  • This week’s step-by-step design guide lifts the lid of something quite cool: how to model using a LiDAR scan and the AR preview. Wayne State Industrial Design Professor Claas Kuhnen is here to show how you can scan an interior space and then import the STL model into Shapr3D so that you can use it as a reference for your 3D model. Lastly, you can preview and verify your design with Shapr3D’s built-in AR tool.

Do you have a link for the free scanning app? Did I miss that somewhere?

FOR ME COOL BUT... i am working with scans everyday , here is shown scan as a mesh and trust me point clouds are much much more accuracy. i hope maybe U could implement possibility of importing point clouds like .e57 or .ply format

Are y’all gonna add a liDAR mode in. Shaper3d?

If I scan in standard, would I have to change my units to inches and import to feet to make it 1:1?

Puh…..very complicated, it would be faster to measure the Desk an create it on Shapr3D! I thoght „Scan, Import, ready to use“ but this is not the right way i think
