"Another Brick in the Wall" is a song by English progressive rock band Pink Floyd. Bassist Roger Waters wrote "Part 2" as a protest against rigid schooling, particularly boarding schools.[3] "Another Brick in the Wall" appears in the film based on the album. In the "Part 2" sequence, children enter a school and march in unison through a meat grinder, becoming "putty-faced" clones, before rioting and burning down the school.

Over the next few years, every dream is naysaid until dreaming must be kept to yourself. Then you increasingly run into educators who tell you that it is time to prepare for the "real world". "Forget those childish dreams. We rubber stamp identical products as graduates.

The Wall album is a rock novel that must be listed to in its entirety. Based on a childs perspective growing into adulthood during and after WWII in Great Britain.
You gotta see the Movie to get the full experience. It is a concept! I saw it and got it. On another note, It seems like it is come full circle and translated to current times. Hey, Teachers, leave them kids alone! The teacher was quoting the lyrics to pink floyd's song "money".
Great job as usual :) You really do an amazing job putting all this together. What blows me away is of the dozens and dozens of reactions to this song.. Not one person has ever picked up that the poem is actually the lyrics in the song Money from dark side of the moon.

@@MultiReactAThon l really wish you would do a song like Your Possible Pasts or The Final Cut. They showcase the true writing talent of Roger Waters, who did the vast majority of the writing. Without him there's no Dark Side, Animals, and yes The Wall too. He also has a video for The Fletcher Memorial Home where he honors his father who died in WWII when Roger was an infant. Only years later did they find out what happened to him and this was a nice tribute.

You need to listen to the whole album in one sitting, it is not just individual songs, it tells the story of Pink (a mix of Syd Barrett and Roger Waters). The "WALL" is in his head (mental illness and depression), When a life altering situation arises (His dad dying in WW2, school abuse, cheating wife) he adds "another brick in the wall".
The album is very deep with meaning and IMO one of the masterpieces of music!!

I was bought up in these sort of schools in the early sixties, Manchester UK
The words in the poem are part of the lyrics from "Money" on The Dark Side Of The Moon album.
At the time in this moment as a 15 year old. We would call out teachers with the words
"hey teacher leave these kids alone" most teachers where good people. But we know some off them where bad bastards and slapping with a leather belt across the hand was common.
1972 to 1976 I was slapped at least once a day.
Got to watch the movie to pull this song and songs like comfortably numb together.
The teacher reading the poems in the intro always makes me mad. "They're laughing because the poems are GOOD!" 😭

I left school in Scotland in '85. The standard punishment was detention or "6 of the best" which was the "strap" or "belt" on the palm of the hand. So...there were companies profiting by making straps of leather for grown men and women to hit schoolkids with.......jings ma fuckin boab!!

The point is that most public education, especially in the UK, prepares children for a life of obedience and mediocrity.
It takes alot to work out the movie but there is 3 parts to that song the second part comfortably numb means he's lost the plot n he's in a band and they want him on stage there nit bothered about his mental health he sits trying to build a brink wall up around his self feeling sorry for his self all songs x

Roger Waters wrote this song about the horrible British schools where you have to go on levels and if you fail a level you can't go any higher but he actually bought this school what did he turn to school into a music school

The constant pausing is the worst part of these reaction videos.

I think they are pausing to circumvent copyright breaches, fair usage so to speak. However, it is unneccesary with certain music tracks. The bots detect a copyright track within a second or so of uploading and they just need a small sample of the artist's material!
It’s a really hearth warming moment to see young people listening to PF one iconic song. But on the same place is saddening that all of them just lightening up to the lyrics hearing “ we don’t need your education “ everyone of us born or will be born need education or we would turn to the US way where the students can choose what objects they want to learn. Because sports needs just a limited numbers of players or anticipates in the game. I had a hard time in my time 65 yrs ago with my teachers like those kids in the video. Did I forgot what they did teach me? Certainly not! Did I forgot the pain from the liner on my butt? Of course I did. But those, who probably didn’t have the same education as I have, with all the punishments, certainly felt more pain in their life than me! Education wasn’t invented by mistakes, and no one knows when and what situation can be used in life!!! One little taught about the listeners. The African Americans were the only ones who were sitting and listening to all the way but I could see the shock on their face!
