This song might be one of the most significant musical discoveries I made when I was a teenager. Like “Wishing Well” by Terence Trent D’Arby… I discovered this song during a period of time where life as I knew it was opening up in so many ways. It came out in 1982 but I did not discover it until 1985 when I was 13/14. There was an incredible post punk, new wave, synthy phenomena taking place in the early part of the 80s and for me… “Don’t go” and “You Spin Me Right Round (Like a Record) were two songs that launched my exploration of it all. I had a friend in the neighborhood who was a year or two older than me, Robyn. She was unlike anyone I had ever met in my life. She had punk/new wave style and introduced me to a whole new world musically and culturally. She walked the walk, talked the talk, and looked the part. The first time I ever went to a club dancing (underage club) was with her and this song was what finally got me out on the dance floor. It was an incredible moment in my life I will never forget and I go right back to that time whenever I hear it. I’m sure many of you probably haven’t ever heard it, don’t care for it, or just don’t have the same connection to the song as I do… but I had to do this one. 😅😂
I was broken hearted a few years back when Pete Burns (Dead or Alive) passed...this was a part of such a push of synth pop...Howard Jones, Flock of Seagulls, The Eurhythmics, Spandau Ballet, Gary Numan, the list goes on...
I still play it over and over again. I actually found the vinyl LP in a box in the back of my closet a few months back. I forgot I had that many albums, so I need to buy a new record player...lol.
Ah! The songs of my youth! Now we're talking. This is the kind of music I want to see people react to. I could keep them all busy for a year naming songs for them to hear.
I like the ending of the video. It's great, good job 👏, I remember a reaction by a woman who knew the song. But couldn't belive that it was not a man singing it.
Love the song but am here for the ‘making of’ section also ! Mind blown………….again 🤯 I don’t know how you do it but am very grateful you can 👏👏👏 🏴 ✌️
I'm impressed with your selection of this deep 80's new wave cut. Talented artists started a new sound and look that was different from the 60's and 70's. That new sound created a cult that captured the attention of those that were looking for something unique, eccentric, modern for the time. Not any different than the artists of Hip-hop or Grunge that created whole new genres and the excitement that comes with it.
Awesome choice! Alison Moyet's voice and Vince Clarke is so talented, pouring out his hits from various bands. My favorite Yaz tune is State Farm and Erasure is one of my favorite bands. Thank you, WonderMomma!
WMOG thanks for another great montage. The reactors did t realize the synthesizer was a large part of bands in the eighties. So much so it w called synth-- rock , looking forward to another live. Keep em coming friend. 😃✌️🤟
This makes me happy! Almost as good as hearing a song for the first time myself. Introducing others to some of my favorites! Thank you for your comment.
Vince Clark the man playing the synthesizer has started three amazing synth bands, Yaz or Yazoo, Depeche Mode, and Erasure with Andy Bell. Check them all out!! ❤
And all come from Basildon in Essex England. And I used to see them play in the clubs round Essex playing to crowds of about 100 people and Depeche mode. Clubs like cross etc wow Depeche mode made it big all round the world by mid 80s.
Yay, WonderMommaOG, you paid homage to new wave!! So glad to hear this song. May we get another helping of new wave?? Lol . 😄Thanks for the compilation.. 🙏
OMG I would love to cover some Freestyle music! It was a huge part of my life back in the 80's when I lived in California. Debbie Deb, Johnny O, Stevie B, etc. etc. etc.
Alison Moyet has an incredible voice, she was treated like garbage by the brit musical press due to her larger size. She should have been on top for a ton of great songs. I think of her as the Adele of her time vocally wise
When it came out on chart for long time when see did top pops see was high school see got out school and want right to the top pop and became star ⭐️ make lots of money 💵
I think I've heard this song before, but it does sound really similar to others I've heard. Great beat! Would love for you to do a compilation to Tom McDonald's Ghost! It only came out about a month ago, but already, so many reaction videos have been done to it!! Great song!!
lol hiiii... I'm around! I'm ok! I'm so sorry. I've been very busy this last month... still working on the next project as much as I can. I'm almost done with it! Thank you for checking in. 💜

The results speak for themselves……. And I’m sure you’ve introduced this to a lot of others as always peace, love, joy, and hope to you and yours.
You had me at Wishing well :-)

I was fortunate enough to grow up in NY, and WLIR went on the air at the perfect time. Can I interest you in some XTC?
@@zippymacadoo6336 Dear God would make a great compilation...
Basildon...they're one of our own.. We used to watch Alison down the pub
I was 12 when this came out. I ended up being a rock and heavy metal fan in the main, but 80's synth is one of my guilty pleasures.
Ditto!
same, especially Human League
Same 11 when this came out. Later was metalhead who moved to orlando in 90s during the peak of techo rave music. 🎉
I grew up in the 80's and in my opinion that was the greatest decade for music. Love your channel.
Thank you! Another 80's child! Glad you're here!
I grew up in the 80's also and I agree 100% 80's was the best decade for all music

I love all the reactors, however, Mr. Video always kills me! 🤣❤😂
I used to clean my apartment, in the mid '80's, to "Upstairs at Eric's!" Love Yaz!
💜💫✌🏼🎵
I've always loved Alison Moyet's voice. Her song Invisible was one that I used to play over and over again.
I still play it over and over again. I actually found the vinyl LP in a box in the back of my closet a few months back. I forgot I had that many albums, so I need to buy a new record player...lol.
Ditto
My favourite of hers is
Midnight
She’s so underrated
Her and Lisa Fischer most haven’t heard either
80s was so dam awesome
I most definitely roller-skated to this song. So much fun!
Keyboard players in the 80's were some of the most serious people to have existed.
Vince Clarke was one of the original members of Depeche Mode.
Oh yes!!!
Was 12 years old when this came out. We had a variety of music back than and so glad being a teenager at this time.
My dad bought me the album I had finished my 11+ exam's. I still have it.
Ok i was in high school when this banger was released! British invasion 80s. The album upstairs at erics was a banger
Always loved 80's New Wave ♥️
I was 19. Great tune!
Mr. Video dancing is the best lol.

I remember hearing this song for the first time at the club early 80s, wanna dance every time I hear it!
another 80s hit
Great important band
She in my top 3 favourite female singers of all time
Alison Moyet is one of my favourite female singers of all time.
So many bands related to Yazoo. Depeche Mode and Erasure to name two. Vince Clarke is a keyboard genius.
Ah! The songs of my youth! Now we're talking. This is the kind of music I want to see people react to. I could keep them all busy for a year naming songs for them to hear.
Alison Moyet was the original 'Adele'. A very talented lady who went on to do even better things.
SONG 80 MAGIC AND IMMORTAL......
I like the ending of the video. It's great, good job 👏, I remember a reaction by a woman who knew the song. But couldn't belive that it was not a man singing it.
Yazoo. Excellent. Alison Moyet & Vince Clarke. Vince Clarke is one of those musical genius, like David A Stewart of the Eurythmics. Peace out.
Fantastica😘🙋♀️
Buongiorno 🤗😊🙋♀️☕🌺🌿

Holy throwback 👏 well done as always.
80's synth was so good

Very important band, with the New Wave age.
Thanks, usually I hide under the furniture after the keyboards-synth of the early 80's . 🤣😆 I did love her voice.
Can't listen to this without thinking of Teri Hatcher, 25 years old on the stage in the movie Tango and Cash. Thank you for this one!
Try Alison singing 'All Cried Out' 🥰🇬🇧
WMOG thanks for another great montage. The reactors did t realize the synthesizer was a large part of bands in the eighties. So much so it w called synth-- rock , looking forward to another live. Keep em coming friend. 😃✌️🤟
Alison Moyet brings real emotion to Vince Clarkes brilliant sounds... Please check out the song 'Midnight' as it has maybe more of a gut punch
I do believe this is 80' British club music .

Your channel is a good one for Being exposed to new artists.. love your work/passion.. stay versatile

Of course! It played a significant role in my musical development. 😆
Excellent video! Thank you for also showing us how you created it. Really cool to see how it was done. 😊
That synthesizer music was so big at this time in music. Another song I'm not familiar with. You're introducing me to new stuff. Great job again.
Not music that is up my alley, but I gotta drop WonderMommaOG a comment and a like! 👍👍
This is awesome. It was my college music, Yaz. My Mom saw the singer Alison Moyet in Europe maybe 15 years ago. Try some freestyle like Diamond Girl
OMG I would love to cover some Freestyle music! It was a huge part of my life back in the 80's when I lived in California. Debbie Deb, Johnny O, Stevie B, etc. etc. etc.

Adel is nowhere near alf..its amazing the Americas haven't a clue about 80s british music..we are the world leaders
@van dam parmo my wife is American, every time I play UK 80's she hardly ever knows the bands......sacrilegious tbh. I'm British in case you wondered.
Barfight! This is perfect barfight music.
I think I've had a few impromptu club dance offs to this song but never a fist fight! 😅
@@WonderMommaOG, Ha Ha! I’ve got a dark sense of humor. It’s just the way it sounds like in a movie. Cue music and……FIGHT!
@@philstone3859 No worries, I could totally kick someone's ass to this song! 😅
@@WonderMommaOG, WonderMommaOG with the Win! 👊💪🦶🫵 😼

I don't see many song reaction channels but yours is amazing
I like how you switch up the video layouts when appropriate as well
Thank you so much. Much appreciated!

Now ya gotta do Situation
Synth music is the best! Depeche Mode, new order, pet shop boys, erasure, the smiths, cause and effect, camouflage, etc…
Annnnnd I'm back in high school! ❤
❤
Yaz in the US, Yazoo in the UK
Omgggg I love Alison Moyet! 😍 I remember wanting to go on Stars in Their Eyes to do a yazoo song when I was younger 😂
Please do Depeche Mode, would blow people's mind.
I think I've heard this song before, but it does sound really similar to others I've heard. Great beat!
Would love for you to do a compilation to Tom McDonald's Ghost! It only came out about a month ago, but already, so many reaction videos have been done to it!! Great song!!
I see a band that has been neglected for a compilation and that is Steelheart. I'm quite sure one of you all could put together something amazing.
😁🤗👍💃
You should do a video reaction to the song House Of The Rising Song by the band The Animals........Classic Rock Song....
Do a Reaction Compilation of Lorna Shore: To The Hellfire or Sun//Eater
Please do MJ Smooth Criminal reaction mashup.
This one has always been a weird one to me. Yazzo didn’t make much of a splash here. I’ve heard the song before almost sounds like Annie Lennox.
COP THAT YANKY 🇬🇧🙃
Where are you? Are you ok?
lol hiiii... I'm around! I'm ok! I'm so sorry. I've been very busy this last month... still working on the next project as much as I can. I'm almost done with it! Thank you for checking in. 💜
