    This is very useful information about magnesium even outside of the Parkinson's context. I have used all of your recommended forms in a formula that has a bit if magnesium taurate also. I suspect that my mother maybe developing Lewy Body Dementia or else she has had negative effects from Ropinirole which she had used for Restless Legs Syndrome. She is now off of that and suffers zero RLS. Ropinirole aggravated the condition and maybe ght have caused hallucinations. Now at home, she also improved from the month long stay at the nursing home rehab facility perhaps, who knows because I have resumed her Benfotiamine with Thiamine. She has no diagnosis but I think I need to look into high dose Thiamine.

    I was told by my MD I may have Alzheimer, however she has not offered anything but to monitor me every six months. I really don't think the medical community knows of the B1 and magnesium.

      Recently, randomized, placebo-control, double blinded trials have reported improvements in Mild Cognitive Impairment in cases with mild/moderate Alzheimer with benfotiamine, a synthetic derivative of thiamine (B1). These studies have found benfotiamine to be well tolerated for the duration of the trial. More evidence is required but this is a rather promising line of research. This information is provided as information and education purposes only. Always consult with your health care provider before using any supplements.

      Alzheimer’s has a high possibility of improvements if she increase her animal fat intake or MCT oil. Look it up on UA-cam of MCT oil and Alzheimer’s.

      Scientific information on the vitamin B protocol is available at b1parkinsons.org and Daphne Bryan's book on Parkinson's and the B1 therapy, available also in Spanish, from www.hyperurl.co/B1Therapy. Many documents are available at the Facebook group on Parkinson's B1 therapy at facebook.com/groups/parkinsonsb1therapy

    Thank you very much Sergio for a helpful video. Please advise if Magnesium L-Carnitine combined with elemental Magnesium Bisglycinate is a recommended supplement for PwP. It was expensive... Thanks, Geoff

      Thanks Geoff. We have reviewed 14 different forms of magnesium in our document on Thiamine and magnesium (accessible through our website b1parkinsons.org ), but not magnesium l-carnitine. Magnesium bisglycinate has a good availability.

    Do you recommend fat soluble B1 benfotiamine over water soluble thiamine for Parkinson's?

      @B1Therapy  Рік тому +1

      There are no published studies on the use of benfotiamine in Parkinson's. A few anectodal reports have described mixed results. Benfotiamine represents an interesting form of thiamine, which has already provided encouraging results in diabetes neuropathy and mild cognitive impairment in Alzheimer's. Its mechanism of action is still not clearly understood.

    Thanks for the very useful information. Do you have a breakdown of the pros and cons of using magnesium bicarbonate?

    • @B1Therapy
      @B1Therapy  Рік тому

      Unfortunately, as far as I know, studies reviewing and comparing different forms of magnesium have not included magnesium carbonate. Magnesium carbonate is commonly included in preparations for heartburn relief and stomach upset. As other forms of magnesium, it may interfere with other medicines and supplements, so it is always advisable to check first with a health care practitioner.

    What is better
    B1 sublingual or capsule? As well as a dose

    • @B1Therapy
      @B1Therapy  28 днів тому

      B1 in the b1 therapy in Parkinson's has been administered via sublingual (tablets), oral or intramuscular way. The sublingual and intramuscular routes bypass the gastrointestinal tract, where absorption may be affected by many factors in persons with Parkinson's. However, all the 3 routes are reported to be effective if the right dose of b1 for each specific individual is found following the b1 protocol. Consult with your physician if you plan to start high-dose thiamine therapy.
