I like it. Yes I believe there should be someone explaining the math and calculations but I’m mean look at how beautiful it is? This is on an iPad. Yeah the cost is relatively high but considering how smooth and easy of a platform this is I can’t imagine it’ll take too long to have an additional gear maker added. Just wanna leave some positivity. This app is what sold me on a 1400.00 iPad. Cad design is only a hobby of mine , but one that is close to my heart. Thank you for creating such a beautiful program on the iOS system.
I’ve been using the free version to learn on, and honestly I haven’t been constrained by the limitations. Sure, the ability to have more than 2 projects would be nice and all, but I’m very happy with it so far. After a lot of reviews for tons of apps like this, it seems like the best one! There is another one, can’t recall bit it was a one time payment of 1,500! I really like the fact it works flawlessly with the Apple Pencil!
No animation or contact sets hinders this apps full CAD program feel personally. For example (for mechanical engineering), after finishing these gears, constraining them at their center points and actually seeing how they actually work/fit is kind of a must in my opinion.
To make the green body - on the back view, select the top right closed sketch and the two rectangular sketches that are part of the cut out shape and revolve it around the Horizontal axis defined by the topmost edge. To make the bottom body - on the back view, select the bottom right closed sketch that looks like a backwards 7 and the two rectangular sketches that are part of the cut out shape and revolve it around the Z axis. I hope this helps because I was stumped for a while on this.
I was searching through the comments to see if anyone else noticed this. Up to 5:39, all he drew was sketches. Then he opens the folders and there are 2 bodies there. He didn't show how he made them.
Ah, so you move the centre point in order to copy impressions around the circumference of the circle. Genius! The 7:45 mark is the most-viewed for a reason, it all becomes obvious here. Definitely recommend to fellow Shapr3D students. 🙂 The purple dot is the impression's imaginary centre point, and the blue highlighting is the impression itself. New impressions will be made rotating across the centre point.
Hi, thanks for the feedback. The subscription model helps us stay on toes to deliver useful app updates to users at no extra cost and we do not have a one-time payment option. I will pass on your feedback to our product team and hopefully, we might consider a one-time model sometime in the future.
Thank you for feedback. We keep trying to improve Shapr3d and how best we can have everyone on board and feedback from users like yours is always welcome. We might, however, consider a one-time payment option sometime in the future having received similar feedbacks. I also passed on your feedback to our product team.
Would it be possible to get an updated bevel gear tutorial? My robotics students are finding themselves in need of bevel gears in their robot designs, but they have been struggling to find a tutorial that shows them how to make one.
it's cool but, i came from polygonal 3D modeling program so, i don't understand why there is no multi purposes array option for this kind of stuff, with instances of object option to be able to change the teeth shape easily, in case of client changes.
I would agree about the price. For my personal use, I can’t justify the subscription price. Either lower the subscription price substantially or allow a one time purchase. I could probably see $10/month.
Thanks for the feedback. At the moment we are the cheapest Parasolid modeler in the market and we operate the subscription as we can provide users with new features constantly without any additional costs. However, I will pass on your feedback to our product team.
Shapr3D Hmm, I got Fusion 360 for FREE as a hobbyist! And, they offer MUCH MORE than this product does! If I want to make some gears, this would be the LAST app I would use to do that because of price and functionality or lack of!
Figured out how you got the gear bodies, nicely done. Disappointed that you haven't replied to people's questions though. He gets the two gear bodies by using revolve on two different sections of the sketch. That's why it's so tight as one person observed, however gears like this are adjusted for play when installed so tight doesn't matter.
Hello, thank you for your feedback. We keep trying to get back to everyone as prompt as possible and respond to all user questions. I apologize if somehow we skipped some and we will get back to them.
This would have benefitted more from a webinar approach where someone is actually explaining all the sketch lines. It would be nice if you just had a gear making tool like Fusion360. It’s a common enough 3D model item that it doesn’t make sense to go through all this work each time
Hi. we have received similar feedback. I would pass on your feedback to our product team and hopefully, this will be available in the app soonest. Thank you for your understanding.

Shapr3D Understanding? Umm, why should I pay you $31/mo for something that doesn’t even have a gear generator while I can get it for FREE on other apps? Your company is positioning itself for failure to reach the hobby community!
Great tool but a more affordable consumer pricing is definitely needed. I am a hobbyist and I cannot fathom paying the ludicrous monthly subscription fee for designing just a handful of projects. Until there is better pricing I will have to search elsewhere.
Don’t be ridiculous, it’s under 200 Euros/year, which is more than appropriate for what you get. Good luck finding something for free and I hope you will be able to afford your hobby on that budget! 🙄
@@waytosacramento3843 The cost is high, but at least the subscription should be one time and there is room to move the mechanical design, as is the case in Solidworks
