    GUNS N ROSES FACTS
-American hard rock band from Los Angeles, California, formed in 1985.
-Debut album, Appetite for Destruction, reached number one on the Billboard 200 a year after its release due to the strength of its top 10 singles Welcome to the Jungle, Paradise City, and Sweet Child o’ Mine.
-Appetite for Destruction is the best selling debut album and 11th best selling album in the United States.
-By 1998 only Rose remained of the original line up who chose to make the band’s sound more industrial and electronic.
MEMBERS AS OF THE RELEASE OF THIS SONG
    Axl Rose - Lead vocals
    Slash - Lead guitar
    Izzy Stradlin - Rhythm guitar
    Duff McKagan - Bass guitar
    Steven Adler - Drums
WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE, SONG FACTS
-From their debut album Appetite for Destruction.
-Released in the UK in September 1987 and again in the United States in October 1998 reaching number 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 24 on the UK Singles Chart.
-Listed on Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.
-Alx Rose wrote the lyrics while visiting a friend in Seattle stating “It’s a big city, but at the same time, it’s still a small city compared to LA and the things you’re going to learn. It seemed a lot more rural up there. I just wrote how it looked to me. If someone comes to town and they want to find something, they can find whatever they want.”. He also related the lyrics to an encounter he and a friend had with a homeless man while they were coming out of a bus into New York. The man yelled at them, “You know where you are? You’re in the jungle baby; you’re gonna die!”
-Guitarist Izzy Stradlin summarizes the song as “about Hollywood streats; true to life”.

Another favorite of mine... this video was so much fun to make! Many people had heard this from Guitar Hero or sporting events previously, but had never sat down and really listened to it nor saw the video. Others had never heard of it at all.
I didn't really notice anything new in the process of making this video, but as always, I got to know the song on an intimate level which always makes me appreciate it even more. It also brings back so many memories! I was 15-16 when this came out!
I highly recommend: Massive Attack - Teardrop: ua-cam.com/video/Tb0MC0jFv6M/v-deo.html
I hope you all are doing well!

I was 27 and had just moved to LA when this came out. Man, was it fitting. Between the earthquakes, the riots, and the whole transient nature of the city, I was happy to leave in ‘91.
Thanks for doing a bang up job on this seminal work. 💖

Would love to get a timer on the making of part to get a feel for the hours you are putting into it.

@@JeffMartinEquinox Thank you so much! I did keep track on the Journey video I made and it turned out to take about 34 hours. They vary greatly. The Comfortably Numb video and the Peart drum solo were probably the two most time consuming. Also difficult because of my love and respect for the artists. Free Bird was probably up there with those two as well. lol It takes some time, for sure, but I quite enjoy the process even though parts of it are quite tedious. I just stay focused on the fact I will actually have something pretty cool to show for all the work. I'm still shocked how much others like them! Thank you for taking the time to watch and leave a comment.

The Jungle refers to Los Angeles. When Axl Rose (Lead singer) arrived in LA for the first time, a presumably homeless man look at Axl and said "Do you know where you are? You're in the jungle baby...YOU'RE GONNA DIE!" He used that for the bands biggest hit.

Like this is the most devoted, passionate and humble compilation maker I have ever discovered in my entire life, and I'm not even having a good day to fake saying this or anything like that. She literally planned the entire thing as if her whole life depended on it and gave us all the informations I could even think of : the reactors' names, original reaction video links, fair use disclaimer, and heck, even the band members, fun facts about the song, her own cover and the 'behind the scene' of the compilation? I was jaw dropped by the whole thing! 🤯

You guys nailed it as far as figuring out what this song is about. When axl rose got off the bus from Indiana as a small town county boy. He came to Los Angeles CA. A man on the street screamed at Axl." Welcome to the jungle baby! You gonna die!" In the big city your gonna get eaten alive by all the crime ,drugs, prostitution, gangs! All of it! The world is not all sunshine and rainbows. It's a cruel and nasty place! As quoted by Sylvester Stallone in Rocky Balboa.

Wonderful job MommaOG. Arguably the most important band of the 80s and 90s. Axl Rose and Slash had an amazing songwriting partnership but it did come with alot of arguing and fighting. One of the greatest debut rock albums of all time.

Thank goodness for GNR to pull us out of the cheesy hair metal phase we were all stuck in. They brought the world back to seriously raw, unapologetic, hard rock music. This entire album was glorious.

Granted there were rock and hard rock bands on the radio when G’n’R came out, this band blew everyone’s mind. The only other band that could be considered in their category was Motley Crue. It took the Crue a little while to get traction, but G’n’R came out of the gates blazing at the right time.

Hey, can we talk about how Axel Rose looks like he's about 16 or 17 in this Video? I wasn't ever a big fan of GnR back in the day; but watching it now, like I can see the talent that's there, especially at such a young age. I mean, I know he was probably at least 18; but that's still young!

Some history for all you young people: Rock was dying when this came out. We had hair bands and it had all become boring and big joke. Then this band came out. It was still rock, but it was new and flavorful and raw and different. I think they only had really the one album. But they set the stage for grunge and various flavors of heavy metal that had been underground to that point. They also set the stage for a fork in the road where one led to alternative rock, which allowed for many, many female artists like Tori Amos and many others. Guns N Roses was definitely a turning point.
