.
But can you actually ride the thing for 2 hours at a stretch and not hate yourself in the process?
@@otm646 Two hours? lol, easy. If it's very rough terrain, I start to hate myself after about 7-8 hours. I'd hate lugging a big heavy bike around in rough terrain a lot more. Mine has a seat, but it's basically useless, even on a paved road your ass will hurt if you use it very much.

@Vanadium the MTB industry is pretty shitty about parts for old tech too. I stockpile rebuild kits and exta parts for every bike 😂
It weighs less than a dirtbike so I can do riskier lines and not worry about getting crushed by hot exhaust if I fall.
e-motorbike exist in a grey area, laws haven't caught up to them yet. so they can take advantage of the grey area, for now
You can't park an Ebike anywhere or you be walking home, so not practical.

Enjoyable to watch. I'm a mountain biker myself and just enjoyed how this was all put together, especially the knocks against the eMTB. If I were to get into wanting a dirt bike for trails, the Ultra Bee looks to be a great option to consider, similar price, less maintenance (only question is reliability/serviceability of said motor), all while packing a whole lot of fun in a neat and tidy package (despite its range limitations).
the electric motor never needs service,it lives forever, literally just magnets spinning

But it sounds like it fits what youre looking for. after owning an electric bike, then a surron and now a motorcycle: It just depends on what and where you can ride.
This video make me feel so excited for the future of electric bikes, even if the range isnt what we need now in some places it can still fill relatively big sections of the market and open it to all new groups!😊
I have two Surron Light Bee X's and one Light Bee S. Our whole family loves them. Definitely going to upgrade into an Ultra bee in the near future.

Had a light bee for a year and upgraded to an Ultra. The quality, power and suspension difference is huge. Definitely the better route than modding a light bee.
12:35 I loved the detail where 44 realised there was nothing sensible going to be said, haha
Those are sensible things though, if you sit at work etc it is disadvantage for motorcycles - you also sit. Sure its demanding but riding a bike really helps to keep your health and stamina in check
Also - your comment was stolen by bot

This team is the best in the industry, by far. Oh, and unless 45 is Jason Cammisa, keep 44. He's doing a good job.
Am I the only one that thinks putting the 12 year old motorcycle against a new surron was unfair. Like I think a 2023 klx300 or yz230 would had been a better comparison or even an actual dirtbike.
WR450 would be a good real bike to benchmark it. Or honda whatever just a neutral 450 enduro.
It’s not really a fair comparison at all. Two very different vehicles that can just be used for the same thing
Who's number 44?
@@Hazztech The dude in khaki overalls, whatever they are called. He's far superior to #43, that guy was a hack.
@@Frostbiker who was #43?
I am *constantly* impressed by the quality of the content on this channel. Huge props. And thank you.
I have the direct competitor to this SurRon, an AdmitJet Armor. Similar 12kw power level, but much cheaper AND it has a 4-speed gearbox with a real clutch. I'm throwing a Tusk light kit on it and road registering it soon.
I’ve never seen a gas bike look more like a dinosaur than right now…🦕
I mean, they used a DRZ as an example. It basically is a dinosaur.
Surron = max range of 90 miles at 25 mph, which is impressive. (4 hour charge time)
But a modern dual sport can do 170 miles per tank at 80 mph, (55mpg) all day, no charging required.
Let's ride up to AK. I hear they like dinosaurs like the fossilized DRZ
They chose the worst bike possible, imagine this but with a lightweight KTM. Kinda typical of fortnine now, they skew the test to get the results they wanted.
Really great video - I've been wondering myself about the pros/ cons of something like a CRF250 and an ev equivalent. This Surron looks fab
I've been loving learning about electric bikes recently- though I'm probably gonna enjoy gas powered while I can lol
You can enjoy both, just get a cheaper ebike
@@user-pq4by2rq9y yeah but that's obviously still more expensive than just having a motorcycle; currently I can't really justify purchasing either of them *yet*
Yall never, never, never, never, never disappoint. Always inspire. Please dont stop and keep doing what you are doing!!
Lifetime hardcore motorcyclist aged nigh on 63.
Just rediscovered cycling 4 years ago.
Been away from bicycles since my 16th birthday.
They are FANTASTIC, as is cycling.
We’ve reached the point where Fortnine is now THE two wheeled TopGear. Broadcast, heck cinematic, production values. Genuine humor and chemistry. Unreal how well these are done.
Excellent video as always! I only hope we’re going to see more competition in this sector, because that was a very compelling case!
Ryan desperately trying to fish our MTB brothers 😂
I hope he does. Would be great to have one big 2-wheel market.
I do think we are the same guy (MTB/MX/ADV/Street MC riders). In my circle at least all the MTBrs either already have a dual sport or already race track on small displacement engines
I have the Ultra Bee, KTM 300, Electric Motion Escape R, Alta MX-R and Stark Varg on order. All of the bikes are for sale except for the Ultra Bee. If you like your single track technical and tough, the Ultra Bee is the Bee's Knees.
FanTASTIC camera work on this one, guys!
I wished electric motorcross become mainstream. It make so much sense, great torque, not required for long distance, durable. It's perfect for a electrified 2 wheeler fun.
Okay whatever
I get where you're coming from and I do agree it would be cool if it got a larger fan base and backing but nothing in my mind will replace the sound of a 2 stroke or even 4 stroke bike. Especially when there's 15+ racing.
so much better to listen to than the lawnmower chorus
@@512mbflashdrive Motocross bikes don't sound anything like lawnmowers. Not sure what kind of racing you went to but it wasn't motocross or supercross. Was it a mini bike or tractor race you mistaken for motocross? lol.
MF DOOM MENTIONED!
Man I would not mind watching hour long episodes of this on a weekly basis. Can CBC or discovery or whoever get on that?
Great video guys! I've had my ultra bee for about 2 months now and I can't get enough! Saving up for the 18 - 21 wheel and tire combo
It’s a game changer with the 18/21 setup
I miss top gear but thank you Fortnine, you guys are the motorcycle top gear!
SHOOTOUT THE MF DOOM SHIRT !!!!!
what's truly terrifying is that these are $6000 at a dealership but $600 on aliexpress
Who's pocketing the difference???
Gov and seller
600 + 2000-3000 in port fees and shipping forwarding fees + 3-6 months or more of waiting time.
That's literally fake news.
And another $3000 when it's time for a new battery. It'll be cheaper to just buy a new bike, which seems rather wasteful.
I would buy the electric bike if it sold for around $3K. At $8K, there are way too many great used bikes out there. I'd also like to see the electric to the TAT. If they standardized batteries in all EV's and you could walk into a store and do a quick battery swap then the EV would be a much more viable option.
talaria xxx is 3k and has very similar specs to this bike
Range, refuel time and not having a clutch are the three things that kill electric for me.
I need the range, I don't want to wait two hours to recharge, and I like riding with a transmission.
@@ZebSmithulonI can't help you with range, but there are emotos with transmissions
@@ZebSmithulon its possible to have a clutch with electric, theyre just not common atm
man i love the ryan/44 dynamic with all the visual gags in the background, really funny!
Dude, you guys are so so good in storytelling!
0:41 wtf lol
He had to cough that fly out of his throat😂
Electric wins till you run out of juice in the middle of nowhere.
Gas wins until you run out of gas in the middle of nowhere
This some of the best material I have seen projected on a 2D surface in a long time.
I love your content!
Range is the Shangri La for the Bee and its ilk.. I hope they find it. The single track I ride on my KTM 300 xcw is steep, and chunky. It's not just miles on flat ground, it is thousands of feet of vertical on technical terrain throughout the day. Some rides are 10 hours.
I gotta give Surron extra credit for not requiring a app to ride the damn thing just like the other two bikes in the video.
i love that Fortnine is evolving into Canadian motorcycle Top Gear
Amen! Ridden all the Surrons.. the ultra bee is the most fun i have had! awesome machine
this is the content I subscribed for 6 years ago, never disappoints!
That edit at 6:39-6:40 was Staoshi Kon level.
Fortnine is firing on all cylinders!
I don't ride a bicycle, not looking into e-bikes, but do these people make the videos entertaining and informative, on any topic. You could make a video about paint drying interesting. Well done!
I got an Alibaba SurRon Ultra and my VIN is intact. Trick is to get a rated seller. Was $5500 shipped, but you wait two months. Comes with a Chinese charger and inverter adapter. Also comes with turn signals and passenger pegs. US dealers have Ultras for $6500. It's $8k in Canada. Sweet review none the less
Which did you use?
