Doesn't revenants 4th ability increase it's damage relative to the damage received (while Mesmer skin is active this damage still follows through) When I Mained revenant I couldn't help but notice that when I'm using my 4th, damage numbers appear in the buff area that shows the damage I've taken and it reduces that amount as that damage then gets spent through the 4th. I could be wrong, but I definitely think that it would be a major oversight to not include this in your video about revenant, and if I'm wrong, hey, no harm no foul, just further testing.
um ok you actually missed something that is very relevant. during heart of Deimos update reveant got a passive overhaul, the new passive is shield depetion smashes enemies within a 7.5m with a 100 damage knockdown shockwave
Using Nyx's mind control on a thrall makes it invincible till mind control wears off, meaning it can keep thralling other enemies without teammates taking it out. much better CC this way.
there's a correct casting order, though, I think it's first Nyx's, then Rev's, It's kinda cool to use. But if u just want to dominate the entire map, playing Xaku may be better, I used them on Citrine's new farm, really chill runs, always having around 22 mindcontrolled allies by my side, not shooting me or the defense target, so smooth
@@NeuralSensei I thought we were all afk playing by this point ... I don't know if its a glitch but I subsumed defy onto every frame I hav ... but I made it the passive instead of a numbered ability ... 😂😂😂
A revenant is not a vampire. It stems from old Norse folklore and the half ghost half zombie thing called a genganger. Which means "one who walks again". So the Revenant thematic is actually more in line with eidolons than vampires. Gengangere and in tow revenants are spirits come back from the dead to hunt their killer or similar ventures of vengeance. Revenant's development was jumbled up because the Devs in amongst their ranks didn't know this, like you don't and thus had wildly different ideas what a revenant is. In fact vampire was never on the table. Not until Rebecca on stream said it's a vampire because she sees the concept and thinks vampire. She did the same for Garuda. She has a vampire obsession. Neither frame are vampire inspired. Although Garuda in SEA folklore did drink the blood of slain evil spirits. Though not for vampiric purposes. More like garbage disposal.
i... actually thought revenant was a vampire too due to his prime clothing. and my first guess when he came out was a spartan or roman soldier until styanax came out. but now upon looking up a genganger, i now see where everyone's favorite (mine included) scp waifu's art came from. soooo... finding revenant's theme from looks alone was extremely difficult.
Yeah but like he’s totally a vampire. Got thrall servants and fangs and saps the life from enemies and turns to mist. Also likes to dance a bit. Which makes him a vampire.
I think Revenant is a jiangshi from Chinese mythology. It makes more sense, since it shares a lot of similarities with the Western vampire. A Jiangshi is described as a zombie that absorbs life energy, moves in leaps (or smoke), and can turn others into Jiangshi as well (slaves). The company that owns DE is Tencent too, if I'm not mistaken. It may have a reference, in the same way as Nezha and Wukong.
i like to think the revenants old kit was the kit of the warden, and after being revived by the same sentient energy that revives the eidolons he gained his current 4 instead
That's how I saw it too. It makes complete sense. If primes weren't hard set to be slightly upgraded versions of none primes. I'd figure his prime would have his original 4.
My favorite use for Revenant is for solo Fortuna bounties and Thermia Fractures. He straight up turns off any aggro with Thrall to protect Thermia capsules and the Ambush Point vehicle, all while standing around invincible
Some inconsistencies about themes and names that are found such as Garuda being a Sun-eagle demigod, king of bird and... a mount to Vishnu and we got a female frame with a theme about blood more akin to vampire. The same can go about Nyx being a goddess of night and darkness and we got a frame with psychic powers and the list goes on and on...
@@ricardonieves5507 Dude what are you talking about, Banshee's theme is on point. Folklore Banshee's were female spirits who's scream could kill you. Banshee the warframe manipulates sound to kill people. Sonic boom, radar, silence, sound quake, all her moves are named after sound.
I honestly think they screwed up a bit because if you remember Revenant and Garuda were rather close in time for release. There was supposed to be a vampire themed warframe, which they made into Revenant, but I think that truly was for Garuda.
This feels like a fever dream, back when I was playing and Rev was my go to everyone was shitting on him 24/7. People actively left missions because I was playing him.
I never saw Revenant really as a vampire frame. I was always thought he was supposed to be the "Eidolon" frame. With his 3 mimicking the little floating Eidolons charge attack and his 4 mimicking the laser attack the larger Eidolons/basic sentients use. The first two abilities didn't really fit because of this.
I always thought of the abilities as mimicing several abilities from the poe eidolons. Reave is, like you said, the thing vomvalysts do when they lose their shield. Mesmer Skin mimics the fact that you can't damage a Terralyst / Gantulyst / Hydrolyst through normal means until depleting the special shield it has. Danse Macabre mimics the disco ball spawned by Gantulyst Enthrall is a little more strange, but once you reave through them or kill them to turn them into the pillars, they are very similar to the laser pillars Gantulyst spawns, or the lighting Hydrolyst spawns under the players feet. Overall, the entire kit is pretty thematically in line with enemy abilities you would experience in an eidolon hunt.
The fact that he can delete just about every enemy when strength is over 100% using an ability combo that reinforces his immortality Is bonkers. And one of those abilities is a cray traversal move. Any enemy that even manages to hit him is disabled is amazing synergy, and versatile. I just replaced lazer spin with roar.
Funny thing is you don't need to enthrall and then reave, you can just apply viral to them, with roar you need 4 stats of viral (if I remember correctly) and without it 6-8 stats of viral
I'm okay with Revenant's Mesmer Skin making him effectively immortal. In the list of priorities that is game breaking balance, ridiculous tankiness is pretty much on the bottom versus AoE nuke cheese (Saryn Spores, Mesa Peacemaker) or massive CC (Nyx Chaos, Vauban Bastille/Vortex). It's also nice to have another frame that scale infinitely to enemy max level in Steel Path via sheer tankiness and not something like Invisibility such as Ash, Loki, or Octavia.
Well said. I'd consider not having a grace period between skin layers except for a 1 second invulnerability window on the last one. His thralls and damage output should be saving him from one off hits so he'd only need the skin as a panic shield on that last layer every now and then if you don't recast.
@caglayankarakurt3504 It wouldn't be bad at all. Most enemies get stunned when they shoot it. The few who don't are still affected by the aggro your thralls draw. Revenant also still has his shields for gating. He'd be fine with that change
@@Cantaloupe_Connoiseur The reason Mesmer Skin got the 1 second invulnerability was in response to DE reworking eximus enemies. Remember they're immune to being stunned so fighting any eximus with a full auto weapon (ex. Crewman, Tech Crewman, Lancers, Heavy Gunners) is going to result in your Mesmer Skin getting completely chewed up in seconds. Yes, there was a period of time when Eximus enemies got reworked before Revenant's Mesmer Skin got buffed. You had to recast the ability absurdly frequently to avoid dying. It was no different from being pelted by those gunships in Plains of Eidolon which did that years before the Eximus rework.
@Pizzarugi I played Revenant after that change and am aware of it. Again, your thralls draw more aggro than you do, and any amount of fast movement can prevent all your skin from being destroyed before you can react. The skin is supposed to make him way harder to kill, not completely invincible to everything
Reave is actually a really good damage ability. With enough power strength, you can one shot kill any enemies who got enthralled with Reave. Regardless of the enemies level. Because the damage is based on the enemies HP percentage. Cast enthrall, reave through them. And they're dead. With like 290 power strength+max stacked molt augmented you can kill enthralled Acolytes with a quick three spams of Reaves.
Or just shoot them instead of going through two long cast animations. Reave doesn't even do its full damage on enthralled acolytes. Danse macabre would kill them faster
@@InsertSomethingStupid2002 that's why casting speed is very important on Revenant. Beside mod I also put some archon shards for casting speed. I believe many others do the same too. Funny enough danse macabre is actually useless on higher level enemies. Because the damage scale is so bad. I replace it with Roar from Rhino.
thralls will convert any enemy they damage, and the same applies to the pillar and projectiles that spawn when they die. it's not at all difficult to keep up thralls in a squad when the death of your thralls simply makes more, unless you've got a saryn or whatever just instakilling every enemy that spawns in before they can get to you
Thralls work similarly to Sayrn's Spores actually, they can renew themselves to an extent, but not infinitely, unless it was changed recently When a thrall dies it will release ~2 or 3 projectiles that target other enemies and enthrall them, but when those enemies die, they won't again release projectiles that enthrall more enemies, you need to recast at that point But it is true you only need 1 or 2 casts of the ability to reach 7 thralls pretty easily, and that the ability can sustain itself far beyond it's actual ability timer displayed on your HUD though That's my understanding of the ability having used it for a long time, but it might just be circumstantial as it's what I've observed, not what's programmed into the game Either way, no matter what the coding behind the ability is, you *will* need to cast enthrall again after the first or second thrall spread as it can't sustain itself infinitely
it's still a bit of a challenge to keep your thralls up. imo enthrall just needs to become an aoe cone like frost's ice wave. the thralls would still die quickly but at least it would be easy to convert a large number of them
You misunderstood Enthrall and Reave. It does max hp% based true damage, allowing you to 2 skill kill even the tankiest of enemies. Swapping the 4 for Marked for Death allows for the Enthrall > Mark > Reave, which is an infinite scaling nuke combo.
If I remember correctly Revenant was used for 1 shoting liches with enthrall then reave but De patched lessoning ability duration and damage ( I think).
Revenant is a good late game frame for solo and endurance runs. You can instant kill any non-boss and non-overguarded enemy in the game with reave and enthrall combo if you have 249 strength. The reave takes a percentage of health on enthralled enemies, with that strength amount the percentage is 100. Enthralled enemies are a distraction for enemies and the reave can be used to refresh enthralls duration as long as you let one live to spread the infection. The distraction is important in steel path (survival mostly) since there are copious enemies amounts of enemies that eat away at your mesmer skin and overguarded eximus will don’t get slept. TLDR you missed the high strength reave instakill and solo, high level, high volume steel path is where the first & third abilities shine. Good video though, thanks
@@noahedenborg4221unless you prime them, for some reason reave damage can go above 100% (you can see it in the ability stats) and also for some reason roar affects it, so if you use a roar apply 4 or 5 stacks of viral on an enemy and then use reave you one shot em without needing to enthrall, this is fantastic if you use the epitaph as a primer as it has an aoe effect, just like reave meaning you can kill more than 7 enemies with a single cast
I farmed so many relic fissures for Revenant Prime, imo he is the Solo Mission King, I've completed so many steel path missions with 0% damage taken, it makes my friend whose a Wukong main sick to his stomach because he rarely out damages him.
revenant is literaly my favorite frame its so broken i just love that i remember when i was doing 1v1 in dojo the enemi will just kill themselve by attacking me
If I remember correctly, Revenant... Well, died right? We was killed while defending the planes of eidolon, and you go through a long process to revive him with the mask and so on. Presumably that's why he's called "Revenant". I know there's other frames who have died and been brought back to life (Like Limbo), but it makes sense to me
You know what i realize about revanant? he is like pre-rework wukong, his 2nd ability that makes him immortal and every other skill is practically useless (atleast in a squad, enthral does work great for short defense missions)
A revenant is not a vampire. A revenant is a being doomed to come back to life no matter how many times they try to die. Vampirism in folklore is more often referred to as a gift whereas revenance is a curse. Not the same thing. Close, but not the same
When i started okaying revenant i always wondered why not make his 4th ability an exalted arm cannon, like the bubonico or shedu (or onos incarnon form, actukky this one woukd fit more) if they were going with the "eidolon" theme why not go balls deep and give the eidolon-fused guardian an arm cannon, it could even be an augment for his 4th instead of shooting multiple beans while spinning allow me to shot one big beam while moving normally, i think it would be a fantastic ability
I love revenant because he was released on consoles on my birthday. I also love him because of eidolon/void aesthetic warframes. Plus his Reave + Thrall combo is amazing for damage since reaving thralls deals percentage damage. I don't use him for his tanking but for his one shot combo! I wish his 4 was more synergistic with his kit since all of his other abilities synergize perfectly with each other. Although, I do wish that ONLY Revenant could damage his own thralls because as you said, it's really annoying to use in team play (and I can't one-shot explode a room because of this)
You didn’t mentioned the synergy between his first and third abilities. The two together can kill max level enemies at Steep Path easily. Telling he’s just tanky at high level content is just dumb.
Man I remember when Revenant came out and everyone was confused at the idea of a sentient themed warframe, but he was also kind of a vampire (?) I feel like he had a big identity crisis, his lore was weirdly unexplored and confusingly simple and his abilities felt kinda unfinished, also he didn't really manage to pull off the sentient theme since they tried again later with another warframe lol
Thats the problem DEScott frames always faced, even after reworks: they have no cohesion in mind. Your best bet is one ability that carries the absolute shit out of the rest of the kit in sch a way where you genuinely start questioning how such a design was greenlit as its clearly busted OP. Your usual bet is just a mishmash of abilities that do things when you have enough energy and press a button. Oberon and Limbo are two of the opposite cases of this IMO: Oberon has so much bloat on his skills that you wonder what the design intent was unless you were there when he was reworked and Scott was harassed into trying to make it a decent rework rather than just checking off a to do list while Limbo was given a literal "turn off AI" button on what was already the hardest to kill frame in the game with his own pocket dimension. Add in internal drama and its no surprise Revenant is how he is now. Caliban suffers a similar and worse fate as he barely got usability touchups to his kit that he sorely needs while everything about him is bland, including his signature weapon. Caliban is probably the way he is cuz The New War was rushed and it seems he was too. His lore explanation is even rushed and not in any way fleshed out.
I completely disagree with your assessment about Rhino near the end. A frame that needs no less than TWO augments to make his defensive ability more effective in high level play is just bad game design. That shit should be built into his baseline kit.
Enthrall gives me big Harrow vibes. Harrow is basically useless unless the Harrow himself can deal the damage and get the kills. I kinda can't do damage or get kills when the random pub Wukong with 3000 hours and a minmaxed build Cloudwalkers in and instantly nukes the entire room.
To suggest that Danse is your natural subsume is something I can't personally agree with. Rev is a frame that's easy to exceed 300% ability strength and this allows for Danse for to be extremely effective even in Steel Path. It's a solid room clear while your allies have the mesmer skins you've provided to them to recuperate their shields and give them time to recharge their energy. I would personally be more inclined to subsume Thrall over the other abilities, it's the one that is used the least and mine and many others' experiences, and one that typically causes confusion for other players like Nekros' shadows do. You want the rest of the group to be focused on the active enemies, not trying to kill your thrall's when you're running SP
Definitely my second favorite Warframe. My main complaint is it’s very busy to play, but the red crits are so satisfying. Could you do one on my all time favorite Limbo?
He’s not just immortal, he can also instantly delete almost all enemies (not bosses) in the game. 250 strength, enthrall something and Reave through it, instant death.
And what saddens me is his famous 1 3 combo simply cannot one shot any enemy with overguard on just because overguard is considered as a "100% health" means that you need 2 hits with "on enthralled targets" to get the oneshot, and the ones who need one shot is those cannot be oneshotted... Thus leaving his 2, his only powerful ability that carries 99% of his viability.
Excellent video! As much as I love Danse Macabre (I have 272% ability power & Archon mods on Rev which synergize with it nicely) I really like your idea to overhaul it. The thralls are honestly so useless & clunky in team play that I ended up replacing his #1 with Calibans' Sentient Wrath. At my ability power, it gives enemies a 95% damage vulnerability debuff, lifts & CC's them in place- right into LoS with my #4 & #3 if I need it. It's beautiful honestly. Great video on my favorite boy, Revenant :D
What I did to get around the 'thrall engine start' problem was switching Revenant's 4 with Nyx's Mind Control. Mind Control a heavy gunner or Bombardier and throw thrall on it and you'll MC an entire map by accident. Pre subsume, yea it was a problem, but it's not anymore. The honest to god problem is that if they want to make him synergize more, they could make it so Mesmer skin prevents damage/status to health. Which would synergize with his passive. OR make it so that when he has Mesmer skin up, when you use reave, it entralls enemies you pass through. But I also have mixed feelings about invulnerability in warframe as my first main/love is Valkyr.
About Revenants theme and name one can say is in the more consistent in warframe lore. Revenants are undead humans - Eidolons are undead parts of a large Sentient so this amalgamation of a frame, name, theme and powers are ok by me. Although I tend to agree that the ballerina dance of his 4th is the least favorite ability for my taste and I'd like a rework.
play around with revenant long enough, i start use his passive (the knockdown) as an indicator that my mesmer skin has wear off. since caliban released, i have subsumed his stomp onto revenant, it's more fitting for revenant: an eidolon frame to have the stomping than sentient.
Just getting into Gauss. What are these things that make him actually invincible? Doesnt shock and toxin damage still kill him through kinetic plating?
revenant to me (MR30, and by now retired from warframe since I've got little to grind that I care to grind) was the "I don't feel like picking and choosing builds today, let me just pick something that WORKS" frame. mine had obscene amounts of STR (I think I had something like 18 charges on mesmer) and I had replaced his 4 with Roar. this meant that with a viral proc, Reave would do over 51% of enemy HP, which viral doubled to 102% of enemy HP, meaning I could instantly kill any enemy regardless of level by pressing 3 after priming them. busted. as a result, I didn't need to particularly worry too much about weaponry when it came to killing mobs. all I required was a Cedo to prime groups. proceed to press 3 and poof, now there's a corridor of ammo. I'd pop his 1 on enemies particularly good at spreading enthrall (i.e. gunners, who magdump everything in sight) and this'd allow me to quickly mark a large amount of enemies that once reaved would make overlapping damage collumns. Suffice to say, any mission involving enemies was by default a CAKEWALK. so I brought my weapons with the intent of killing bosses. A Pennant, to instantly delete acolytes and the like with a roar-buffed heavy red crit slash. no setup, no worries, press heavy attack and watch the bleed happen. A Cedo, status primer + crit / headshot machine with good multishot for damage attenuation purposes. and a Laetum build for over 100% status and maximum heat damage, resulting in a shower of 300.000 damage fire procs some.. uh... 30 times per second? I don't quite remember the last time I had revenant die. it's really been a long time. he's so busted, lol.
That song in the intro sounds very familiar. Is it a remix of the masterpiece that is named Deep Core from Sonic Rush Adventure? Edit: After checking the description I was correct. I knew it was Deep Core that song is so memorable! I miss Sonic Rush Adventure!
I mean i remember running my rev build on a sortie defense on the corpus ice planet tileset, the big one. It danced the whole way. Was the only time people asked for my build KeK.
What if the augment from Revenant's mist, instead of blinding enemies just armorstrips them or just remove the overshield and drain properties and replaced ir with that one? It could make a good sinergy with dance macabre, just armorstrips enemies using the third and let dance macabre do the rest.
So get this, if you get revenant to 250 power strength, you can guaranteed one shot anything you can enthrall, thanks to reave’s percentage based damage. So not only is Revenant an immovable object, he’s an unstoppable force too.
I used this eidolon vampire boy for a Long time [since 2019] and from that moment i knew he its G-Tier [with an exceptipns..But yeah, G tier] not only with mesmer buff but with his 1,2 and 3 habilities he is a máster on his own way
maybe make the thralls be like Nekros shadows? for them to survive longer and be seful while not affecting enemy spawn? Or make reave got you a buff the more enemies you hit? i dunno
Since I got him way back in the day I've been saying it on deaf ears for years. Revenant is Overpowered as hell Cannot Die, Better Nyx mind control, ONE SHOTS ANYTHING
Ok new comment time! Overall really like your video man 👍 Yeah highly recommend checking out Xaku and Equinox. Xaku in particular because they can solo nearly all content and can do a lot of things that other frames can. Damage buff for weapons? Check. Disarm Enemies? Check. Infinite Scaling Damage? Check. Mind Control Enemies? Check. AoE Armor Strip? Check. A 4 that freezes the duration of ALL abilities, gives higher dodge chance, and slows enemies and with high enough duration can keep the guns active for nearly an hour? Check. Xaku is (IMO) the ultimate warframe that is batshit insane but is balanced enough due to the dodge chance passive to make them super strong but not invincible. That and is perfect for warframes current meta (imo).
I've never heard of anyone using reave liek that. You use reave to 1-shot thralls or viral enemies, since it does percentage damage. That's its whole use.
Honestly, unless I'm needing a more speedy build, I subsume over Reave. As mentioned, it's just kind of a pain to set it up for the synergy to work while everything is dying. It comes in handy for keeping up with speedframes, sometimes, but only if there are not many obstacles or sharp turns, or a need to jump. Reave + aim = flight, but you can't gain altitude with it. And really with the energy cost of reave, it's just better to use operator or make the speedframes wait.
Most maps in the game don't change much in elevation, so being unable to gain altitude doesn't really matter. Usually you go from higher point to lower point anyway. Also, reave is better than using operator cause you don't need to press as many keys to get the same result. It's better to subsume his 4th cause your guns can kill everything faster anyway. Just shoot your AoE weapon of choice under your feet and everything around you dies.
They should've made his passive give him damage reduction to different damage types depending on how much you get hit by them (maybe resets after 15 seconds of not getting hit by that type)
Lol id be pretty bummed out if they nerfed my boy rev in any way, but his kit and what he's based off of is very cool (done way too many vamp kind of fashion frame with him lol) another really well done video of yours that I enjoy hope to see you post more warframe and non warframe related content.
Would you really be mad if they nerfed or reworked his 2? It's beyond broken and makes him a wukong 2.0 before the rework. I wanted revenant to have a cool kit that's more eidolon theme. However, we got...this
Revenants Mesmer skin does need a nerf personally I’d just get rid of the 2hp minimum and maybe reduce the gating on each stack to 0.7 seconds instead of 1 second so he
Here’s an idea to bring him back to being a vampire: change his 4 back to the mist AOE but with the following affects. •affects only enthralled targets •non-enthralled targets are stunned •all enthralled targets in the area have a portion of their health absorbed, healing revenant and releasing a powerful explosion with damage scaling off of enthralled targets total health pool
Ive played revenant almost exclusively for like 2 years now, and i remember being the only fucking person that could see how completely and utterly busted mesmer skin was. It speaks volumes about the community when every tierlist would skip him with a "ult not ver strong so he not that gud :)" after overbuffing what was the most braindead and overpowered tank ability in the game, NOW people think its op. Seriously, put terrify on him, get the 1 augment, now the 2 augment, and watch as you basically have a slightly more interactive top tier that can do anything with zero flaw or thought. The fact they gave mesmer skin to the whole cast with his new augment just confirms to me that the game was not made for interactive gameplay or vague risk, its just a mindless grind through and through, ill happily play it for that, but just think theres people who didnt want crossplay because of the mechanical advantage PC players have. People take this PvE game that seriously.
The way i play rev is replacing his 1st ability w rhino roar, cause i dont like how the thralls play, and then i focus entirely on strenght and duration, so i have a huge amount of skin charges, and big dmg on my 4, w reave being a mobility, and its super fun to play him that way for me Plus w this build his ult can kill even sp enemies so pog
Ok in the clip art your revenant looks absolutely badass but i can tell you have ahriman helment and mephisto skin however I don't understand how you made your chest piece look like that? A sigil? Could you tell me what it is?
It's weird to hear so much hate for Danse Macabre since it kinda feels like it's a reliable way to deal with hordes of enemies. Granted, that might be because my best guns are all Single Target weapons like a Braton Prime.
wait my favorite frame is good now? sweet i quit really early after his release got the forma 3-5 times on him and just left afterwords maybe i can return now and dust off the ol count

Revenant is the constant climb from zero to hero: He just keeps getting stronger the more time passes.
A revenant is not a vampire.
It stems from old Norse folklore and the half ghost half zombie thing called a genganger. Which means "one who walks again". So the Revenant thematic is actually more in line with eidolons than vampires.
Gengangere and in tow revenants are spirits come back from the dead to hunt their killer or similar ventures of vengeance.

soooo... finding revenant's theme from looks alone was extremely difficult.
That’s awesome but gonna ignore all that because I love vampires and he’s my favorite frame so I’m gonna pretend he’s a vampire
reb did introduce him as a vampire back in the day.
i like to think the revenants old kit was the kit of the warden, and after being revived by the same sentient energy that revives the eidolons he gained his current 4 instead
That's how I saw it too. It makes complete sense. If primes weren't hard set to be slightly upgraded versions of none primes. I'd figure his prime would have his original 4.
@@reagenlionel heck, make it a augment for his 3. Not like they haven't created new animations for augments.

Atleast garuda has her claws which is similar to the eagle talons thing.
banshee is a stealth warframe but Banshee is also a creature from the irish floklore which ability is "scream like a bit-" .
@@Deadsnake989 Banshees scream when someone is about to die, I believe. Their voice is like a bell that rings for the deceased
The first two abilities didn't really fit because of this.
i used to think revenant (back while being made) would be a cult-like frame
1 made thralls (who you could kill), they also used to explode
I always thought of the abilities as mimicing several abilities from the poe eidolons.
Reave is, like you said, the thing vomvalysts do when they lose their shield.
Mesmer Skin mimics the fact that you can't damage a Terralyst / Gantulyst / Hydrolyst through normal means until depleting the special shield it has.
Danse Macabre mimics the disco ball spawned by Gantulyst
Enthrall is a little more strange, but once you reave through them or kill them to turn them into the pillars, they are very similar to the laser pillars Gantulyst spawns, or the lighting Hydrolyst spawns under the players feet.
Overall, the entire kit is pretty thematically in line with enemy abilities you would experience in an eidolon hunt.
Enthrall + Reave is actually a very high damage combo that often deletes Acolytes instantly
reave actually does % damage so with high strength and if you enthrall an enemy it can 1 shot them at any level
@@Arbitrarygamer-w5yeven more so if you use a Viral primer first. Viral procs multiply that percentage as well.
Roar also affects thrall pact buffs!
@@Cantaloupe_Connoiseur thats would make mesmer bad tho why would that be a good idea lmao
That interaction usually bugs for me, Idk why but it doesn't register dmg half the time.
I can’t wait for you to do Chroma.
As a Chroma main, he needs so much help with his 1 and 4
thralls will convert any enemy they damage, and the same applies to the pillar and projectiles that spawn when they die. it's not at all difficult to keep up thralls in a squad when the death of your thralls simply makes more, unless you've got a saryn or whatever just instakilling every enemy that spawns in before they can get to you
I did mention that. Literally
Thralls work similarly to Sayrn's Spores actually, they can renew themselves to an extent, but not infinitely, unless it was changed recently
When a thrall dies it will release ~2 or 3 projectiles that target other enemies and enthrall them, but when those enemies die, they won't again release projectiles that enthrall more enemies, you need to recast at that point
But it is true you only need 1 or 2 casts of the ability to reach 7 thralls pretty easily, and that the ability can sustain itself far beyond it's actual ability timer displayed on your HUD though
That's my understanding of the ability having used it for a long time, but it might just be circumstantial as it's what I've observed, not what's programmed into the game
Either way, no matter what the coding behind the ability is, you *will* need to cast enthrall again after the first or second thrall spread as it can't sustain itself infinitely
it's still a bit of a challenge to keep your thralls up. imo enthrall just needs to become an aoe cone like frost's ice wave. the thralls would still die quickly but at least it would be easy to convert a large number of them
You misunderstood Enthrall and Reave. It does max hp% based true damage, allowing you to 2 skill kill even the tankiest of enemies.
Swapping the 4 for Marked for Death allows for the Enthrall > Mark > Reave, which is an infinite scaling nuke combo.
Or just viral proc then reave
Reave+enthrall, one of the hardest hitting combo in the game.
If I remember correctly Revenant was used for 1 shoting liches with enthrall then reave but De patched lessoning ability duration and damage ( I think).
I loved when REAVEnant said it's REAVEing time and REAVEd all over the place
He’s the dopest of all. I main him the last week and I can’t say after trying a lot of other frames his prime is the most op when modded right
Dont even need mods just use rolling guard
If u move alot u can survive anyone and anything with him
Revenant is a good late game frame for solo and endurance runs.
Btw ui shows reave % dmgon thralls its dmg to non thralls are like 1/5
@@noahedenborg4221unless you prime them, for some reason reave damage can go above 100% (you can see it in the ability stats) and also for some reason roar affects it, so if you use a roar apply 4 or 5 stacks of viral on an enemy and then use reave you one shot em without needing to enthrall, this is fantastic if you use the epitaph as a primer as it has an aoe effect, just like reave meaning you can kill more than 7 enemies with a single cast
@@JotaPS88 yeah i know

8:30 haven’t you seen JOJO? Vampires can shoot lasers
If I remember correctly, Revenant... Well, died right? We was killed while defending the planes of eidolon, and you go through a long process to revive him with the mask and so on. Presumably that's why he's called "Revenant". I know there's other frames who have died and been brought back to life (Like Limbo), but it makes sense to me
The way I see it, the other frames that died were rebuilt by us, while revenant was repaired.
You know what i realize about revanant?
he is like pre-rework wukong,
his 2nd ability that makes him immortal and every other skill is practically useless (atleast in a squad, enthral does work great for short defense missions)
fun fact time: a revenant is a semi-sentient corporeal undead, animated by a desire for revenge against specific people or places
I spent all day trying to farm a Khora Prime neuroptics and ended up with a full set of Revenant Prime. Mission successfully failed?
A revenant is not a vampire. A revenant is a being doomed to come back to life no matter how many times they try to die. Vampirism in folklore is more often referred to as a gift whereas revenance is a curse. Not the same thing. Close, but not the same
Revenant is one of the best feeling warframes to play.
Man I remember when Revenant came out and everyone was confused at the idea of a sentient themed warframe, but he was also kind of a vampire (?) I feel like he had a big identity crisis, his lore was weirdly unexplored and confusingly simple and his abilities felt kinda unfinished, also he didn't really manage to pull off the sentient theme since they tried again later with another warframe lol
my mental image of reave was a square of white smoke moving slowly, i never knew they updated it lmao
Great video, really feels like your video format has improved a lot since just a few months ago (though those were also really good.)
Revenant is probably my fav frame to put terrify on
It's amazing to see the meta changes, congratulations for the work!
I've never really played Revenant, so this was a really fun watch! Can't wait till you do an Oberon video!
Only problem
The energy consumption is quite big
Gauss with certain arcanes: hey there fellow immortal

Inaros : bitch please, I'm immortal since I was born

Yeah highly recommend checking out Xaku and Equinox.
That and is perfect for warframes current meta (imo).
your videos are so good for my dreams
So we gonna forget valkyr’s ultimate invincibility
I need your revenant fashion fr
I've never heard of anyone using reave liek that. You use reave to 1-shot thralls or viral enemies, since it does percentage damage. That's its whole use.
wukong pre buff: lmao mesmer skin is cute
That would mean it gets completely replaced by adaptation.
@@VisionsOfSpyalso, that's Caliban passive

•affects only enthralled targets
•non-enthralled targets are stunned
•all enthralled targets in the area have a portion of their health absorbed, healing revenant and releasing a powerful explosion with damage scaling off of enthralled targets total health pool

How much can revenant really tank?
>yes
DE: So what you're saying is nerf mesmer skin?
Anyone else feel like revenant is a shield tank? Replaced Mesmer skin with eclipse and it all clicked.
“Many assert” is bro in my English class?
The way i play rev is replacing his 1st ability w rhino roar, cause i dont like how the thralls play, and then i focus entirely on strenght and duration, so i have a huge amount of skin charges, and big dmg on my 4, w reave being a mobility, and its super fun to play him that way for me
Plus w this build his ult can kill even sp enemies so pog
