As far as Zack's political ideology, he's about as extreme as it gets. He's basically Huey from The Boondocks. A few months ago Rage was inducted into the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame and Zack wasn't there because he was busy protesting the war in Gaza. He's really about it.
As an anarcho-communist myself, I don't find the views extreme at all. I find the current status quo extreme and unsustainable. Power and profit over people, exploitation of workers and indigenous communities in the search of a sort of capitalist manifest destiny, corporations running governments, colonialism still alive today, the poisoning of our planet and prisons making money by keeping their jails full with a 21st century version of chattel slavery. It's untenable and you can see it crumbling before your eyes right now. It takes time but capitalism is in itself unsustainable. That's extreme to me but hey, we all have our own perceptions of the world.

Hey Rob, been watching your content for a while now bro. I really enjoy watching you explore the different genre it's like a cultural exchange you're digging the stuff now that I've dug for years. Keep up the good work.
RATM came out with 3 albums of original music, with this song being on their last album which dropped in ‘99 (I was in high school) and this whole album is 🔥Their 4th (and last) album is all cover songs, and they cover a few hip hop artists, so it’s cool to hear Zack rapping to hip hop songs on that album.
@@ReivecS Nah, just a delay pedal and a good bassist holding the groove for him. so he's playing it live, but the "echo" comes slightly later and is made to be just as loud as the initial part so it sounds like two guitars at the same time. It'll only echo what he's playing live, it's not storing anything as a sample. There is a tech element to it, but no more than pretty much every guitarist has at their feet. Tom just uses it differently.
After watching all your Rage reactions (definitely not multiple times each 👀) I’m super surprised more people haven’t rec’d Renegades of Funk. Lyrics have you jumping out the chair type track. No question the next vid is gonna be Wake Up and I’m with that. His message in Renegades is on brand for your reactions though. 🎯
There's an updated version of PE's Burn, Hollywood Burn with Zack, Chuck D & The Roots, along with tracks he's done with Run the Jewels, if you want to hear him on more traditional sounding hip-hop.
Zach is a fucking master lyricist, and yes hes a hardcore true believer for the cause. He bout as far left as you can get bro, and we right there with him.
Zach went solo after Rage. Check out “Wild International” from One Day As A Lion The lyrics and flow on that track is probably his best work, it’s insane
9:10 you can absolutely do all of these sounds at once using a delay pedal for your instrument! It's essentially an echo that you can control the exact repetition rate and number of repetitions of, and you just turn it on by pressing a button with your foot- same pedal he used for the echo in the Like A Stone solo.
I’m a hip hop fan who learned about Rage and a lot of these other bands via this series. I wouldn’t binge a catalogue and lose the content when there’s a billion other songs that I can listen to that I won’t make vids on.
As far as what a band member makes, I believe the ones credited for the songs make the most from royalties. If the band chooses to split the signing contract evenly that is up to them. And most bands make money from touring (ticket sales). So again, what they decide to do with the money is up to them.
Just found your videos and have really been enjoying your love for Rage. All the songs you have listened to are great but I would love to get your take on Voice of the Voiceless off the Battle of Los Angeles album. One of the best intros Tom has ever done and didn’t get as much play time but an all time fave. I’m a new subscriber and thanks for bringing me back to my high school days!!
No shit, check out Zack's rap style in his side project band "One Day as a Lion", just do their one big song "Wild International" I'd love your reaction to that, I think everyone would.

Yo, you got a subscribe from us. I once said to a friend of mine "a good line is everything" and my buddy said "recognizing a good line is everything else." That's you, that is. Cheers Mang, protect that huge heart of yours. Onwards!!
Zack's got some verses on a couple Run The Jewel's beats, which are still not necessarily "traditional beats" but still hip hop. My favorite of his is on "JU$T"
Yes, all those sounds are made at once. Tom, and the extension of his body that is his guitar, makes those noises at one time. It’s glorious perfection!
Hey Roberto, I love this RATM reacts. Here's a bit of Zach's past history to give context on some of the lyrics and his style: "His father was a muralist and a member of Los Four, the first Chicano art collective to be exhibited at a museum. De la Rocha's great grandfather, Jose Isaac de la Rocha Acosta, was a Mexican revolutionary who fought in the Mexican Revolution. His grandfather Isaac de la Rocha, was an agricultural laborer in the U.S. De La Rocha would later see the hardships his grandfather endured reflected in the struggles of the Zapatista Army of National Liberation. De la Rocha's parents divorced when he was six, and he moved from East Los Angeles to Irvine with his mother, who attended the University of California, Irvine and earned a PhD in anthropology. De la Rocha later described Irvine as "one of the most racist cities imaginable" and said that "if you were a Mexican in Irvine, you were there because you had a broom or a hammer in your hand."
You need to hear Zach on track he did with Run The Jewels. It’s more traditional rap, but he is still Zach. From a dude who has listened to him since the early nineties in middle and high school!
Yeah my man glad to see you did this one. If you see them live you would see there is no layering of Tom's guitar solo, HE PLAYS THAT SHIT JUST LIKE THAT LIVE!!!!
Watching you get hype reminds me of when I bought their cassette EVIL EMPIRE and how hype I was then. Then buying BATTLE OF LOS ANGELES on CD and doing what you’re doing. Pausing reading the lyrics, rewinding and getting hype again and quoting his lyrics during my everyday life YES I SPIT FYAH!!!! Please go see them when they played outside the democratic convention in LA 🎉❤
Wait until you realize that they played this music live and there’s absolutely no recording and replay loops. It’s all done right there and then on the fly.
Zach is definitely the star of RATM, Tom revolutionized guitar in a big way, but that shit that’s making your head bop is drums and bass 100%! Also, check out Zach on Run the Jewels track “JU$T”… he’s on a few of their tracks, but his verse on that one is fire, and he does the chorus.
Zack is also featured on a couple RUN THE JEWELES tracks and he had another sick project called ONE DAY AS A LION if you want to hear more of him outside of RATM. Highly recommend checking out both.
I think this episode should be in the convo of your top overall man. I’m over here talking to my tv n shit like you in the living room lol Calm Like a Bomb is nastyyy live too, front to back.

I don't expect a reply here since I doubt you want to get too into politics, but saying you are "pro-capitalism" is mostly meaningless without defining what you mean. I say this because there is so much FUD from a variety of sources that will use words like capitalism, socialism, communism, liberal, conservative, Neo-conservative, progressive, etc, but they all have VERY DIFFERENT meanings (if they even really have much of a meaning at all besides scare tactics). Some people will think of capitalism as meaning "no or little regulation" but that isn't at all what that means. The level of regulation is pretty much an entirely different topic. Some may say they support "democratic capitalism" which is basically where the regulations are agreed upon in a democratic manner, which would require the elimination of money corrupting influences but as soon as you phrase it as such it gets labeled as socialism by others. All the labels get so muddied (intentionally so by people trying to influence your behavior) that they are mostly worthless. The only political discussions that matter imo are ones that focus on specific policy. As soon as you start to abstract ideas to make them easier to understand you also make them easier to misunderstand.

BTW: Any reactions are good if they are from the heart (saw the SOD, and I appreciate you being truthful). Keep it going! Peace!
Rob, you should definitely do whatever different types of content you want on the channel, we’ll be supporting it all!
As for Rage, you should listen to the entire album this is from, “Battle of Los Angeles” sometime, whether you do it on your own or make a video. You’ll love it, there’s not a bad track.
I’m actually surprised you hadn’t reacted to Guerilla Radio yet, it was their biggest hit from this album, and probably their most well known song after Bulls on Parade. Anyway, great video as always!
RobTV, This made me laugh so much! Thanks for sharing!
Been a Rage fan since the beginning. Rob, I've seen a bunch of your reaction vids now and LOVE seeing you become a super fan. Nothing gets my blood pumping like RATM. Thanks for breaking down the lyrics - even after decades of listening, I haven't fully analyzed all the lyrics bc just the music alone puts me in a frenzy. You're real Rob, I appreciate that. Keep doing what you're doing!
Rage - Take the Power Back
As close to old school hip hop as one gets; banging bass from Tim
The best
Bro, I love your personality. Keep doing your thing.
your reaction to Rage songs never fails to give me chills 😆
This is my must-see-tv. You capture my joy in your own way. Every song always comes out swinging. Seeing you enjoy them justifies much of my beliefs, my core. These dudes grabbed me by the collar and shook sense into my ethos. Thank you for sharing. Stank face loading...
If you wanna hear Zack rapping on a straight up hip hop track check out the song “C.I.A. (Criminals in Action)” by KRS-One. He features on it and it goes hard.
Does everyone realize how frickin smart and astute Rob is? His commentary belies a deep understanding of political thought and human nature. Respect!
BEEN waiting for another rage reaction! ❤ glad you liked. Keep them coming
Rob reacting to Rage, YES PLEASE! For real though you should check out Run The Jewels - Close Your Eyes And Count To F*ck, that features Zack! That shit BUMPS!
He did those sounds at once
I would assume using loops with foot pedals though, so sort of a middle ground there.
@@ReivecS but it means he can play it live and replicated it without layering tracks so its def more of an "at once"
@@cags113 I am totally on board but it is still enabled by technology so he can't REALLY do all those sounds at once.... thus middle ground.
A lot of what people assume is guitar there is bass
@@ReivecS Nah, just a delay pedal and a good bassist holding the groove for him. so he's playing it live, but the "echo" comes slightly later and is made to be just as loud as the initial part so it sounds like two guitars at the same time. It'll only echo what he's playing live, it's not storing anything as a sample. There is a tech element to it, but no more than pretty much every guitarist has at their feet. Tom just uses it differently.
Comedy. George Carlin, Bill Burr. But more Rage for sure! Wake Up, Down Rodeo. Guerrilla Radio
Rob...we love you mate! Love from England!
You can hear Zack on a rap track. You can check him out with KRS One on C.I.A., or you can hear him with Run the Jewels on at least three tracks.
Man i love these kind of videos, you bring a new perspective to a band i already loved. I recommend Mic Check from the same album it's great
I really enjoy what your doing, keep doing it! As far as anything outside of music reactions? I’d stay right here 😊
Check out Zack with Run the Jewels. A must!
I love your reactions. Looking great as well!
Thanks! 🙏🏾
Tom uses two BOSS digital delay pedals. He dose that "layered" part live.
Flex brother!
Personally I enjoy that you speak your mind on Politics, I’d enjoy seeing you go in that direction.
Triple Blessings Upon you!
♥️✊🏿
White Aussie dudes grew up on this in the 90s mate haha. The racism isn't individual, it's systemic. We all need to love each other.
Subscriber from Sydney Australia, be cool to see you reacting to some NRL (australian football)
I'd be interested in seeing you react to other types of content, but i do LOVE your music reactions.
There's an updated version of PE's Burn, Hollywood Burn with Zack, Chuck D & The Roots, along with tracks he's done with Run the Jewels, if you want to hear him on more traditional sounding hip-hop.
This Record came out 25 years ago this week.. still bangs!!
Zach is saying what we all feel. Not even just as a black person, a human being. He's a poet for justice. I know he'd hate me but I love him .
Zach is a fucking master lyricist, and yes hes a hardcore true believer for the cause. He bout as far left as you can get bro, and we right there with him.
Zach went solo after Rage. Check out “Wild International” from One Day As A Lion
The lyrics and flow on that track is probably his best work, it’s insane
Wild International is crazy. Also check out Digging for Windows.
This!!!
This!!!
I don't know how anyone can start listening to Rage against the Machine... like them, and then not binge their whole catalogue.
I’m a hip hop fan who learned about Rage and a lot of these other bands via this series. I wouldn’t binge a catalogue and lose the content when there’s a billion other songs that I can listen to that I won’t make vids on.
@@HollywoodRobTV I get it, It's just a lot of restraint.
@@averagegatsbyIf he spits out all the Rage catalog now, he’ll drop viewers once it’s all done lol
Movie Reactions would be awesome
I grew up on Rage… the best! Music these days doesn’t come close. Rage is more relevant today than ever before. Legends
No shit, check out Zack's rap style in his side project band "One Day as a Lion", just do their one big song "Wild International" I'd love your reaction to that, I think everyone would.
Me, I’m just anti-human greed. Whatever your political beliefs or party, business, musical genre or anything. I’m against human greed.
Zack For President! I wrote him in 4 years ago, and again this year. Don't tell me I wasted my vote... No one with the major parties EARNED my vote! Peace!
Yo, you got a subscribe from us. I once said to a friend of mine "a good line is everything" and my buddy said "recognizing a good line is everything else." That's you, that is. Cheers Mang, protect that huge heart of yours. Onwards!!
Its the Passion . It is supercharged . The group means what they play, they not pulling punches
Glad you boppin to em
He's own a track rapping on "Nervous Hip Hop" you gotta hear that.
I really enjoy your reactions Rob, so entertaining but real informative too, keep up the good stuff mate
I remember two dudes in a McDonald's drive thru making fun of me 25 years ago for this. I was like, "you guys dont even know what you're trashing".
RENEGADES OF FUNK BY RAGE IS 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Zack's got some verses on a couple Run The Jewel's beats, which are still not necessarily "traditional beats" but still hip hop. My favorite of his is on "JU$T"
Yes, all those sounds are made at once. Tom, and the extension of his body that is his guitar, makes those noises at one time. It’s glorious perfection!
UA-cam their live concerts. Best live band ever. Amazing energy. Edge of your seat performances. Can’t sit down. Best ever
"I'M CALM LIKE A BOOOOMB", said Zack de la Rocha calmly.
Tom plays a delay petal in order to layer those extra guitar parts, along with about 25 other petals.
Hey Roberto, I love this RATM reacts.
Here's a bit of Zach's past history to give context on some of the lyrics and his style:
"His father was a muralist and a member of Los Four, the first Chicano art collective to be exhibited at a museum.
You have to check out his songs with Run Thew Jewels.
Delay pedals are Tom Morello's magic.
Like mango salsa for a chef.
They were ahead of their time. And no one has duplicated this sound
That deep guitar sound during the verses is the bass guitar Tim Commeford. So dope
YESS!!! Seeing your reaction make's me remember hearing RATM for the first time ❤
Keep up the good work 🤟
He is saying “I be walking God like a dog.” I’m sure this is a repeat so yeah.
You gotta hear "pistol grip pump 🤙🔥 be ratm
My favorite RATM song (cover).
Banger!
Pistol grip pump in my queue at all times
I got so excited to see you had 2 new RATM reactions. This song is one of my favorite bass lines and the song playing at their concert when i fell in ❤ with my hubs 18 years ago. Id love to see your reaction to Immortal Techniquw, he is radical like RATM but a traditional rapper. Recommend the 4th branch ❤
Lets fkn goooooo!!!
LFG!!!!
You gotta do their song Wake Up.
I needed this video 🤘
Rage is the best band. You should listen to bombtrack or freedom those are the BEST.
Please do Down Rodeo, if you live in LA it will hit home
