"The riot be the rhyme of the unheard" is Zack's variation on the quote by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.: "And I must say tonight that a riot is the language of the unheard." Remember that the next time someone quotes Dr. King in the name trying to quell dissent and selling non-violence as the only means of resistance.
The Battle of Los Angeles refers to the riots that occurred after the acquittal of (4, I think) LA County Sheriff's Deputies accused in the beating of Rodney King.
This is one of my faves. I love Zack’s voice, but sometimes it’s hard to catch what he says. Next vid, have the lyrics where you can see them, it will open up a whole new level, trust me. I’m so happy you’re digging in to one of my absolute top favorite bands!! Love ya Tee ❤
Hell yeah!! Love the riffs and the funk in this one. Love the song so much that I once made an art piece combining flowing ink and writing every word from the lyrics with markers into an atom bomb explosion. Bombs are not very calm 😅 And it’s impossible to be calm when listening to this fire track! 🤘
Down Rodeo is a must. You'll find out that Zack is a Chicano Jesus. Sadly no (✌quote on quote✌) "rap fan" considers him on their top 50 rapper list. Underrated as F**K!!!!
"And I must say tonight that a riot is the language of the unheard. And what is it America has failed to hear? It has failed to hear that the plight of the negro poor has worsened over the last twelve or fifteen years. It has failed to hear that the promises of freedom and justice have not been met. And it has failed to hear that large segments of white society are more concerned about tranquility and the status quo than about justice and humanity." - Martin Luther King Jr
My first concert when I was 18 years old back in the 90's when they first came out and went on tour with Wu-Tang clan... Talk about a first concert, the memories
Hello, RATM is timeless. Which is both awesome & tragic. Been listening since '92/93, and they still hit so hard. Morello's guitar screeching hurts my teeth so good & the lyrics are .... revolutionary
.....the battle of Los Angeles..... I think is reference to this....The 1999 Seattle WTO protests, sometimes referred to as the Battle of Seattle, were a series of anti-globalization protests surrounding the WTO Ministerial Conference of 1999, when members of the World Trade Organization (WTO) convened at the Washington State Convention and Trade Center in Seattle, Washington on November 30, 1999. The Conference was to be the launch of a new millennial round of trade negotiations. The negotiations were quickly overshadowed by massive street protests outside the hotels and the Washington State Convention and Trade Center. The protests were nicknamed "N30", akin to J18 and similar mobilizations, and were deemed controversial by the media. The large scale of the demonstrations, estimated at no fewer than 40,000 protesters, dwarfed any previous demonstration in the United States against a world meeting of any of the organizations generally associated with economic globalization, such as the WTO, the International Monetary Fund, and the World Bank...........Kinda asking for mobilization in L.A. ......u can see in some video ..the same image with Seattle on it..... we wr in those years...... I did my part in Genova .... 2001 .... I tell u ...they are history teachers! Rage on !!!.....check out sleep now in the fire...video version 😉
The Battle of Los Angeles is in reference to the time of the 92 rebellion where such people power emerged that had it been harnessed and properly channeled could have led to state power being militarily won by poor and oppressed people and the dismantling of the capitalist dictatorship could have been achieved. A battle is when protest and defensive resistance against injustice has achieved the threshold of being able of taking the fight to the oppressors and their allies.
I like when reactor do audio version, many do with lyrics and end up being blocked by the machine. 😂 video will get block fast too. So keep doing audio or some live, you good you catch the bars.😂 welcome in the Rage "****"😊
So, as you know, I been checking out your vids. I watched Black Betty last night. You’ve done some Led Zeppelin. The history of music is very intertwined. I’d like you to check out some rocking women. Heart. Barracuda.✌️😊🌼
Credit where it's due: "And I must say tonight that a riot is the language of the unheard." M.L. King.

always readying the lyrics, my man.
we're talking about one of the greatest bar spitters there.
The intro riff drops so dirty it gave you bass-face. Ravers know what I'm talking about.
Lol i have an idea 😂
